00:00I never thought I'd see the day that she sold the Lakers.
00:05And I got to be honest with you.
00:06I think she's, well, she's 63.
00:09I think, I said yesterday, if she would have waited 10 years,
00:12I think they would have been worth $20 billion.
00:16But then again, she sold them for $10 billion and, I mean,
00:21and still owns 15% of the team.
00:23She's set for life.
00:25She already was, but now she really is.
00:27Now it's like really locked in her, her future family,
00:33everyone that she knows that's in her family.
00:35And, and then some going generations with that kind of money.
00:39Well, she exactly, Scott, she has the best of both worlds as well.
00:42So she cashes in.
00:43She was already obviously set for life, but now she has, you know,
00:49serious money.
00:50She's a big philanthropist, right?
00:52So I guess there's like no one really next in line that she wanted to leave
00:56the team to, so to speak.
00:58She does do a lot like behind the scenes in the community.
01:02She donates.
01:03She's really into women's rights and women's empowerment and all that stuff.
01:07In fact, she, she created that while wrestling league,
01:11which is like woman, the woman of wrestling,
01:14it's on like syndicated cable on Sunday nights and one in the morning type of
01:18deal, but she supports it, right?
01:20Like, so she has a lot of things going.
01:23I've always been a fan of hers and $10 billion, a lot of money, Scott.
01:27I mean, the family paid 67 million for it.
01:30Now they cash out a 10 billion.
01:33But what,
01:33what I'm fascinated by was the fact that it's essentially the Los Angeles
01:37Dodgers that now own the LA Lakers.
01:40And I've told people for years,
01:42the Dodgers are the kingpins of that city.
01:44Like the Lakers don't have enough money to buy the Dodgers.
01:47The Dodgers have enough money to buy the Lakers, right?
01:50And we just saw this play out right now, but, um, you know,
01:54Mark Walter on a sports just sort of, you know, monopoly right now, Scott,
02:00Chelsea, uh, Dodgers, LA Lakers,
02:04Cadillac, a formula one, the new team,
02:06formula one team coming in the new Cadillac F one team,
02:10WNBA teams, uh, PWHL teams.
02:14He basically owns a little piece of everything.
02:17That's kind of the world we're in right now.
02:19And if you're the Lakers as well, if you're a Laker fan,
02:23I should say, and I see Laker fans are very happy about this, Scott,
02:28because they see the, the aggression, right?
02:31Like some owners want to build their sports portfolio.
02:33Look at a guy in Boston, John Henry.
02:35He wants to build a sports portfolio.
02:37He doesn't really care about winning, right?
02:40It's not about winning.
02:41It's about me owning and making money off these teams, right?
02:44Like the glazers and stuff like these owners that they want to own EPL teams,
02:48NFL teams and baseball teams.
02:50They don't really care if they win.
02:52They're just, they've already won by owning all the teams.
02:54This dude wants to win.
02:56Like, you know,
02:57and as you see what the Los Angeles Dodgers,
02:59how aggressive they are now there's a salary cap with the Lakers.
03:01One thing I will say, I think if you're Rob Palenka,
03:04you have to be a little bit concerned moving forward, you know,
03:08like post-LeBron era, because he's a big, like, bus.
03:12Like how much impact is bus going to have on the team?
03:14She is on the board of governors, but fascinating to me, Scott,
03:17that the LA Dodgers are the ones that end up purchasing the team.
