President Trump takes questions from reporters on the White House lawn as he watches workers install a 100-foot flagpole.
Transcript
00:00The White House opened about 1800, a little before that, just a tad, and I've always said,
00:13why does it have a flagpole from the grass? They caught a flagpole from the grass. They have a
00:17little one on top, a very little one. This is about the largest you'll ever see, and it's
00:24tapered. It's an equality that you guys rarely get to even put up. They do that for a living.
00:31They're incredible people. I don't know them, but I love them, and I would bet that they all
00:36voted for Trump. I mean, I don't know for a fact, but I think so, but we're about to lift it,
00:42and we also have one going on what's called the front of the north. We have one going there,
00:46identical, so we'll have one on this side of the building. We'll have one on that side of the
00:50building properly placed. In this case, we had a lot of choices, putting it on that hill,
00:55putting it different places. It's such a beautiful pole, we thought we'd put it near. I mean,
01:00it always looks best when it's near. A Doral, I put it right near. I have a similar pole,
01:06and these are the best poles anywhere in the country, or in the world, actually. They're tapered.
01:13They have the nice top. You know, I don't know if you people are aesthetic. You know, they're the fake
01:18news. I don't know if I'm, I don't know there, but it's a very exciting project to me, and then
01:23at 11 o'clock, we're lifting the flag, but we're going to lift the pole now, and then they're going
01:27to the other side, get that, and then we're going to do, I think, two flag liftings. We'll be putting
01:32it up at 11 on here, and a couple of minutes later on the other side, we'll start here at 11.
01:37So that'll be very nice, very patriotic. We're doing well, and as a country, if the Fed would ever lower
01:43rates, you know, would buy debt for a lot less, it's a shame. This guy, I have a guy, do you ever
01:48have a guy that's not a smart person, and you're dealing with him, and you have to deal, he's not
01:52a smart guy. He's worried about inflation. I said, that's right. If there's inflation in six months or
01:56nine months, you lower the rates, or you raise the rates. You can do whatever you want, Brian, right?
02:01So let's say there's rampant inflation, which there's none. You know what? There is a success.
02:07I got a call from Congress last night, sir, there's a problem. I said, what is it? Money is pouring in. We don't
02:12know how to account for it. I said, check the tariffs. $88 billion came in from tariffs, no
02:18inflation, and it's going to get even more so. I know what I'm doing. So we have a stupid person,
02:25frankly, at the Fed. He probably won't cut today. Europe had 10 cuts, and we had none. And I guess
02:33he's a political guy. I don't know. He's a political guy who's not a smart person, but he's costing the
02:38country a fortune. So what I'm going to do is, you know, he gets out in about nine months. He has to,
02:44he gets fortunately terminated. Biden, I would have never reappointed him. Biden reappointed him. I don't
02:49know why that is, but I guess maybe he was a Democrat. You know, I got great advice from Mnuchin on this one,
02:55great advice. But he's done a poor job. So we have no inflation. We have only success. And I'd like to see
03:03interest rates get down. Now, Biden did a lot of very short-term debt. So we have short-term debt
03:09coming, you know. And because of this guy's rates, you know, if he'd lowered a point, I'd pay about a
03:15point less. Then if it lowered two points, I'd pay about two points less. And that's for 10 years,
03:2112 years, 15 years, five years. It's hundreds of billions. It's even trillions of dollars that we're
03:29going to lose because of this too late. I call him too late pal because he's always too late.
03:34I mean, if you look at him, every time I did this, I was right 100%. He was wrong. Maybe I should go to
03:40the Fed. Do you think, am I allowed to appoint myself, Doug? I don't know. Am I allowed to appoint
03:44myself at the Fed? I'd do a much better job than these people. So anyway, we should be two points
03:49lower. It'd be nice to be two and a half points lower. We'd be saving $800 billion, $700 billion. That's a lot
03:57of money. Thank you. For nothing. For absolutely nothing. We'd save $600, $700, $800 billion. We have,
04:06I think, we're 38th now in interest. And we should be number one. We should be the lowest.
04:12But, and by the way, if he's worried about inflation, that's okay. I understand that.
04:16I don't think there's going to be any. So far, there hasn't. I mean, we have almost no inflation.
04:21We've done a great job. We had, when I came in, we had a lot of inflation. We went through four years
04:26of the highest inflation in the history of our country with sleepy Joe Biden and sleepy Joe.
04:34And he didn't know what the hell he was doing. And so we had the highest inflation we've ever had
04:40in the history of our country. And then it came down because when I got elected, it started dropping
04:45because people understood that I knew what I was doing. But now we have a man that just refuses to
04:52lower the Fed rate. Just refuses to do it. And he's not a smart person. I don't even think he's
04:57that political. I think he hates me, but that's okay. You know, he should. He should. I call him
05:02every name in the book, trying to get him to do something. I've been nice to him. I do it always.
05:06I don't know how to sell. I've been so nice to him, fellas. You wouldn't believe. Let's have dinner.
05:11Too late. I call him too late. Come on, too late. Let's have dinner.
