00:00When you propose to someone in Notting Hill, it should be to someone who knows what that movie is.
00:05Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the Big Bang Theory plot points
00:10and character developments that remain as unsolved as Quantum Field Theory. Since plot
00:15points will be discussed, if you haven't watched the series in its entirety or you're still partway
00:20through Young Sheldon, expect spoilers ahead. I want all of them to be true. Well, one of them is.
00:27That's pretty cool.
00:30Number 30. Why did none of Amy and Sheldon's family come to the Nobel ceremony?
00:35To paraphrase Sheldon, his friends are his chosen family.
00:38And my other family, who I'm so happy to have here with us.
00:43But he also has a biological family, one he's relatively fond of. So wouldn't he want them
00:47there for the biggest moment of his professional life? Or at least Mary, who cut up hot dogs for
00:52his spaghetti and sang Soft Kitty when he was sick? Amy, too. Perhaps she's not as close to
00:57her parents, but wouldn't she still want them there? It's hardly about money. They did fly
01:01their five friends to Sweden and seemingly put them up in what looks like a very nice hotel.
01:06They could have saved money by bringing their parents instead. Then again, maybe Sheldon's
01:11speech wouldn't have been quite as sentimental.
01:13I apologize if I haven't been the friend you deserve. But I want you to know, in my way,
01:23I love you all.
01:25Number 29. How does Sheldon spend his grant money? Speaking of their Nobel prizes, we know
01:31those come with a generous grant.
01:33If I'm not mistaken, the Nobel comes with a substantial cash prize. What were you going
01:37to spend it on?
01:39I hadn't really thought about it. Sheldon's got his eyes on some new Dockers.
01:46Come on, do something for yourself.
01:48Raj talks Amy into spending a sliver of it on a shopping spree. But what about Sheldon? Over
01:53the years, he's mentioned futuristic inventions he's saving up for.
01:56Why do you have all these unopened paychecks in your desk?
02:00Because most of the things I'm planning to buy haven't been invented yet.
02:04So did the grant money go into that fund, or did he funnel it back into science? Maybe they
02:08both saved most of it for a rainy day, or the down payment on their future home. Sheldon is a
02:13meticulous planner when it comes to finances, so odds are he spent it wisely. Then again,
02:19maybe some of it's still hidden in a peanut brittle tin, or the hollowed out backside of a
02:23superhero figurine. The rest is divvied up between a small savings account, this deceptive container
02:28of peanut brittle, and the hollowed out buttocks of a superhero action figure who shall remain
02:33nameless for his own protection. Or her own protection.
02:40Number 28. Did Penny get herself out of debt? On the opposite end of the scale, Penny is not
02:46exactly known for her saving habits. No big deal. I'm just a little behind on my bills because I cut
02:52back my hours at the restaurant and my car broke down. We find out she's racked up quite a bit of
02:56debt, leaving Leonard quietly panicking about their financial future. Although, let's be honest,
03:01secretly stashing an entire bank account probably wasn't his smartest move either.
03:06Oh my god, Leonard, do you know what I could do with that kind of money?
03:08I do, and that's why I hid it.
03:10Once Penny leaves waitressing and acting behind and moves into pharmaceuticals,
03:14she finally seems to have a better handle on things, or at least enough money to pay someone
03:18else to handle it for her. It looks like she's earning enough to climb out of debt. But kids
03:23are not cheap. And given where we leave her, you do wonder if she ever fully shook that financial
03:28weight. I went to school for half my life. I have a doctorate. I'm still paying off college loans.
03:34Well, how much do you owe? Maybe I can help you out.
03:36Number 27. Does Howard ever go back out to the space station? Howard sure rides on his space trip
03:42for a very long time. From the wheel to the International Space Station, which I went to,
03:49honestly, this again? Fair enough. It was a huge deal. And despite what Sheldon says,
03:53they weren't yet handing out boarding passes to just anyone. Still, for all that talk,
03:58when the chance to go again comes up, Howard suddenly seems very happy to stay earthbound.
04:02I can get it higher. Just give me a second.
04:07Hello? Hi, Ma. How are you?
