00:00When you wonder, when you ask me, how do you understand the verses the way you do?

00:05I have been asked often that what you bring out from the verses is often something we have never read anywhere.

00:13From where does that come?

00:15That does not really come from the text itself.

00:17That comes from my life.

00:19Text and wisdom do not necessarily go together.

00:22But freedom, rebellion and wisdom, they go together.

00:24I have lived an outrageous life and that's what enables me to receive the full meaning of the Gita.

00:33You cannot be someone living a comfortable, closed, traditional life, not risking much and then hoping that the beyond will reveal itself to you.

00:46I have dared to go beyond what the society had planned for me, what this body, what circumstances, what tradition wanted from me.

00:55And therefore, I think humbly that the Gita comes to me like a friend, like a companion, like someone I can admire the beauty of.

01:04Not just worship in submission, but stand next to and say, I know you.
