00:00what about this script made you excited to join the waterfront um i just think that it you know

00:06when you when you read the pilot episode there's so much to like i mean there's you have such a kind

00:12of um a complicated cast of characters and you know they're kind of they're constantly being

00:19kind of thrown into an environment that is uncomfortable for them and that's always

00:25interesting to see especially in a drama um but the thing that really uh that i really loved about

00:32reading the pilot was that it was funny and there was like there are these moments of levity that

00:36actually you know would made me laugh out loud so there's that element um of the show i think is like

00:45really um what's going to be the thing that that brings viewers back well i was going to say because

00:52your character he might be part of the drug smuggling but he doesn't really seem like he's

00:55equipped for it which was like made him stand out to me was it more challenging after past roles to

01:01play someone who's like so startled by this like life of crime and is always like so surprised

01:06by these scenarios he ends up with compared to like his dad right i i do that i think that's what kind

01:14of um pulled me uh towards towards playing this character and kind of i i think there's there's

01:22something about him uh and his look all these characters they come from privilege right i think

01:30they're very much used to knowing what they are getting what they want rather and so when you see

01:36things that when things don't go their way is where the drama ensues and um and i think that's

01:44what's really interesting about kane is that he's so used to things going his way so when all of this

01:50when the the proverbial hits the fan it's all of a sudden he's uh kind of reverts back to being this

01:58you know a child um and uh yeah i think that's what makes his character so kind of unpredictable and

02:07he's desperately trying to cling on to this life that he kind of you know maybe didn't

02:15originally plan on having and um so yeah it's pretty complicated