04:09How I am is not dead. But you wouldn't know that because you don't love me enough to pick up the
04:16phone. Go, go, go. We do wonder if he ever made a second trip. Maybe even just to escape family
04:21duties. Sorry, Bernie. Can't do the school run. I'm in space is a pretty unbeatable excuse. Then
04:27again, maybe his kids are what keep him grounded. Literally. And hey, even one trip to the International
04:33Space Station is still more than most. I'm amazing. I mean, this is even better than I dreamed.
04:38And yeah, I look out the window and it's all so unbelievable.
04:43Number 26. Where did Leslie Winkle go? After years off the radar, Leslie Winkle suddenly pops
04:49up at Sheldon's birthday party, where she's greeted by Leonard, who gives her a quick life update.
04:54Yeah, Penny and I got married.
04:56Oh, congratulations. You know, actually, I thought you'd be living with Sheldon forever.
05:01Yeah.
05:02Don't be a stranger.
05:06But where's she been this whole time? She was a recurring fixture for the first three seasons,
05:10then vanished until this one episode in season nine. Given her and Leonard's past,
05:15maybe they kept a polite distance. And honestly, we're not entirely sure what she's doing at Sheldon's
05:20party anyway, considering their history.
05:23Leslie Winkle.
05:24Yeah, Leslie Winkle. The answer to the question, who made Sheldon Cooper cry like a little girl?
05:29Is she still at the university? Did she move elsewhere? Did she and Sheldon finally declare
05:33a truce? We never find out because after this, she disappears again. No explanation,
05:39no closure, just gone.
05:41Oh, now you know I hate change. Say it.
05:43Happy birthday, dumbass!
05:46Number 25. What happened to Ramona Nowitzki?
05:49The last time we see Ramona Nowitzki, Amy is thanking her for giving Sheldon that final push
05:54to commit.
05:55Dr. Nowitzki?
05:57Oh, Dr. Fowler. Um, hello.
06:03Thank you. Thank you so much.
06:05Ramona may not flinch at kissing someone else's boyfriend, but she clearly draws the line at
06:10fiancés because she backs off after the engagement. In fact, we never see her again.
06:15Given how intense she could be, it's almost surprising they didn't throw in one last Ramona
06:20twist before the wedding.
06:21It doesn't seem to me to be such a freak
06:24To have you hanging off my ankle like some kind of ball of chain
06:32Maybe she finally accepted that she and Sheldon were never going to happen and buried herself
06:40in work. Or maybe she was just too mortified to show her face in Pasadena again. Still,
06:44given their similar fields, we wonder if they ever crossed paths later on.
06:48Why are you sitting by yourself?
06:51Oh, that's right. Sheldon's in New Jersey being engaged to Amy.
06:57I heard.
06:58Number 24. Did Penny ever finish her education?
07:01Penny may not be as book smart as the others, but she's plenty intelligent in her own way.
07:06It's not a big deal. Just taking a class at the Pasadena Community College.
07:10That's great. I didn't know you wanted to go back to school.
07:13It's just one history class. Look, I didn't finish college, so I thought I would give it a try.
07:17Throughout the series, she's always trying to broaden her horizons,
07:21whether it's taking lessons from Sheldon or joining community college.
07:24Unfortunately, the show never took her commitment to education as seriously as she did.
07:28It mostly served to move her relationship with Leonard along.
07:31Who are you talking to?
07:32Oh, just this guy I met at school.
07:34Oh, great. We're still dating, right?
07:38Relax. He's just a friend. We're doing an oral report together. He's really nice.
07:42Now that acting seems firmly behind her and she's stuck in a job she doesn't love,
07:46maybe she'd be motivated to go back to school.
07:49Like money earlier, that gets trickier as a mom.
07:52However, Penny and Leonard have plenty of people around who could help out while she earns her diploma.
07:56So, I know this goes without saying, but if either of you tell Leonard you help me rewrite this paper,
08:01I'll beat you both with a bag of oranges.
08:04Understood.
08:05Number 23. What did Sheldon do to his former roommate?
08:08In the flashback episode, we see Leonard briefly encounter Sheldon's former roommate and, well...
08:14Oh, I bet you're here to check out the room for rent.
08:16Yeah, run away, dude.
08:20What? Run fast, run far.
08:23Look, we get it. Sheldon is a difficult person to spend an afternoon with, let alone live with.
08:28So, it makes perfect sense he'd drive people away.
08:31But this roommate seems traumatized by whatever went down in that apartment.
08:34And since we don't even know how long they'd been living together,
08:37we can only guess how long it took this ticking time bomb to explode.
