00:00Whenever any head coaching gig is vacant, it seems like your name is thrown in there almost immediately.
00:06Does that feel like a compliment in the moment?
00:09I'm not. I don't know. I'm not going anywhere.
00:13So I don't spend a lot of time on what ifs.
00:16I think it speaks to what we've done here as a program and what we've been able to build.
00:20It's a really special place.
00:22But to know that I'm really comfortable exactly where I'm at and where we're going to be is just as important to me.
00:27And then they made a commitment to me. They gave me an opportunity here that no one else gave me that opportunity.
00:32They gave me a chance to be the head coach here, and that's something I want to see through.
00:35So you feel like college is it. Did you ever want to be a coach?
00:39I used to have dreams and aspirations to coach in the NFL, and then I feel like I've fallen in love with really the players that I get to build relationships with here.
00:48The year-round involvement that it takes in a program, the people that I get to work with in a place where we can really push the envelope.
00:55And for me, this is it. You know, this checks every box.
00:59And I think at some point, if you're always looking at what's next, what next, sometimes you miss the opportunity to smell the roses and see what exists right in front of you.
01:06Yeah, the grass is over this greener quote. It always comes back around.
01:09It's like, he's already said this. You know, every time your name gets thrown out, it's like, well, he's kind of already answered this question.
01:14Yeah, we don't have to answer it again. We know.
