Jessica Jensen, the chief marketing and strategy officer at LinkedIn, talks about attracting and retaining talent as well as AI job search and video sharing on the platform.
00:00I think the most flexible companies will get and keep the best talent.
00:09LinkedIn is the largest professional network in the world with over a billion members and millions and millions of wonderful companies and organizations.
00:18And we advise employers all of the time on how to hire the best talent, which they do with us, but also the nature of work, how work is exploding.
00:28You know, we live in a very tumultuous time and AI is bringing incredible efficiency, but also reducing hiring in some areas.
00:38Macroeconomic wacko is going on all over the place.
00:42So I think it's important for employers to expand their mind frame about the definition of work and jobs and what it will take to attract and retain the best workers.
00:54And I would say that one thing that we see and that I would advise employers on is remain flexible about work and workers.
01:04It's an exciting time to be a worker, too.
01:07We all need to learn new skills.
01:10We all need to prepare for changing jobs.
01:13And so LinkedIn is the best place to be your career companion, which means learning new skills, taking AI courses, following experts in either the industry you're in or you want to be in, learning from entrepreneurs, exploring your future in a more wide way.
01:34We've just launched AI job search, which I like to say, widens the aperture of job discovery.
01:41And you don't have to put in finance manager Los Angeles, but you just tell us in your language what you like and what you want.
01:49I have a background in architecture.
01:51I want to work out of doors.
01:53I'm interested in part time in Europe.
01:56And that language that you can use is so much more expansive, and our job search brings you a much wider assortment of work that you may not have even thought of.
02:07Video on LinkedIn is blossoming.
02:11We see incredible growth in video and wonderful engagement.
02:16Video sharing grew 36% year over year, and video gets 40% higher engagement than other formats.
02:24I think everyone, whether you're an entrepreneur or a teacher or a CEO or a government, can and should be embracing video.
02:34And one of the most important things is to not overthink it, to not over script it.
02:40The best performing content on video on LinkedIn is from people talking naturally as themselves, sharing an insight, sharing something they learned.
02:51So scripted, formal, corporate videos are not where the magic is at.
02:58Be yourself, share what you think, what you know, and people will eat it up.