08:40Apparently, the one fella tried to adjust the thermostat,
08:43then the other fella went bat crap crazy.
08:46So you agree he's nuts?
08:48Well, not as nuts as the guy who chooses to live with him.
08:51Believe it or not, he was worse when I met him.
08:54Oh, I do not believe that.
08:55Things must have gotten pretty bad based on the...
08:57Let's call it decor in what became Leonard's room.
09:01We know Sheldon can be a massive pain, but geez, what finally tipped him over the edge?
09:06So Sheldon's last roommate tried to warn you off?
09:09For all I knew, he was the crazy one.
09:12He had this really deranged look.
09:15Yeah, he'd been living with Sheldon.
09:17Number 22. Why did Leonard's siblings never visit?
09:20We know Leonard has a brother and sister who are both wildly successful.
09:25Well, Leonard's younger brother Michael is a tenured law professor at Harvard,
09:28and his sister just successfully grew a human pancreas in an adolescent gibbon.
09:34So she's close to curing diabetes.
09:38Why else would you grow a pancreas in a teenaged gibbon?
09:40From what we hear, they probably got more nurturing from their mom than he did.
09:44Maybe that drove a wedge between them.
09:46That might explain why they skipped their brother's wedding,
09:49let alone never popped by any other time throughout the series.
09:53Oh, you had a party for your 60th?
09:56I wouldn't call it a party.
09:58Just a few close friends.
10:02And your sister and brother.
10:03Likewise, where are Bernadette's many siblings?
10:06Anyway, we've heard plenty about Leonard's unusual upbringing,
10:09but it would have been fascinating to see the Hofstadter siblings reunite
10:12and compare notes on growing up with Beverly as their mom.
10:15Perhaps, like Sheldon and Georgie,
10:17they remember their childhoods very differently.
10:19Or maybe the experience bonded them for life.
10:22Young Leonard, anyone?
10:23I know about that book.
10:25It's got, like, every horrible story from my childhood in it.
10:30Oh, cool. Are there pictures?
10:32Seriously, please find another book.
10:36Oh, come on, why? How bad could it be?
10:39Number 21.
10:40How was Beverly as a grandmother?
10:42While we're on the Hofstadters,
10:44we can't help but wonder what Beverly might be like as a grandmother.
10:47My parents focused on celebrating achievements,
10:50and being expelled from a birth canal was not considered one of them.
10:54It's so silly.
10:55It's actually based on very sound theories.
10:58His mother published a paper on it.
10:59Well, what was it called?
11:00I hate my son, and that's why he can't have cake.
11:03Does she learn from her mistakes with her children
11:05and finally give her grandbabies the affection she withheld from Leonard?
11:08She's written books on child-rearing,
11:10so she clearly thinks she has a good formula.
11:13Does she stick to it or try to adapt?
11:15Did you get to the chapter where she staged the Easter egg hunt with no eggs
11:18to see how long I'd keep looking?
11:21The answer, by the way, June.
11:24Do Leonard and Penny catch her running experiments on their kids?
11:27Maybe his research for another book?
11:28Based on how she and Leonard part ways last,
11:31we like to believe she realizes the best thing she can be
11:34is an unconditionally loving grandma.
11:36Still, she probably makes the kids call her doctor in public.
11:40If you need any more help from me, my books are available on Amazon.
11:44Logging off.
11:45Number 20.
11:46What was the deal with the pins on Howard's collar?
11:49Unlike many of the entries on this list,
11:51this one is one many may have overlooked.
11:54Oh, damn, I picked the wrong side.
11:56Throughout the run of the show, Howard was seen sporting many turtlenecks.
12:00But, have you ever noticed the little alien pin?
12:03That's what makes it get all funky.
12:09Yeah, okay.
12:10In virtually every episode,
12:12Howard can be seen with one of these pins on his turtleneck.
12:15They change shapes, sizes, and colors from episode to episode.
12:19But nothing in show ever gives us a clue as to their meaning.
12:22In a behind-the-scenes clip, costume designer Mary T. Quigley did say there was a reason for them.
12:28But we never did learn what it was.
12:30And the infamous alien pins that are always on the turtleneck.
12:35And there is a meaning behind them, which we will not tell you.
12:37Yes.
12:37You can try to get.
12:38Number 19.
12:39What happened to Stephanie?