05:14I do it every way in the book. I'm nasty. I'm nice. Nothing works. He's like just a stupid
05:20person. But I don't expect anything. Maybe he does a little bit. But we should be two
05:26and a half points. Remember, Europe had 10 cuts. We had none. We're paying more rate,
05:32more interest than a lot of European nations that can't carry our suitcase. I'm going to be
05:38nice. It's another expression. You know what the other expression can carry or you know
05:43what it is. But I shouldn't use it in front of the fake news. So it's very sad to see it. And
05:48what I'm going to do is I'm going to go very short term, like six months, seven months, eight
05:52months. Wait till this guy gets out, get the rates way down, and then go long term.
05:57Because we have a tremendous appetite for our debt. Because our country is doing well. But think
06:03of it. I got a call from Congress three nights ago. Sir, we can't account for the money coming in.
06:08I said, that's a good problem. You know, the bad problem is we don't have any money.
06:13They can't account. There's so much more money than we thought is coming into the Treasury.
06:18We don't know where it's coming from, sir. I said, check out the tariffs. He calls back about
06:22a day later. Wow. I think you were right. Yeah, I was right. That's nothing. You haven't seen anything
06:28yet. More importantly than the money coming in, we have factories being built AI,
06:33auto factories. Two of them stopped yesterday in Mexico, you read. And they're coming here
06:39because they don't want to pay the tariffs. They can't pay the tariffs. It doesn't work.
06:43So I just want to wish you a lot of luck with the new flagpole. We have two of them.
06:49And we're going to do this one now. Then we're going to do the other one. 11 o'clock or so.
06:53We're going to have a flag raising, which would be great. And I got to get these guys back to work.
06:57They're making a fortune. They're standing around making a fortune. But remember, there's somewhere
07:03in this group, there's somebody that is going to captivate some movie producer. Not Harvey Weinstein,
07:10but Harvey's seen a better day. So it won't be Harvey, but it'll be somebody. And he'll say,
07:16that guy is perfect for a movie. And you're going to become a star. And your friends are going to
07:22call you. And you won't even return their phone call anymore. Because you say, what do you do for
07:27a living? I put up flagpoles. I'm not even going to talk to you. I'm a big movie star. So some way
07:32you have that. Anyway, let's have a good, they call it a lifting. They also use another word,
07:40but I'm not going to use that word. Do you know what that is? The word, it starts with an E.
07:44You know what the word is? If I ever used it, I'd be run out of town
07:48by you people. All right. So enjoy it. Doug, you're going to get some good. He's going to
07:52win another Nobel Prize, I think, for this picture. So maybe the flag will be even more exciting.
07:58But this is pretty exciting. I have some equipment, I'll tell you what. Look at that phrase.
08:02That's some beautiful equipment. There's nothing like America. Have a good time.
08:07Mr. President, have you been to answer questions about whether you are moving closer or you believe
08:13that the U.S. is moving closer to striking Iranian nuclear facilities? Where's your mindset on that?
08:17The President, I can't say that, right? You don't seriously think I'm going to answer that question.
08:22Will you strike the Iranian nuclear component? And what time exactly, sir? Sir, would you strike it?
08:29Would you please inform us so we can be there and watch? I mean, you don't know that I'm going to even do it.
08:35You don't know. I may do it. I may not do it. I mean, nobody knows what I'm going to do.
08:38I can tell you this, that Iran's got a lot of trouble and they want to negotiate.
08:45And I said, why didn't you negotiate with me before? All this death and destruction. Why didn't you negotiate?
08:51I said to the people, why didn't you negotiate with me two weeks ago? You could have done fine.
08:57You would have had a country. It's very sad to watch this.
09:01I've never said anything like it. It's so, you know, everyone thought it was going to be the reverse.
09:06I didn't. I didn't think so. And I was telling them, you got to, you got to do something.
09:10You got to negotiate. And at the end, last minute, they said, no, we're not going to do that.
09:15And they got hit. Remember 60 days? And then came the 60, 61 is going to become a very famous number.
09:21That was one hell of a hit. That first hit, that was one hell of a hit.
09:24Not sustainable, to be honest. That's where it ended. It ended on the first night. Yes.
09:29Is it too late, though? Do you think it's too late to now?
09:31Not really. Nothing's too late. The only thing too late is Powell. Powell's too late. Too late Powell.
09:37Have the Iranians reached out to you, Mr. President?
09:40What? Have the Iranians reached out to you?
09:41Yes. And what did they say?
09:44I said, it's very late. You know? I said, it's very late to be talking.
09:51Mr. President.
09:52We may meet. It's, it's, uh, I don't know. There's a big difference between now and a week ago, right? Big difference.
09:59Mr. President, you said you may meet, but I said, we may meet. Is this about Vance and which part of the joint department?
10:05It's about anybody. They even suggest that they come to the White House. It's a big difference.
10:11But they've suggested that they come to the White House. That's, you know, courageous, but, you know, it's like not easy for them to do.
10:19But they suggest, because I can't go now because of what's going on.
10:23I had to come back early from the G7, which was terrific, by the way, in Canada.
10:27Really terrific. Good people.
10:28Is there a possibility of next week or sooner that you're some visa?
10:32Well, I don't know how much longer it's going to go on.
10:34They're totally defenseless. They have no air defense whatsoever.
10:38We've totally captured it. You know, we've totally captured the air, Brian.
10:43Yeah, Mr. President, you've been fairly compassionate towards the Iranian people.
