La DNCG vient de notifier la rétrogradation de l'Olympique Lyonnais en Ligue 2. Quelques minutes avant l'officialisation de cette décision, John Textor était pourtant apparu confiant face aux journalistes amassés devant le siège de la DNCG.

00:00So, look, obviously, we have a lot to discuss.
00:06We feel very comfortable with the processes of the DNCG this year.
00:11I think this might be new.
00:13They changed things, so they allowed preliminary meetings 30 days ago.
00:17So we were very pleased with that process.
00:20This year in particular, we know the DNCG is extremely comfortable
00:25and aware of our overall Eagle football business model.
00:30And so we enjoyed the hearing.
00:32Obviously, it's in the news.
00:34You can see, thanks to contributions from our shareholders,
00:37new equity we've invested, not only for the DNCG,
00:40but also for our UEFA licensing process.
00:44And also, the good news that we sold Crystal Palace.
00:48Our liquidity situation has improved remarkably.
00:53You know, that said, it's an evaluation process,
00:56and I respect the DNCG's right to look at the full file.
01:00And I think I've learned enough from you guys and about the processes in France
01:04that I would never, you know, presume anything coming out of the hearing.
01:09But I can say we enjoyed the process this year.
01:12They know our model.
01:14Our liquidity situation is vastly improved.
01:17And we have a significant amount of cash available for this club.
01:22So we're happy with that and looking forward to the season.
01:26And we just await work from the DNCG.
01:28How many cash do you have for this season?
01:34You know, that's...
01:35Look, we're a publicly traded company.
01:36We just don't throw around numbers like that.
01:38But everybody knows what we sold Crystal Palace for generally.
01:42That's money that goes into Eagle.
01:44Obviously, we like to pay down debt with that.
01:46We also like to make portions of that available to the business.
01:50We were asked an amount of money by UEFA to put into the business
01:54to assure our sustainability and make them feel comfortable.
01:58We agreed with their request and we provided that amount of money.
02:03And, you know, that's the presentation we made to the DNCG.
02:08So we are attractively sustainable going forward.
02:13We have significant reduction in expenses, player wages,
02:17old contracts burning off.
02:19So in terms of profitability, next year we're quite comfortable.
02:21And now it's about just equitizing the business,
02:24which we're able to do, given the liquidity that has come to Eagle.
02:28In your business, how much do you have to pay any payers?
02:34That's a bizarrely detailed question.
02:37So I think I'm probably said enough.
02:41And we're publicly traded company,
02:43so you're certainly welcome to look at our financials
02:46to see what we pay players.
02:47But we have more than enough cash to run this business.
02:51We're one of the more well-capitalized clubs in France at this point,
02:55other than the obvious big one at the top,
02:57and some others that I'm sure have greater resources.
03:01So we're quite comfortable with our liquidity,
03:04and we've met every request thus far of the governing bodies,
03:07and we'll continue to run the business,
03:10and thankfully with improving liquidity.
03:12Thank you.
03:12Thank you.
03:12Thank you.