12:40With so much emphasis on Leonard's adoration for Penny,
12:43it's easy to forget the other women he becomes involved with.
12:47One shining example is Stephanie Barnett.
12:49Things between you and me have been going pretty quick.
12:54And?
12:55It's just a little scary.
12:57Well, yeah, but scary good, right?
13:00Sure.
13:03When is scary not good?
13:06She and Leonard become romantically attached
13:08shortly after Leonard drives her home from a date with Howard.
13:11Even after Leonard texts her about not wanting to live together,
13:14it seems like things would continue.
13:16Yet she never reappears.
13:18I'll never have sex again.
13:19Oh, I was wrong.
13:26See ya.
13:28No on-screen breakup ever occurs.
13:31And unlike other exes in Leonard's life,
13:33she's never even mentioned again.
13:35Did not living together ultimately become a deal-breaker,
13:38or was it just time for the writers to shift things back to Penny?
13:41We're guessing the latter is true.
13:42She's heard about you because we're, you know, involved.
13:46And you haven't heard about her because...
13:49I never slept with her, I swear.
13:53Number 18.
13:55What kind of father does Sheldon become?
13:57Can you imagine someone like Sheldon as a dad?
14:00Through the events of young Sheldon,
14:02we learn that Sheldon and Amy have a son named Leonard and an unnamed daughter.
14:06I wanted his name to be Leonard Nimoy Cooper, but Amy wouldn't let me.
14:11Be happy I let you name him Leonard.
14:13Okay, okay.
14:14Given Sheldon's precarious history with his own father,
14:17fans became worried he might repeat some of those parenting patterns.
14:20I always wanted my dad to build rockets with me, but he wasn't interested.
14:24Ah, yes.
14:25Disappointing fathers.
14:26Tell me about it.
14:27When it comes to Sheldon, however, we know that he can change his worldviews.
14:31For the 12 years we saw him on television,
14:34he came to grow far beyond his original struggles.
14:37Really? You thought about our kids?
14:40Of course.
14:41I think you and I will have exceptional children.
14:43We'd like to think that as a father,
14:45he'd give his kids everything he didn't get as a young child,
14:48even if Amy sometimes had to give him that first little push.
14:51Hey, smartest man in the world.
14:55I brought you to the water.
14:57Take a freaking sip.
14:59You're drawing a parallel?
15:01Yes.
15:03Number 17.
15:04What was Penny's sister like?
15:05Unlike the rest of her family,
15:07audiences never got to meet Penny's sister Lisa.
15:10First mentioned in season one,
15:11we don't come to learn much about her even after 12 seasons.
15:15I mean, right, my sister shot her husband,
15:17but it was an accident.
15:18They were drunk.
15:20What we do know is that she apparently shot her husband by accident while intoxicated,
15:24had her water break during the father-daughter dance at her wedding,
15:27and she's apparently quite adept at finding personal information on the internet about Penny's love life.
15:32My friends at work found it.
15:33My sister found it.
15:34Judging by my email,
15:35well, a number of prisoners at the Michigan State Penitentiary found it.
15:39Given what little information we do know,
15:42it sounds like she's got as much spunk to her as Penny.
15:45However, much like Leonard's siblings,
15:47the true nature of Lisa's personality will likely remain an unsolved mystery.
15:52Number 16.
15:53What are Sheldon and Amy doing post-Nobel?
15:55The Nobel Committee will be making the calls to inform the winners at any minute.
16:00So the only drug I need is the endorphins pumping through my brain in anticipation of our victory.
16:04In the final season of The Big Bang Theory,
16:06both Sheldon and Amy are nominated for a Nobel Prize.
16:10After an early morning phone call,
16:11they learn they have won and the gang celebrates.
16:15Oh my God.
16:16We did it.
16:17I know.
16:18Can you believe it?
16:20That's a good point.
16:21What if I'm dreaming?
16:22Ah!
16:22We won the Nobel Prize!
16:33Since the episode ends with Amy and Sheldon receiving their award,
16:37we're not given any clues as to the direction their careers take.
16:40What exactly comes next after you've won a Nobel Prize in the world of science?
16:44Given Sheldon's lifelong obsession with the Nobel,
16:47it leaves the door open to a lot of possibilities once he's crossed that item off his list.