10:47I have been. It's human. They're human beings.
10:49I know a lot of people from Iran, from New York, from Washington, mostly from New York.
10:53They're incredible people. They're smart. They're energetic.
10:57They can't be difficult, but so can you.
10:59You know, no, they're great people. They're smart people.
11:03And those people are getting the hell beat out of them now.
11:07And it's really a shame. It's so stupid. It's so stupid.
11:10This is another one. You know, Russia, Ukraine is so stupid.
11:13Would have never happened if I was president.
11:15You guys agree with that, right?
11:17Would have never happened if I was president.
11:20Putin would have never done it.
11:21And I spoke to him yesterday, and I said, you know, he actually offered to help mediate.
11:26I said, do me a favor. Mediate your own. Let's mediate Russia first, okay?
11:30I said, Vladimir, let's mediate Russia first. You can worry about this later.
11:35But I think that's going to work out, too. But so many people have been killed.
11:40The big thing with that one is far more people are dead than have been reported in the Ukraine, Russia.
11:47Many, many more people.
11:48The building falls down. They say nobody was hurt.
11:52What does unconditional surrender mean?
11:55Well, you know what it means. Unconditional surrender.
11:56Can you explain it for those who don't?
11:58Two very simple words. A very simple. Unconditional surrender.
12:01That means I've had it. Okay? I've had it. I give up. No more.
12:05Then we go blow up all the nuclear stuff that's all over the place there.
12:10No, they had bad intentions. You know, for 40 years they've been saying death to America, death to Israel,
12:16death to anybody else that they didn't like. They were bullies. They were schoolyard bullies.
12:24And now they're not bullies anymore, but we'll see what happens.
12:27Look, nothing's finished until it's finished. You know, war is very complex.
12:31A lot of bad things can happen. A lot of turns are made.
12:34So I don't know. I wouldn't say that we won anything yet.
12:37I would say that we sure as hell made a lot of progress.
12:41And we'll see. The next week is going to be very big.
12:44Maybe less than a week. Maybe less.
12:46But is there anybody here that said it would be okay to have a hostile, very, you know, zealots really,
12:54but to have a hostile country have a nuclear weapon that could destroy 25 miles, but much more than that?
13:02Could destroy other nations just by the breeze blowing the dust.
13:06You know, that dust blows to other nations and they get decimated.
13:09This is just not a threat you can have.
13:11And we've been threatened by Iran for many years.
13:15You know, if you go back and look at my history, if you go back 15 years,
13:18I was saying we cannot let Iran get a nuclear weapon.
13:21I've been saying it for a long time.
13:23I mean it more now than I ever meant it. Yeah.
13:26Mr. President, a question on deportations.
13:28Mr. President, you said last week that changes would be coming for farmers
13:32who have seen a lot of the workers they rely on taken away.
13:35But then DHS said this week that worksite enforcement would remain in place,
13:39that it's a cornerstone.
13:40So what's your message to farmers?
13:42Everybody's right.
13:42Look, we've got to get the bad people out of here first, and we're doing that.
13:45We're taking them out by the thousands.
13:47Murderers, drug dealers, people that are mentally insane from insane asylums.
13:53What they gave to us, fellas, they gave, do we have anybody in here that's a member?
13:58No, I don't think so.
13:59We've known all these people for a long time.
14:02Any illegal immigration?
14:04If they would, they'll find out.
14:06Right?
14:07They'll be checking you.
14:08You won't believe me.
14:09Their whole life will be destroyed because of this press conference.
14:12Watch.
14:12They'll destroy these people.
14:14I didn't want to tell them that before this did happen.
14:16They'll end up being us.
14:18He's a so-and-so.
14:19This one is from you know where.
14:22Don't worry.
14:23I think you're going to be okay.
14:25I'll be right behind you.
14:27Far behind you.
14:29I'll be right behind you.
14:31Now, look, we have to take care of our farmers.
14:33We have to take care of people that run leisure, hotels.
14:37I mean, we have to take care of them.
14:39But most importantly, we have to get the criminals out of our country.
14:42And Biden let in thousands and 11,888 murderers.
14:47Many of them murdered more than one person.
14:50Can you believe it?
14:51Many, almost 50% of them murdered more than one person.
14:54He let them into our country.
14:56They emptied out the jails of countries from all over the world, from the Congo, from Venezuela,
15:01from all over the place.
15:02They emptied out the jails.
15:03Many of them.
15:04I would.
15:04If I were running one of the countries, I would have emptied out my prison population into the U.S.
15:09And many countries did.
15:11And we're getting them out.
15:12Okay?
15:12We're getting them out.
15:13Thank you very much.
15:14Let's watch this.
15:15Brian, go ahead.
15:16Are you okay?
15:16I'm just going to follow up on the immigration real quickly.
15:18Can you comment on the impact of the Trump card?
15:22Yeah, we have a thing called the Trump card.
15:25This has not been done before or thought of.
15:27And for $5 million, this is usually people that would either be working for companies like Apple,
15:34I think, is going to buy a lot of them.
15:35Because they can't get people into the country.
15:37You know, if you come in through the southern border, you have no problem.
15:40You can be a criminal.
15:41You can be a drug dealer.
15:42And you have no problem.
