A nurse mom was given a sweet surprise on her 50th birthday when she thought she was heading to help a patient only to discover her daughter who had flown across the country hiding in a hospital bed. Mariesa Genzale was determined to be in Seattle, Washington, for her single mom Angela's big day, given all the support her mother had shown her down the years. Having raised two children on her own and worked as a labor and delivery nurse for more than 30 years, Angela had encouraged Mariesa to chase her dream of becoming an actor and moving to New York. And so, knowing she wanted to return home for her mom's milestone birthday, Mariesa reached out to a nurse who Angela works with. Having arrived at Swedish Hospital, in Issaquah, Washington, Mariesa was told her mom was out of the wing, overseeing a nurse meeting. This provided the perfect opportunity for Mariesa to ready the surprise, with several nurses taking her to an empty room and hiding her in a bed. Then, Angela was told to head to the room, where a patient needed to see her. So convincing was the setup, given that the nurses had placed the likes of IV drips and other materials around Mariesa's bed, that Angela didn’t suspect a thing as she walked into the room. But then, when she looked beneath the covers, she saw her smiling daughter, who burst out laughing with the nurses as her "best friend" mom had to take a seat from the shock.