16:51We imagine his next step is probably to solve anything deemed previously unsolvable
16:57to prove his brain is better than everybody's once and for all.
17:00I have no doubt that that will be the case.
17:03Number 15.
17:04Does Alfred ever visit Mary after meeting at the wedding?
17:06Perhaps one of the most unexpected yet hilarious moments from the pre-wedding dinner
17:10is what unfolds between two parents.
17:12So after your husband passed, you never remarried?
17:16No, just focused on work and the church.
17:19And what do you do?
17:20I work at the church.
17:23As Leonard's father Alfred leaves the dinner, Sheldon's mother Mary accompanies him.
17:28With the two intending to share a nightcap together,
17:30speculation unfolds among the boys as to what's going to happen.
17:33I don't like this at all.
17:36I don't like it either.
17:38Really?
17:38Because I love it.
17:43We learn the next day the two have become friends
17:45and hope to visit each other in the near future.
17:47Which of course begs the question,
17:49whatever happened between these two?
17:51The possibilities of where that story could have gone are endless.
17:54If only young Sheldon had given us a hint
17:57at whether these two ever ended up together.
17:59Number 14.
18:00Does Sheldon ever change?
18:02Even up to the very last episode of the show,
18:04Sheldon is often portrayed as being quite self-centered and condescending.
18:08I realized I can go to your aunt's awful party
18:11and still spend the whole day gaming with my friends.
18:16Both Amy and his friends tolerate his behavior
18:18knowing full well he never intends any ill will towards those closest to him.
18:22In the final episode,
18:24Sheldon comes to realize just how hurtful he can be
18:26and chooses to share his Nobel spotlight with his extended family.
18:30I have been encouraged,
18:33sustained,
18:35inspired,
18:36and tolerated,
18:38not only by my wife,
18:41but by the greatest group of friends anyone ever had.
18:44It begs the question as to whether or not
18:46this major moment in his life causes him to change.
18:49We're given a peek at him through the eyes of young Sheldon,
18:51and it seems his innate Sheldon-ness cannot be erased,
18:55even if family life appears to have matured him somewhat.
18:58That must have been great,
19:00having parents who supported you,
19:01despite all your differences.
19:03Oh, yes.
19:05Looking back, that was...
19:07that was the ultimate gift.
19:09Number 13.
19:10What happens to Amy's apartment after the repairs are done?
19:13When Amy's apartment needs to undergo some work,
19:16she adopts Penny's old place
19:17and begins her five-week mission of living with Sheldon.
19:20I accept this five-week mission
19:22to share a living space with my girlfriend.
19:24But once the repairs to Amy's place are complete,
19:26the two of them agree to remain there permanently.
19:29Are you saying you'd like to live with me?
19:32I'm open to the possibility.
19:33We never see or hear anything about Amy's old apartment afterwards.
19:37Sure, they agree to stay,
19:38but much of their apartment continues to be Penny's old stuff.
19:43What happens to all of Amy's things,
19:44or even the apartment itself?
19:46It would have been quite funny
19:47to watch the two debate
19:48over what stuff Amy's gonna keep
19:50versus things Sheldon doesn't want
19:51anywhere near the apartment.
19:53Of course, there's always your apartment.
19:57Sure, sure.
19:58We could live in my apartment.
20:00I hate your apartment.
20:03Number 12.
20:04What did Howard's mom look like?
20:07Howard, it's the phone!
20:10I know it's the phone, Ma.
20:14I hear the phone!
20:16Well, who's calling at this ungodly hour?
20:19Over the course of the entire show,
20:21Howard's mom was a bit of a running gag.
20:24Like Vera's unseen face on Cheers,
20:26Debbie Wolowitz was a character we never saw,
20:29but certainly heard.
20:30Howard, are you having a playdate?
20:32Playdates!
20:34Don't have playdates!
20:36I have colleagues!
20:37Do their parents know they're here?
20:41No, but if you keep screaming,
20:43maybe they'll hear you!
20:46Portrayed as an overprotective and obnoxious mother,
20:49Debbie Wolowitz was in the show up until season 8.
20:52The character was retired after her voice actress,
20:54Carol Ann Susie, tragically passed away.
20:57I didn't care for her yelling,
20:59but now that I'm not going to hear it again,
21:02I'm sad.
21:04If you want, I can yell at you later.
21:08It won't be as good.
21:10With the character now absent from the show,
21:12the mystery of what she looked like would always be there.