15:42But if you go and graduate number one in your class from a great school,
15:46you can't get a job because there's no access to getting it.
15:51You can't get a green card.
15:53So we're going to sell that to people, in some cases wealthy, in some cases not wealthy.
15:59They'll be paid for by universities.
16:02Look at Harvard.
16:02They got $53 billion.
16:06That whole thing is coming to an end.
16:08It's amazing what we found out.
16:11What a disgrace.
16:12They have $53 billion.
16:13We gave them five, six, and some people say it's as much as $9 billion over a short period
16:20of time.
16:21So that's very much coming to it.
16:23They want to make a deal more than, I would say, Harvard wants to make a deal more than
16:27Iran wants to make a deal.
16:28And Iran wants to make a deal.
16:29But, I mean, a lot of things, look, a lot of things are happening on a lot of fronts,
16:36Brian.
16:37A lot of good things are happening.
16:39And frankly, you know, it's a little bit of a, as we used to say, liberal.
16:43Now they say progressive.
16:44I use the word liberal.
16:45Progressive is too nice to work because they're destroying the country.
16:49They're really destroying these.
16:50These liberal politicians are destroying our country.
16:53Look what they've done during Biden's four years.
16:55I mean, we're working on, I mean, so much of our effort goes to getting people out of
17:00the country that should have never been here in the first place.
17:03What he, what he's done to this country, it's not him.
17:05He had no idea what was going on.
17:06Everybody knows that.
17:07It's other people.
17:09It's Lisa and this one and that, all these people, all the scum that was around the oval,
17:15you know, the oval office or around the beautiful resolute desk telling this guy,
17:20here, do this, do that, and not even telling him.
17:23They'd just go over to the auto pen and sign whatever the hell they wanted to sign.
17:27Because say what you want about Biden, he wasn't for open borders.
17:30He wasn't for transgender for everybody.
17:32He wasn't for men playing in women's sports.
17:36But he has no idea what the hell he has no idea.
17:39And they were very upset.
17:42They wanted Bernie Sanders.
17:43And after about a week of this guy, they said, wait a minute, we just hit, we just hit gold.
17:48This guy has no clue.
17:50He'll do anything we tell him.
17:51And then they realized they don't even have to get permission.
17:54They just go up to the auto pen.
17:57That's a subversion.
17:58That's a takeover of our government.
18:01And you people ought to start looking at it.
18:03That's a takeover.
18:03Not only did they cheat.
18:05I guess you saw yesterday came out with China and the license plates.
18:09Tens of thousands of cards.
18:11They used those cards to vote on the second election, my second, the one 2020.
18:17Because as everybody here knows, I won that election by a lot.
18:21But the only good thing I can say is this is a much more historic term than I think I could have had as a second term.
18:27This is a much more historic election.
18:30And now we're going to put up a beautiful flagpole and we're going to put up a flag and I hope you enjoy it.
18:36And let's see how real people work.
18:40These are real people.
18:41You're not real people.
18:41Your job is too easy.
18:43Okay?
18:43Back when I'm around, Mr. President.
18:44How tall is the flagpole?
18:45Thank you, friend.
18:46Close to 100 feet.
18:47Real quick on Pakistan, sir.
18:49You have a meeting today with the Pakistani army chief of staff.
18:56What are you looking forward to achieving diplomatically at the moment?
19:00Well, I stopped the war between Pakistan.
19:03I love Pakistan.
19:05I think Modi is a fantastic man.
19:07I spoke to him last night.
19:08We're going to make a trade deal with Modi of India.
19:14But I stopped the war between Pakistan and India.
19:17This man was extremely influential in stopping it from the Pakistan side.
19:22Modi from the India side and others.
19:25And they were going at it.
19:26And they're both nuclear countries.
19:28I got it stopped.
19:29I don't think I had one story.
19:30Did I have one story written about it?
19:31I stopped the war between two major nations, major nuclear nations.
19:36I don't think I had a story written about it, but that's okay.
19:39You know why?
19:40The people know.
19:41The people know.
19:42Mr. President.
19:42Did anybody write that story about the war?
19:45Did anybody?
19:45Did you write it?
19:46We wrote one.
19:47We all wrote it.
19:47Did you write it?
19:48Of course.
19:49Just one more on the wrong side.
19:51When does your patients run out with...
19:53Are there adjustments that need to be made for Marine One to partner?
19:57No, no.
19:58We put it so that Marine One is very far away.
20:00We did it in conjunction with the Air Force, with everybody.
20:04And everybody signed off on it.
20:06We now have to have it far away.
20:08It's very far from Marine One's out there.
20:10It's out in the field.
20:12So you have to have a certain distance.
20:13We're about three times that distance.
20:15Okay.
20:15Thank you very much, everybody.
20:17Thank you, Press.
20:17Thank you, Press.
20:18Thank you, Press.
20:18Prime Minister Netanyahu.
20:19Thank you, Press.
20:20Thank you, Press.
20:20Thank you, Press.
20:21Watch out.
20:21Watch out.
20:21Can't, can't, can't.
20:22Get back.
20:22Get back.
20:53over there. If you want, you can come over here. Come on over here. Come on over here.
