00:00Protesters clashed with police in central London on Monday during a protest against the government's decision to ban Palestine action as a group under terror laws.
00:14This would make joining or supporting the group illegal and could even result in up to 14 years in prison.
00:24The move effectively places the group in the same bracket as Islamist terrorist groups such as Al-Qaeda, far-right groups such as National Action and the Russian private military company, the Wagner Group.
00:41This has all come after Palestine Action posted footage online showing two people inside the base at RAF Bryce Norton in Oxfordshire on Friday morning.
00:56The clip shows one person riding an electric scooter up to an Airbus Voyager air-to-air refuelling tanker and appearing to spray paint into its jet engine.
01:08Monday's protest had initially been planned to take place outside the Houses of Parliament, but the location was changed early on Monday morning after the Metropolitan Police imposed an exclusion zone.
01:26The Home Secretary said Palestine Action's activity has increased since 2024 and its methods have become more aggressive with its members showing a quote-unquote willingness to use violence.
