Etawah (UP) – In a disturbing caste-based attack, storyteller Mani Singh Yadav was humiliated and assaulted while reciting Bhagwat Katha in Nagla Nandi village. The accused shaved his head, rubbed his nose on a woman’s foot, and broke his harmonium.

Mani alleged the organisers asked his caste on Day 1 of the event (scheduled 21–27 June). When he revealed he was a Yadav, he was called a Dalit and told, “How dare you do Bhagwat in a Brahmin village?” He was then beaten and insulted.

Police have filed an FIR against Atul, Manish, Pappu, and 50 unidentified persons. Investigations are ongoing.