21:08Mr. President, what do you say to the Supreme Leader of Iran who says that they will not
21:15select? Say good luck. And what is the end game? Say it. When those locations run out? It's already run out. That's why we're doing what we're doing. You think you could take out the man 60 days and a big, you know, 60 days, plenty of time. And they made a mistake. Honestly, they made a mistake. The U.S. does strike their countries in ruins. So many people are dead. They shouldn't be dead. It's a very sad thing. Let's watch this.
21:42Okay, back. Everybody back. Everybody step back.
21:47Come over here. You don't have to ruin your shoes. That's why we're changing the rest.
21:51People are ruining their shoes.
21:54So far, isn't it? That's a great point.
21:58And the wires go inside. They don't start over there.
22:04You know, when they're outside, they're very noisy. They snap in the wind.
22:08This capacity? Yeah.
22:10This space is a personal project for you, sir.
22:14It is. Yeah.
22:15Well, I'm paying for it.
22:16How much are these pockets in here?
22:19I'd say each ballroom is like $50,000.
22:22Do you know how on the ballroom?
22:24Yeah, we start pretty soon.
22:26We have a beautiful ballroom. Good question.
22:29Right here. I see you.
22:31East one?
22:32It goes from here. Oh, you see the big piece of land down here?
22:35It goes all the way over to there.
22:38Okay.
22:39We're using one of the top architects.
22:41How large will the flags be?
22:43They're big. They're beautiful.
22:45They're big.
22:46Mr. President, do you still want to go to Nino?
22:50Yeah, I'll be good.
22:51I think so.
22:52Easy to put it in there.
22:53Anything, huh?
22:54Like, hardworking people of America.
22:55What they do, the mind, what they can develop.
22:59They don't know what we're doing.
23:04They don't know it's tough, it's easy.
23:06They just want to put up flags and go to work.
23:08These are great workers.
23:10Who gave you the idea to do this?
23:11I've had it for a long time.
23:13The first time I had it, but you know, you guys were after me.
23:18I said I had to focus.
23:20I was the hunter, and now I'm the hunter.
23:23It's a big difference.
23:25But he was the same no matter what.
23:29Yeah, it is surprising that out of all the presidents we've had,
23:33that this has never taken place.
23:35It's crazy.
23:36Look at him.
23:37It's crazy.
23:38I mean, look, there's a little flag called this side,
23:39a little tiny flag up top.
23:42This is the real deal.
23:43This is the best you can get.
23:44There's nothing like this.
23:46You know, most of them are 20 feet, 25 feet.
23:49This is close to 100 feet.
23:51And I think it's a great location, too.
23:54You put it out there, people don't appreciate it.
23:57And then we're going to do a flower bed around it,
23:59a beautiful flower bed.
24:00Bigger than that.
24:01So you have the pole, and then you have the pole.
24:05When do you even come out here to hit some golf balls?
24:09When you find time in your schedule.
24:1135 club championships.
24:12You all know that.
24:13I know that.
24:1435 club championships.
24:15I haven't hit a ball in three weeks, four weeks.
24:18I don't know.
24:19It's time to get out there.
24:20It's time to get out there.
24:21I've been a little busy.
24:22Would you rather have me be doing what I'm doing?
24:24Of course.
24:25In the end.
24:26See, the way they have that hoist in it's great.
24:28Wow.
24:29Because if you lift it up from one, you have to lift it from the bottom.
24:34But you have to get it there.
24:35But if you lifted it from without that, the whole thing would split.
24:40It's so interesting.
24:41Because it's in big sections.
24:43And they connect so incredibly.
24:46Mr. President, while we're watching, could I ask, when was the last time you spoke with
24:51Governor Newsom?
24:52Well, the phone call that he said I didn't make, that I documented.
24:56Did you see that?
24:57I haven't spoken yet.
24:58You shouldn't.
24:59Who knows?
25:00Squeeze.
25:01That was the last time?
25:02That was the last time.
25:03Any changes to the troops being deployed there?
25:04No.
25:05I won the case yesterday.
25:06I didn't read that I won it because I don't think anybody wrote it.
25:09The only writer I lose it.
25:11Mr. President, did you notice I won the case?
25:14You know what's interesting here?
25:17Is that when it goes in, they then put sand inside.
25:21And if they use dirt or anything else other than sand, it rots out the pole over a period
25:26of years.
25:27But sand, for some reason, chemically, just works.
25:31It gives you flexibility.
25:34And it doesn't do anything to the cast.
25:37It's amazing.
25:38So watch when, so let's, that's nine feet deep.
25:41And then, boy, it's a beautiful, it's a perfect pole for this.
25:45Oh, so it's going nine feet down.
25:46It goes nine feet down.
25:47Okay.
25:48And then, there's nothing in there right now.
25:52Just the tube goes nine feet down.
25:54And when they fill it, they fill it with sand.
25:57Pure sand.
25:58Absolutely pure sand.
25:59If they didn't, the chemicals do, you know, they work on the bottom part.
26:04Is that interesting?
26:05So you prefer the rope on the inside of the pole?
26:09Oh, much better.
26:10The first one looks better.
26:12I mean, I've never seen it on this.
26:14This is the newest and the greatest.
26:16I've never seen it at Mar-a-Lago.
26:18I have a similar pole, not quite as tall.
