Jen Wilson, the CMO at Lowe's, discusses its creator network and how it's using influencer marketing to connect with Gen Alpha.
Transcript
00:00We're super excited as we are launching our creator network to have Mr. Beast on board.
00:05Mr. Beast is the number one influencer in the world.
00:13Well, we're excited at Lowe's because we've been, you know, making connections with children for quite some time now
00:19through our loyalty program where parents can bring their kids in for kids' workshops one Saturday out of every month.
00:25And it was, you know, one storyline where a parent had written Lowe's and told us that an associate who had such a deep connection with their child
00:35and had remembered their birthday, their child had grown sick, and this associate was there to sort of help, you know, make their child feel better,
00:43that once she got out of the hospital, the first thing she said she wanted to do was go to Lowe's and be a part of this kids' workshop.
00:49And when we heard that, we knew that we really had something rich and enchanting going on and connective with children
00:56because they are not just building, but they are also thinking about ways that they can build memories with their parents as well.
01:03And so when we started to think about, you know, the idea of Gen Alpha and wanting to make an earlier connection
01:09and waiting for people to be homeowners, you know, we said, what is a way where we can do a better job of meeting kids where they are?
01:17And a part of that is where they are consuming content.
01:21And that is, you know, through creators.
01:23Influencers now are more trusted than most brands.
01:26We've created this partnership with Mr. Beast in a couple of ways.
01:29One, we are helping Mr. Beast build the city for his season two of Beast Games, which is super exciting.
01:35So our Red Vest associates are actually on set building the set with Lowe's products.
01:40But two, we know Mr. Beast is a big influencer amongst Gen Alpha.
01:44And so we've created a custom storefront on Lowe's.com where Mr. Beast has helped to curate different obstacle courses
01:51that kids, along with their parents, can build together to create lasting memories throughout the summer.
01:57And then we also have a partnership with Lionel Messi.
02:00And one of the things we want to remember is that while Messi is also a big influencer across the world,
02:07he also is helping us take shape of still experiences with kids in real life.
02:14You know, IRL is still really important, even in this, you know, very social economy that we're living in.
02:20And so this summer, as a part of our investment across live sports with soccer,
02:25Lionel Messi has created a Move Like Messi video that we'll be offering up to all of our loyalty kids members at Lowe's.
02:34And so parents can bring their kids in on a Saturday in the summer
02:38and they can learn the top five moves from Lionel Messi, which is really cool.
02:42And in some of our stores, we'll be building soccer fields and soccer goals.
02:48And so kids and parents can really have, you know, this immersive experience with our brand.