21:15Keen observers have noted that a photo of Susie
21:17can be seen on the side of the fridge in the boy's apartment.
21:20It's a close hint at what she could have looked like,
21:22while still not being an outright confirmation.
21:25Number 11.
21:26What does Penny's future look like?
21:28When a show comes to an end,
21:29fans always hope that the writers find a way
21:31to give their characters a satisfying ending.
21:34So you're saying the inevitability of change
21:37might be a universal constant?
21:39Well, there's a little more to it than that,
21:41but yeah, sure.
21:43By all accounts,
21:44Penny seems to be in a good place when things conclude.
21:47But how does it all play out?
21:48We mentioned before how she struggled to find happiness,
21:51so we wonder if that continues as she became a mother.
21:54Speaking of which,
21:55that was something she wasn't keen on being for such a long time,
21:59so how does that all play out?
22:00Okay, that's it for the fish.
22:03I'll be back with the meatballs after a short word from our sponsor.
22:07Oh, thank you.
22:09Does she keep her career in pharmaceuticals?
22:11Do she and Leonard stay together?
22:13Of all the characters on this show,
22:15Penny is likely the one whose life may have gone in a different direction.
22:18Can you believe it?
22:20They finally fixed the elevator.
22:23Number 10.
22:24Is Penny happy?
22:25Of all the characters on this show,
22:28Penny could be described as the one who's both grown the most,
22:31yet struggled the hardest with happiness.
22:32I finally realized I don't need to be famous
22:35or have some big career to be happy.
22:36Then what do you need?
22:38You, you stupid Pop-Tart!
22:39For a long time,
22:43she thinks fame from an acting career will make her happy,
22:46but finds herself floundering in such a field.
22:48Her struggle to find happiness extends further
22:50into her relationship with Leonard,
22:52her new career in pharmaceuticals,
22:54and eventually the idea of becoming a mother.
22:56So, when all is sudden done,
22:58does she ever really find true happiness?
23:01Stewart once says,
23:02Together, you two kind of make one awesome person.
23:07Oh, Stewart!
23:09Which makes a good case for her future.
23:11After struggling so much with finding happiness,
23:14is Leonard, her baby, and career success
23:16enough to finally make her happy?
23:18So, do you wanna?
23:22Well, I can't get more pregnant.
23:24We'll see about that.
23:27Number 9.
23:28Does Stewart become successful?
23:29He may not go down in history
23:31as having won a Nobel Prize,
23:32or visiting the International Space Station.
23:34But Stewart Bloom does start to see some success
23:37as the show comes to a close.
23:38We're looking for a recommendation about comic books.
23:41Oh, well, I recommend you don't open a store and sell them.
23:45After losing his comic book store to a fire,
23:47it comes back better than ever.
23:49It even brings love into his life when he hires Denise.
23:52I mean, the HAV WA-5 turbo tank
23:55has metal gripping wheels,
23:57but I wouldn't call them tires.
23:58You're so hot.
24:04So, inevitably, we wonder,
24:07does Stewart find any other successes in his life later on?
24:10Does he turn his store into a franchise
24:11and take down Capital Comics?
24:13Or does he come back to his artistic side
24:15and become a professional comic book illustrator?
24:17With a Stewart-centered spinoff reportedly in the works,
24:20there's still time for these questions to be answered.
24:23Number 8.
24:23What kind of parents are Leonard and Penny?
24:26In the final episodes of the show,
24:28we learned that Leonard and Penny
24:29were expecting their first child.
24:31Just tell people...
24:31No, it's too early.
24:32I haven't even wrapped my head around it.
24:33I have...
24:34My head is wrapped.
24:35Yeah, well...
24:36If something else had been wrapped,
24:38we wouldn't be in this situation.
24:40This came as a shock to viewers,
24:42as Penny didn't seem enthusiastic about the idea.
24:44The question is,
24:45would you like to have kids?
24:47So, yeah, we want kids.
24:48Yeah, someday.
24:49Like in the next five years?
24:51Sure.
24:52Next question?
24:53After hearing her go back and forth on the idea several times,
24:56learning that she would definitely become a mom
24:58was certainly a huge surprise.
25:00That just leaves the mystery of how they'd be as parents.
25:03Neither of them had conventional upbringings.
25:06I see.
