00:30More and more Dominican universities are appearing in quality rankings,
00:34raising their standards to levels comparable with prestigious educational centers in the United States.
00:40Not only that, the Dominican Republic is projected as a promising academic hub,
00:45welcoming more young foreigners each year who come to study degrees such as medicine and engineering,
00:50attracted by the growing reputation of our institutions.
00:54The Ministry of Higher Education has been a catalyst in this process.
00:58Its openness policy, scholarship programs, and partnerships with universities in other countries
01:03have boosted key areas such as STEM, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics programs,
01:09which have seen sustained growth since 2015 and are crucial for the country's competitive future.
01:15Added to this are significant achievements.
01:17More than 70 research projects are funded each year through the Fondo SIT, SIT Fund.
01:23Universities have obtained around 25 patents,
01:25and virtual teaching initiatives are expanding with rigor and quality control.
01:30Our universities are also working to become more inclusive, disaster resilient,
01:34and connected to the demands of the digital world.
01:37The road ahead is still long, but the steps taken are firm and encouraging.
01:41The country must continue supporting this path of progress because much of the nation's destiny is forged in higher education.
