00:00Once upon a time there lived a brother and sister named Hansel and Gretel.
00:11Their mother had passed away when they were babies.
00:14They lived with their dad in a hut in the forest.
00:17Their dad was trying to earn their living by working as a woodcutter
00:21and was looking after the kids at the same time.
00:24A couple of years passed and struggling to juggle work and two kids at the same time,
00:29their dad decided to get married again.
00:32The woodcutter's wife was from a wealthy family and she hated the fact that they were poor
00:38and she had to live in a small ruined hut deep into the forest.
00:43Plus, she did not like her stepchildren at all.
00:50On a cold winter night, as they were getting ready for bed,
00:54Hansel and Gretel heard their stepmother talking to their dad.
00:59How are you going to get through this winter?
01:03We don't have enough food.
01:05If you do not get rid of these kids, we will all starve to death.
01:10Their dad opposed furiously.
01:13No need to argue.
01:15I made up my mind.
01:17Tomorrow we'll take them to the woods and leave them there.
01:22Hearing all that, Gretel started to cry.
01:26Her brother Hansel comforted her.
01:37Please don't worry, Gretel.
01:39Somehow we'll find our way back home.
01:42Later that night, Hansel snuck out and collected as many pebbles as he could in his pockets.
01:56In the morning, they all started to walk towards the forest.
02:00Their father told them that they were going for a family hike.
02:04As they were walking, without anyone noticing, Hansel dropped the pebbles to mark the way back.
02:15In the afternoon, their dad and stepmother lit a fire and told them that they will be back soon.
02:22They walked off and vanished in the woods.
02:28Of course, they did not come back.
02:38When the night fell, the horrible sounds of all the wild animals in the forest started to echo around them.
02:44Shivering with the horrifying sounds of the wolves, Hansel and Gretel did not leave the fireside until the moonrise.
02:53Then they started to follow the pebbles shining in the moonlight and walked towards home.
02:58Well done, Hansel. This was very clever of you.
03:01When the kids came back home, their dad was very happy and surprised at the same time.
03:06Their stepmother also acted as if she was happy, but deep inside, her decision was still the same.
03:14She was very upset that they were back.
03:18After three days, the stepmother tried to get rid of them again.
03:24This time at night, she locked Hansel and Gretel's door and did not allow Hansel to collect pebbles again.
03:32But Hansel was a clever boy.
03:37When they were walking to the forest in the morning, this time he dropped the breadcrumbs that he had put in his pocket the night before
03:45and again made a trail the way back home.
03:51Around noon, their father and stepmother made up an excuse and went off, leaving them all alone in the forest again.
03:58Realising that they were not coming back, Hansel and Gretel wanted to start walking back home before it got dark.
04:06But this time, they could not find the trail they left, because all the breadcrumbs were eaten by the birds.
04:16Gretel started crying. For the first time, Hansel also felt hopeless.
04:21This time, the kids were really lost. With no food and scared to death, they wandered around the forest for three days.
04:30On the third day, they saw a bird, wide as snow. The bird chirped songs with its beautiful voice for them.
04:40They forgot their hunger for a moment and started to follow the bird.
04:54The bird brought them in front of a funny-looking house.
04:57This house had walls of bread, a roof made out of cake and windows of candy and was covered with colourful cream all around.
05:09Hansel and Gretel could not believe their eyes. The house looked incredibly delicious.
05:15The kids forgot all about how tired they were and started to run to the house.
05:19Just as they were both going to have a bite from the house, they heard a voice from inside.
05:29Oh! Now who is nippling on my house?
05:36They looked around and they saw a cute and sweet old lady at the door.
05:41When they told her all about what had happened to them, she felt very bad for them and so she let them in.
05:47The inside of the house was very different from the outside.
05:56It was dark, scary and it didn't feel right.
06:01But because they were so tired and hungry, the kids did not care much.
06:07The old lady brought all kinds of food and desserts for them and the kids ate food that they hadn't had before.
06:14That night, they slept on the softest bed they had ever seen.
06:21When they woke up in the morning, the old lady wasn't there.
06:27They started to look around.
06:30At the end of the corridor, they saw a small door.
06:35When they opened the door, they found cases full of gold and treasure inside.
06:42They were very surprised of course.
06:44Hansel wanted to get in and take a closer look.
06:48Right at that moment, they heard her voice again.
06:50And what do you think you are doing?
06:54When they turned around, the kids faced the witch standing right there in front of them.
07:00Apparently, the old lady was a witch leading the kids to her dungeon with a house covered with cake and candy.
07:09The kids tried to run away but the door was locked.
07:11The witch pulled Hansel by the hair and locked him in a cage.
07:18Then she dragged Gretel to the kitchen.
07:20Your brother is too skinny.
07:31Cook some food for him and make him fat.
07:34When he's in good shape, he'll be a delicious meal for me.
07:39But don't you dare eat anything.
07:42All the food is only for him.
07:45Having no choice, Gretel did what she asked for.
07:53Fortunately, Hansel was a clever and wise boy.
07:58He decided to trick the evil-hearted witch.
08:01Every night when the witch was asleep, he was digging a hole in the ground of the cage.
08:08The witch was controlling Hansel every morning to see if he gained weight or not.
08:13But Hansel wasn't eating anything his sister cooked.
08:19Instead, he was burying them in the hole that he digged.
08:23In the meantime, the witch was telling Gretel to cook more.