25:06So, you're here to tell me all the ways that I failed you as a mother.
25:10Yeah.
25:10Yeah.
25:12And get comfortable,
25:13because it's a long list.
25:15Both Leonard's relationship with his mom
25:17and Penny's relationship with her dad
25:18certainly had their ups and downs.
25:20Well, that hurts me deeply.
25:21I'm sorry, Daddy.
25:22Let me finish.
25:23However, given the love between the couple
25:25and what they learned from their own pasts,
25:27we're confident they became fantastic parents.
25:30Number 7.
25:31What happened with Howard's half-brother?
25:33We hear countless times over the show's run
25:35about how Howard's father left the family.
25:37Yeah, well, my quality father-son time
25:39was spending my adolescence looking out the window
25:41waiting for my dad to come back someday.
25:44So, it was a big surprise to learn that Sam Wolowitz
25:47had an entire other life with additional children.
25:50Are you saying they're my half-brother?
25:52I think so.
25:56Bernadette, weird things are happening out here!
26:00In Season 8, we meet Howard's half-brother, Josh,
26:03who shows up unexpectedly at his home.
26:05After a bit of a rough start,
26:07the two hit it off
26:07and seemingly intend to continue
26:09to learn more about each other.
26:10And then, nothing.
26:12Viewers never see Josh
26:14nor hear his name spoken
26:15for the rest of the show's run.
26:17Fans are left to make up their own interpretation
26:20of how this new sibling bond evolves.
26:22You are my brother.
26:24Number 6.
26:25Will Leonard's relationship with his mother improve?
26:28Your mother's here?
26:32Leonard's mom was introduced
26:33as a high-achieving academic
26:35with little regard for any accomplishment
26:37her son ever made.
26:38He spent his whole life
26:39trying to please his mother,
26:41while she ignored him.
26:43She thought this would all bring him strength,
26:44but instead, this parenting method
26:46merely created an emotional wall
26:48between the two.
26:49That's not really in my control, is it?
26:53Oh, yes.
26:56As the show comes to an end,
26:58Leonard finally decides he's had enough
27:00and forgives her.
27:01I didn't ask you to forgive me.
27:02Too bad.
27:03I forgive you anyway.
27:06And I forgive myself
27:07for taking so long to do it.
27:09It's there we see her give him
27:10his first real piece of affection,
27:13something he yearned for all along.
27:15Could this have been a sign
27:16of better things to come?
27:18Number 5.
27:19Does Howard ever get his PhD?
27:21Hello, boys.
27:22Dr. Gablehauser.
27:23Dr. Kuthapali.
27:24Dr. Gablehauser.
27:25Dr. Hofstadter.
27:25Dr. Gablehauser.
27:26Dr. Cooper.
27:27Dr. Gablehauser.
27:28Mr. Wolowitz.
27:30Early on, we learned that Howard
27:31received his master's degree from MIT,
27:34but did not get his doctorate.
27:36As much as he is accomplished as an engineer,
27:39it's never stopped his friends and colleagues
27:41from poking fun at his lack of a PhD.
27:43Dr. Sheldon, I'm more than smart enough
27:45to take your class.
27:48No.
27:51For a moment in Season 8,
27:53we thought he might get there
27:54with help from Sheldon,
27:55but that didn't pan out.
27:56Dr. I am your professor,
27:58and you're going to treat me
27:59with the proper...
28:00You shot your spit in my mouth!
28:07Dr. Is that going to be on the test
28:11because I don't think I can do that again!
28:13We wonder if Sheldon and Amy's Nobel win
28:16may have given Howard a bit of a push
28:17to earn his last degree.
28:19If so, he could finally be called Dr. Wolowitz.
28:23It would certainly be an improvement
28:24over Wala Wizard.
28:26Number 4.
28:26Will Raj ever get married?
28:28For six years of the show's run,
28:30Raj suffered through selective mutism
28:32whenever he was around women.
28:34This certainly caused his fair share
28:35of relationship issues.
28:36Even when he faced the issue head-on,
28:39his inability to maintain
28:40a long-term, stable relationship
28:42followed him until the series ended.
28:44It's been a long time
28:45since I've seen a girl's...
28:47really not her shoulder.
28:49It always seemed that Raj's biggest hurdle
28:51was his inner battle
28:52of wanting to be happy
28:53versus wanting to make someone else happy.
