00:06Wow! This is such a huge box.
00:09Who is it from?
00:12It's from Bill.
00:14Let's open it and see.
00:16Yay! Let me help you.
00:20Whoa, Tia! This is the best gift ever.
00:24Indeed it is.
00:26Well, you have not opened my gifts yet.
00:29You did not give me anything yet, Tia.
00:32Haha! Here you go.
00:35What's that?
00:37I made this sweater for you.
00:39And these chocolates too.
00:42But, Tia, it's just a sweater and chocolates.
00:48It seems like you don't love me that much.
00:53Have you seen the gifts that my friends have given me?
00:56I have got lots of toys and branded clothes.
01:02Tofu, you are belittling me.
01:05I made the gifts for you with so much love.
01:08But, Tia, I did not mean it that way.
01:12I understand what you mean.
01:14Do you want to hear a beautiful story?
01:16Yes, please.
01:17The Princess and the Salt
01:25Long, long ago, in an enormous castle,
01:29there lived a mighty king with his three daughters.
01:33One sunny morning, as the king was taking a stroll in his garden,
01:37he called his three daughters.
01:40He wanted to know how much each of them loved him.
01:45My lovely daughters, come here to me.
01:50I have a question for you all.
01:53Good morning, father.
01:54What is that you want to ask us?
01:56Oh, my dearest Stella, tell me, how much do you love your father?
02:04I love you as much as I love gold.
02:07On hearing this, the king puffed up with happiness.
02:12He then called out to the next daughter.
02:15My dearest Julia, tell me, how much do you love your father?
02:20Oh, father dear, I love you as much as I love diamonds.
02:26On hearing this, the king was even happier.
02:30He then turned to his youngest daughter and asked the same question.
02:35Oh, my dearest Jane, tell me, how much do you love your father?
02:41Dear father, I love you as much as I love salt.
02:45As Jane said this, her eyes glittered with love for her father.
02:52But the mighty king was so angry with his youngest daughter
02:56that he ordered her to get out of the palace forever.
03:01How can you say that?
03:04For you, is my value only as much as some salt?
03:09Get out of this kingdom now, you ungrateful little girl.
03:13Never come back here again.
03:18And the furious king ordered to banish his daughter to the forest
03:23and close the gates of the palace on her.
03:30Distressed and rejected, poor little Jane wandered around the forest.
03:36Suddenly, she heard the sound of a horse's hooves galloping towards her.
03:42The frightened princess ran and hid inside the hollow of a tree bark at once.
03:49Oh no, who is that?
03:51What if he abducts me?
03:54Oh Lord, please save me.
03:57The horse halted near the tree and a handsome young man jumped off to the ground.
04:02He had seen the princess hiding there and so he called out.
04:09Oh young lady, don't be afraid.
04:12I will not harm you.
04:14Do you need any help?
04:16Who are you?
04:17I live in the neighbouring kingdom.
04:20I am a wealthy merchant.
04:22What are you doing all alone in this dense forest?
04:26Are you lost?
04:28The princess stepped out of the hollow tree bark and started sobbing.
04:33She then told the young man about whatever had happened.
04:36I love my father so much but he doesn't understand.
04:48There will come a day when he will finally understand your love for him.
04:53Oh young princess, don't be disheartened.
04:55The merchant and the princess quickly fell in love with each other and soon they were married.
05:06Years passed and one day the king lost his way while hunting in the forest.
05:13Finally, as fate would have it, he reached the doorstep of the wealthy merchant and asked for help.
05:21Oh young boy, can you help me?
05:24I am lost.
05:26I have been wandering in the forest for two days.
05:30I am tired and hungry.
05:32The merchant immediately recognised the king as his wife's father.
05:37Despite knowing, he kept quiet about it and welcomed the king inside his house.
05:48Take some rest and I shall arrange some food for you, your majesty.
05:54The merchant went inside and told his wife about her father's arrival.
06:00The young princess quickly dismissed the cooks from the kitchen and decided to cook food on her own.
06:06You may leave.
06:08I will cook the food today.
06:11After some time, a big feast was laid on the table for the king.
06:16There were a variety of dishes and the king, starving like anything, dug into his meal.
06:22And as soon as he took a bite, he got furious.
06:28Oh Lord, what is this?
06:32How can someone eat something like this?
06:35It has no taste.
06:36I demand to speak with the cook immediately.
06:40To his astonishment, his daughter stood right there in front of him.
06:46Hello father.
06:48Your food tastes bad because there isn't any salt in it.
06:53Our lives would be terrible without salt in our food, wouldn't it?
06:58Do you now understand how much I love you, my dearest father?
07:04The king stood up with tears in his eyes and immediately pulled his daughter into his arms.
07:11He embraced her and promised to never doubt the love she has for him ever again.
07:18That was a wonderful story, dear.
07:22I am sorry for the way I behaved.
07:25I now understand the love that you have for me.
07:29Giving valuable gifts doesn't define love.
07:33It's the efforts and the intentions of a person that defines the love we have for each other.
07:41You got it absolutely right, Tofu.