08:29This went on for days until finally the witch had enough.
08:33Fat skinny! I don't care anymore! Today I will make Hansel pie!
08:40She turned to Gretel.
08:42Look in the oven to see if the dough is baked enough!
08:46Although she was in fear, Gretel was also a wise girl just like her brother.
08:51She understood that the witch was going to push her in the oven.
08:53I can't get my head in there and see the dough!
08:59Whined Gretel.
09:01The witch pushed her aside and stuck her head inside.
09:05Gretel gathered all her strength and pushed the old witch into the oven
09:10and closed the oven door!
09:23Gretel knew where the witch was hiding the keys.
09:26She ran straight away and saved Hansel from the cage.
09:30The flames from the oven covered the whole house.
09:33Hansel and Gretel ran away from the burning house into the woods.
09:36woods but they did not know where to go. A while later they came across a river. A
09:44giant swan took them one by one to the other side of the river. The kids looked
09:51around and suddenly they realized where they were. They ran home as fast as they
09:58could. Seeing his kids father was full of joy. With tears of joy he explained to
10:06them how their stepmother had gone back to her parents house soon after they had
10:11left them in the forest. And how sorry he was for all that he did and no matter how
10:17hard he had searched for them they were nowhere to be found. The kids loved their
10:23father very much so they forgave him. But another surprise was waiting for their
10:29father. They both reached their pockets and brought out gold and diamonds they
10:36had found in the witch's home. Their father could not believe his eyes. All the
10:47problems that their family had ever had went away and they lived happily ever after.
11:10In a forest lived a rather rickety mouse.
11:14He was so afraid of the fox, the wolf and even himself for that matter that if the
11:22wind blew and a branch cracked he looked around for a hole he could hide in.
11:27Because of this all the little animals made fun of him.
11:33How scared is he? You're even scared of the wind! You're so scared! You're so scared! You're so scared!
11:48One day the mouse got his act together and went over to see the king of the jungle, the lion.
11:54The lion had just finished having his lunch. He was taking a nap in front of the cave.
12:01The mouse's friends were all curious as to what the mouse had planned.
12:07The mouse started to climb up the lion's tail.
12:14He got up on the lion's back. With a very confident look on his face, he posed to his friends.
12:22Although he was very scared, he was doing everything in his hand not to make it obvious.
12:28Right at that moment, the lion woke up. And as he shook his fur, the mouse fell off.
12:37The mouse and the lion came eye to eye.
12:44All the other animals were worried.
12:49Oh no! The lion won't swallow the mouse!
12:56What nerve! What courage! What are you doing on my back?
13:02Take out the jungle! Please don't eat me!
13:11I have the most scared and the most swallowable of them!
13:15But life passes off by shaking with fear!
13:22Evil leaf falls off of the tree!
13:25I'm scared! I'm fed up with this! I want to get rid of this fear!
13:31You're the king of the jungle! With just one big roar! The animals fear you!
13:37Would you consider taking me to your custody?
13:43The lion listened to the mouse in silence.
13:47The mouse was wondering what his reply was going to be.
13:50Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
13:57And why should I help you? Give me one good reason as to why I shouldn't eat you.
14:04Your help will be returned, I promise. Maybe one day I will help you.
14:13As soon as the mouse finished what he had to say, the lion roared in such a way!
14:19How can such a tiny mouse as yourself be of any help to me?
14:26But seeing the tiny mouse shaking in front of him, the lion decided not to eat him.
14:33Thank God I am full. Now get out of my sight!
14:38The mouse ran and got away from there.
14:41Watching all that was happening from afar, the friends of the mouse were really surprised.
14:46Some time had passed by, the lion got hungry and started wandering around in the forest.
14:52But he could not notice the hunter's trap and got caught.
14:56He was hung in the air in a big net.
15:01He tried to break free from the net, but he could not do it.
15:07He was the king of the forest, so if he could yell for help, he would be humiliated.
15:13And all the hunters would hear him and come to get him faster!
15:18Being out of options, he began to wait.
15:24Meanwhile, the other animals living in the forest noticed the lion.
15:31But nobody could dare get close to him.
15:38When he was passing by, Little Mouse saw the lion, and he decided to help him.
15:44He went directly next to him.
15:47He started to climb the lion's long tail, and when he reached the net, he began to chew on it.
15:58At that moment, the bunny came running next to them.
16:02Hey buddy, hurry up! The hunters are coming!
16:05The other animals, who were gathered around, suddenly started to run around when they heard the word, Hunter.
16:12But the mouse kept on chewing with persistence.
16:17In the end, the net was torn apart, and the lion fell down, and got away!
16:23Come on, jump on my back. Let's get out of here.
16:26The mouse jumped on the lion's back, and they got away from there.
16:29All breathless, the lion arrived in front of his cave.
16:36He kneeled down, and the mouse jumped off.
16:39When you told me that one day you might be able to help me, I underestimated you.
16:46I thought you were a tiny mouse with no use at all.
16:52But you saved my life.
16:57It's my pleasure, my king.
16:59You don't have to be afraid of me anymore.
17:02In fact, you do not need to fear anything, because you're a very courageous mouse.
17:08If I am the king of the jungle, from now on, you are my courageous brains.
17:15Lion and the mouse began to laugh.
17:29All the animals watching all that was happening from afar came out and applaud the courageous mouse.
17:40The lion and the mouse became best friends, and the forest lived in peace forever.