28:56When the show wrapped,
28:57Raj was still single,
28:58but content among his friends.
29:00Does he ever manage to find a girl
29:02who knows what Nodding Hill
29:03was really about?
29:04And I don't think she's
29:05waiting for you in England.
29:09When you propose to someone
29:11in Nodding Hill,
29:13it should be to someone
29:13who knows what that movie is.
29:15Number 3.
29:16What is Penny's maiden name?
29:18After 279 episodes,
29:21you might have thought
29:22we'd know the full names
29:23of all the major characters.
29:24Since we've already memorized
29:26Kutrupali and Rostankowski,
29:28you'd think the writers
29:29would have given us
29:29Penny's original last name.
29:31Big deal.
29:31Not knowing is part of the fun.
29:33Not knowing is part of the fun.
29:34Was that the motto
29:35of your community college?
29:38Alas,
29:38this appears to be a question
29:39that they never really
29:40intended to answer.
29:42In fact,
29:42as time went on,
29:43it became a bit of a superstition
29:45to not give her
29:46a last name at all.
29:47Finally,
29:47there's a Mrs. Hofstetter
29:48who isn't disappointed in me.
29:51Oh,
29:51the night is still young.
29:54Fans have theorized
29:55about her name
29:56and have come up
29:57with several creative possibilities.
29:59However,
29:59the producers
30:00and writers
30:01have stood firm
30:02that this was a question
30:03they never really
30:04intended to answer.
30:05Thank you all
30:06for this high honor.
30:09Number two.
30:10Did Howard ever reconcile
30:12with his dad?
30:13While often played for laughs,
30:14Howard's relationship
30:15with his estranged dad
30:16is also one
30:17that gives the show
30:18some of its best moments.
30:19Maybe he apologizes
30:20or explains why he left.
30:22He abandoned me
30:23and my mother.
30:25Why does he deserve
30:26a chance
30:27to explain anything?
30:28The entire letter episode
30:30shows how truly
30:31conflicted Howard is
30:32about his father.
30:33And given that he learns
30:34his dad has a whole
30:35other family,
30:36it would have been
30:37pretty easy for him
30:37to reach out
30:38and reconnect.
30:39Look at this.
30:40Photos of Walowitz's family
30:41before father left forever.
30:45But even with
30:46all of those small details,
30:48we never find out
30:49if Howard ultimately
30:49does try to reconcile
30:50with Sam.
30:51Given how emotionally
30:52heavy that would be,
30:54we can understand
30:55leaving it out.
30:55But that doesn't stop us
30:57from wondering what his dad
30:58may think of his son's
30:59accomplishments.
31:00Glad you're feeling better.
31:01Me too.
31:03If I'd known
31:03we were going to be dancing,
31:04I would have worn my flats.
31:06Which brings us to...

31:24Number 1.
31:25What was the deal
31:26with Howard's dad?
31:27One of the ongoing
31:28story elements
31:29of The Big Bang Theory
31:30was how Howard
31:31dealt with his father's
31:32departure.
31:33In numerous episodes
31:34throughout the show's run,
31:36we learned that Howard's dad
31:37left him and his mom
31:38when he was a kid.
31:39Where's my daddy puppet?
31:41He never saw his father
31:43nor heard from him
31:44at any point afterwards.
31:46During a season 6 episode,
31:48Sheldon uncovers
31:48a letter to Howard
31:50detailing what happened.
31:51But Howard
31:52doesn't want to know.
31:53Howard,
31:53did you want to know
31:54what's in the letter?
31:54If I wanted to know,
31:55I would have opened it
31:55years ago.
31:56The gang opts to give him
31:58six different stories
31:59about his dad,
31:59with one being true.
32:01It provides the audience
32:02and Howard their own
32:04Schrodinger's cat.
32:05We all both know
32:06and don't know
32:07the answer at the same time.
32:09Which one do you think
32:10it is?
32:12Matey?
32:13Actually, I don't
32:18want to know.
32:20I want all of them
32:22to be true.
32:23Well, one of them is.
32:25That's pretty cool.
32:27Thank you, guys.
32:29Do you have any theories
32:30on these unanswered questions?
32:31Give us your hypothesis
32:32in the comments.
32:33I guess the only thing
32:34that actually stays the same
32:36is that things
32:36are always changing.
32:39Interesting.
32:40Interesting.
