00:01It's a Ford Explorer that you can take off-road.

00:04This is Jeff Gilt with a Car Chronicles test drive.

00:07Ford's Explorer has always been about getting through bad weather or tough conditions on-road,

00:12but for the first time they have a new trimmer trim that's aimed at off-roaders.

00:17I think it fits perfectly into the Explorer heritage.

00:20It's always meant capability, versatility, but there are people who want to go further.

00:24Ford Explorer brand manager Matt Duffield says the Explorer trimmer will have unique styling cues.

00:30What makes it really capable is the Taurus and Limited slip differential in the back,

00:34the skid plates, the 400-horsepower 3-liter engine.

00:38That's the stuff that when you get off-road really makes a difference in the driving.

00:41Now, the Explorer trimmer will not be a Bronco, but if it's like trimmer trims of the Expedition or F-150,

00:47it will have fairly decent off-roading credentials.

00:50As more people are now interested in taking their vehicles off the road,

00:54and into an adventure.