26:21But the rope's on the outside.
26:24And you hear that rope bang and clinging on the top.
26:27What's that little thing sticking up at the top?
26:30What's the little thing sticking out like that?
26:32The ball?
26:33Yeah, the bar.
26:34The finial.
26:36Like the little fin?
26:38Oh, I see.
26:39That's so they can hook up their ropes.
26:41They'll put the rope in later.
26:43Sometimes you see an eagle on top of the flagpole.
26:45I like this one.
26:46This is cool.
26:47These are a little more classy.
26:48I'm a big eagle person, as you probably are, but this looks better.
26:52Mr. President, can you share some of what you've told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin
26:56and get me out there?
26:57The President, keep going.
26:59What do I say?
27:00Have you given him any indication?
27:01The President, I speak to him every day.
27:02He's a good man.
27:03Doing a lot.
27:04Been very unfairly treated by his country, I think.
27:07Very unfairly treated.
27:08Have you given him any indication that you may seek to aid them more than you have already?
27:14No.
27:15I haven't.
27:16So far, he's done a good job.
27:18He has been treated very unfairly.
27:20He's a wartime president and he's going through this nonsense.
27:24It's ridiculous.
27:25It seems like you agree with him that...
27:26We do.
27:27He got a national security council.
27:28Very good meaning.
27:29Anything that came up in particular.
27:30Little things, big things, but it's good meaning.
27:31It's working well.
27:32It seems like you would...
27:33Do you see how straight that is?
27:34Look, they put that dead straight and then they pour in the sand.
27:35It's amazing, right?
27:36Who would think you have to have sand?
27:37You missed it.
27:38And it's got to be a very pure sand.
27:39It's got to be a very pure sand.
27:40I know you enjoy being president.
27:41Have you ever missed building things?
27:42I love construction.
27:43Yeah.
27:44It's in your heart, isn't it?
27:45Well, I love it.
27:46I know it better than anybody.
27:47When I see a train, a railroad going from San Francisco to L.A., I think it's a hundred
27:54times over that.
27:55It's incredible.
27:56One of the most incompetent things.
27:57That's the news coming.
27:58Why do they keep funding that?
27:59I think we're not going to anymore.
28:00In fact, a little bit of a story.
28:01We're not going to fund that anymore.
28:02It's out of control.
28:03First of all, it doesn't go where it's a bus to.
28:04It's supposed to go from L.A. to San Francisco.
28:05Now, because they don't have any money.
28:06They've spent, what is it?
28:07What is it?
28:0830, 40 times more than it was their bus to spend?
28:09And they made it much shorter because it no longer goes into the cities and stops miles
28:33outside of the cities.
28:34Because if you were a builder and you went 34 times over the budget, you would be fired,
28:39right?
28:40If you went one time, if you went a half a time over the budget.
28:43So see what they're doing?
28:44They're unwrapping the sand.
28:45It's all pure sand.
28:47And if it weren't pure sand, they would eat away at the metal.
28:50Mr. President, with the rail funding in California, will your recent dust-ups with Governor
28:55Newsom impact additional wildfire relief out there?
28:58They've requested $40 billion.
28:59The man's incompetent.
29:02You shouldn't have fires like that.
29:04You clean the floor of your forest and you won't have any forest forest.
29:08You know, Austria has very, very flammable trees.
29:11They don't have forest, right?
29:12Because they've cleaned the floors.
29:13They've maintained their forest.
29:15Good effect.
29:16You know, hatred is never a good thing in politics.
29:21When you don't like somebody, don't respect somebody.
29:24It's harder for that person to get money if you're on top.
29:28But he's done a bad job.
29:30How will you ensure that?
29:31I'll tell you one thing.
29:32If I didn't bring in the military to Los Angeles, you wouldn't even have a city.
29:36You probably wouldn't be here.
29:37You'd be covering the riots in Los Angeles right now.
29:40And we got a great ruling, as you know, yesterday from the judge.
29:43Absolutely.
29:44If we didn't bring in the military in Los Angeles, you would have maybe no city.
29:50You'd have just what you have with the housing burned to the ground.
29:53How will you ensure that changes?
29:55What they're doing is they take this out.
29:57Mr. President, it seems like you agree with Israeli Prime Minister.
30:01Yeah, well, with the ruling yesterday, does that mean you're more empowered to send national
30:07belt to other cities as well, maybe New York?
30:09I don't think more empowered.
30:10I always thought I was empowered.
30:11It would be a shocking ruling.
30:14Only a guy like Newsom would even ask for it.
30:16You know, he should be thanking me instead of fighting.
30:18Newsom, he wouldn't have a city right now.
30:20It would be burning to the ground.
30:22You'd have people running all over, throwing rocks.
30:24Did you see them breaking up the concrete?
30:26Because we caught the bricks.
30:28They were bringing bricks, heavy bricks, red bricks.
30:30By the bag.
30:32Five or six big bags.
30:34The strong guys are going to hardly even carry them.
30:36They're going to hand them out to people to throw at the police.
30:39And by the way, the chief of police in Los Angeles said that we needed the help.
30:45If we didn't have the help, we would have been in trouble.
30:47Now, he changed his mind four days later.
30:49You know, a little bit.
30:51And he actually needed it more then.
30:55But we did a great job.
30:57We quelled that thing.
30:58And the fact that we are even there thinking about going in, they won't bother with it anymore.
31:03They'll go someplace else.
31:04But we'll be there, too.
31:06We'll be wherever they go.
31:08We're going to be.
31:09Did you see the main numbers for immigration?
31:11Yeah, great numbers.
31:12Zero.
31:13Yeah.
31:14We had zero.
31:15Did you see that, everybody?
31:16You were going to ask that.
31:17Zero.
31:18I was going to ask that.
31:19She's on our side now.
31:20Because most people don't want to ask for that.
31:21Well, she said she fell early.
31:22Brian, did you see the main numbers?
31:23It's zero.
31:24Zero.
31:25How is that even?
31:26Because we really have a tight border.
31:27Now, we have let a lot of people in, but they came in legally.
31:30They actually have to take a little test.
31:32And they have to say, I love America.
31:34You know, minor things like that.
31:35Minor things like that.
31:36Mr. President, can you talk about extending it?
31:39Yeah, we'll be extending it.
31:41We're going to extend it.
31:42We're going to probably make a deal.
31:44I think we'll need China's blessing on it.
31:46And I think they'll bless it.
31:48How was Prime Minister Karni towards you?
31:51Very good.
31:52Yeah.
31:53It couldn't have been nicer.
31:54We enjoyed the Canada stay a lot.
31:56And I had to come back, obviously, for the world's happening in the Middle East.
32:01But I got everything done.
32:03He's a good man.
32:04I think Karni's a good man.
32:06Very well.
32:07A good representative of Canada.
32:08You think he's liked other people?
32:09I think so, yeah.
32:10Mr. President, have you given the Iranians an ultimatum?
32:16You could say so.
32:19They know.
32:20They know what's happening.
32:21Maybe you could call it the ultimate, the ultimate ultimatum, right?
32:26What essentially was that, though?
32:28What do you mean?
32:29Oh, I don't want to say it.
32:30Look, I mean, give me a break.
32:32What about the Paramount deal?
32:33I would say the elderly.
32:34She's doing great.
32:35She's doing great.
32:36She's really enjoying it.
32:37The Barron's enjoying it.
32:42All my kids are enjoying it, actually.
32:46It's pretty hot out here, isn't it?
32:48It's just what's muggier, the D.C. or West Palm Beach in the summer?
32:52I think this is muggier.
32:53This is muggier.
32:54This is a muggier.
32:55This is bad.
32:56Mr. President, could I ask you about the Paramount deal and the merger with Chi-Dance and the Ellison's?
33:02Like, what's holding that up?
33:03And, like, do you see that being recorded?
33:05I hope so.
33:06Ellison's great.
33:07They'll do a great job with it.
33:09So what they did is they interviewed 60 Minutes.
33:12They interviewed Kamala.
33:14Her answer was horrendous.
33:16I would say election-threatening.
33:17This is the day before the election.
33:20Her answer was election-threatening or so incompetent.
33:23So they took the entire answer out, and they took another answer to another question.
33:28And they did that, I understand, a number of times.
33:32But you don't have to do it a number of times.
33:34The main question they asked, and we caught them.
33:37And they're very embarrassed, right?
33:40And they're working on a settlement now.
33:42But think of it.
33:43Did you ever hear of that one before?
33:44They took the entire, every word, threw it out, put another answer.
33:49Do you think they do that for me?
33:51I think it happens daily.
33:53Mr. President.
33:54Well, I've never seen it.
33:55I thought I'd seen everything.
33:56That I've never seen.
33:57And it's very embarrassing.
33:59And the head of 60 Minutes got fired.
34:01The head of CBS got fired.
34:03They're all getting fired on it.
34:05But do you think, do you see what they're doing here, Wade?
34:08What are you doing?
34:09This is, all you're in construction is exciting.
34:11See, they have to get it perfectly straight.
34:13And once it's perfect, then they pour in the sand, and it's there for 100 years.
34:20Mr. President, as the Senate works on the big, beautiful bill, it seems like salt is going to be a really big issue between Senate Republicans and House Republicans.
34:27So what are you telling senators?
34:29Because the New York Republicans on the House side are making clear that that's a red line for them.
34:33Well, if it were a red line, then get ready for a 68 percent tax increase in 1929, because we're taking care of that issue, too.
34:43You know what that is.
34:44That's debt ceiling.
34:46The debt ceiling, we have to move the debt.
34:49And we don't move the debt.
34:51It's, you know, you violate governance.
34:53It's a terrible thing.
34:54Actually, Pocahontas even agreed with me on that.
34:57She's been wanting to get rid of the debt ceiling because she said it's too violent.
35:01It is violent.
35:02So, I mean, anybody that votes against it, they voted to give a 59, a 68 percent tax increase.
35:11And many other benefits.
35:12There would be no money for the border.
35:15You know, we have billions of dollars allocated to immigration at the border, keeping criminals out, getting criminals out, too.
35:22If that doesn't pass, you'll get a 68 percent tax increase.
35:27And I would say this, any senator that votes against it, and that includes Democrats, I think they'll be finished in politics.
35:34On SALT specifically, do you think Senate Republicans or House Republicans will have to bend more in order to get the bill at large?
35:40I don't know.
35:41We're going to see how it works out.
35:42It's a very difficult issue, to be honest with you.
35:45It's very difficult.
35:46And I understand both sides.
35:47But we'll just have to see.
35:48Hopefully a compromise or something is going to be made.
35:51But it's a very difficult issue.
35:53But remember that, you know, people say, what do you think?
35:5768 percent tax.
35:59So all those numbers I told you how well the economy is doing, it all gets wiped out.
36:03You'd have the largest tax increase in history by far, by three times, if they don't get the big, beautiful deal.
36:11I always say the great, big, beautiful deal.
36:13I put the word great in there.
36:15They took that out.
36:16It's going to be great, great.
36:17If we get that passed, it'll be the best, one of the greatest pieces.
36:20And that's just the beginning of a lot of things that are going to happen.
36:24Because we're going to get numbers down.
36:26We're going to get them way down.
36:27But that's the beginning.
36:28That's our big first step.
36:29But that's the big, it's the most important piece of legislation.
36:32In terms of dollar value and everything else, there's nothing as big as that.
36:36Speaking of taxes.
36:37You know, they thought that might be seven or eight bills.
36:39It's all in one.
36:40Speaking of taxes, starting in July 1st, California is upping the tax on gasoline again for gallon.
36:47Well, you know, I beat the California mandate.
36:49Congress just passed a bill, ending it.
36:51That was terrible.
36:52They were saying everybody by 2030 has to have an electric car.
36:56People don't want it.
36:57I'm all for electric cars, but you have to want one.
37:00And right now it's about 7%.
37:02But they were forcing everybody to have it.
37:04I ended, you know, I ended that.
37:06And now they're coming out with more.
37:07No, in California.
37:08You know, I've got, we've got some gas stations where just two weeks ago it was $1.98, $1.99.
37:15We've got the gas down below.
37:16And we have this little situation which will drive it up a little bit, but very little.
37:21And it's going to come down again.
37:24It's going to give people a lot of extra money.
37:26Groceries are down.
37:27Eggs are down.
37:28You know, the eggs, right?
37:29They hit me the first week about eggs.
37:31But, no, I think that, look, you know what I do whenever I talk about Gavin Newsom?
37:38I say, look at the railroad.
37:40Look at the railroad.
37:41It's not even possible.
37:44Do you think he comes out and sees the construction workers?
37:47I don't think so.
37:48I don't think he put an American flag in front of the California Sacramento either.
37:50Mr. President, some of the supporters are split on the U.S. response to...
37:56Who U.S.?
37:57CNN.
37:58No.
37:59There's a split, though.
38:00Fake news.
38:01Fortunately, nobody watches.
38:02But my question is...
38:03Is anybody watching CNN nowadays?
38:04I haven't seen it in a long time.
38:07But some of your supporters are wary of the U.S. getting involved in another foreign
38:12law, and some believe that we should support it.
38:15If you ever ask a positive question at CNN, my supporters are more in love with me than
38:20today.
38:21And I'm in love with them more than they were even at election time, where we had a total
38:26landslide.
38:27We had...
38:28You know we won all seven swing states.
38:29Did CNN report that?
38:30We won all seven.
38:31Seven out of seven, which everyone said would be almost impossible.
38:35And we won by millions of votes.
38:37We won 2,750 districts versus 505 districts.
38:43Think of that.
38:442,750 versus 505.
38:48And CNN...
38:50I think what she might be alluding to is the base is going to stay with you regardless.
38:56But some of the people in the base don't want a long-term war.
39:01They're afraid that we're going to get into a long-term war.
39:03What are you looking for a long-term war?
39:04Yeah, we're looking...
39:05It's only...
39:06I only want one thing.
39:07Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon.
39:08That's it.
39:09I'm not looking long-term, short-term.
39:10And I've been saying that for 20 years.
39:13I've been saying it as a civilian who got a lot of publicity.
39:16People would cover it.
39:17Very simply, Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon.
39:20That's it.
39:21It's not a question of anything else.
39:23And if you did, you wouldn't have much of a country because they would use it on us,
39:27and they'd use it on other people, and they'd be a terror all over the world.
39:30So I may have some people that are a little bit unhappy now.
39:34But I have some people that are very happy.
39:36And I have people outside of the base that can't believe that this is happening.
39:39They're so happy.
39:40And there was a poll that just came out today that my approval rating is the highest it's ever been.
39:45All I'm doing is saying you can't have a nuclear weapon.
39:48And I tried to do it nicely.
39:49And then on day 61, I said, let's go, because we can't let that happen.
39:54And I've been saying it for 20 years.
39:56But, okay, I'm going to leave.
39:58Thank you very much.
39:59Thank you, sir.
40:00Thank you, sir.
40:01Thank you, Brian.
40:02Good.
40:03Thank you, Brian.
40:04Good.
40:05They're the bases now.
40:06Well, they don't want to.
40:07Yeah, that's good.
40:08Nice.
40:09Okay.
40:10I know what you're asking. I try to get other bases, but they don't want to watch it.
40:19Yeah, that's good.
40:31Watch out.
40:40Oh, yeah. Very fine.
40:50Very fine.
40:52Very fine.
41:04Very fine.
41:06Very fine.
