00:00Now for Leeds United and the Premier League fixture announcements,
00:04there's plenty to go on now.
00:07Kicking off with the first Monday Night Football of the season
00:11means all eyes are on them.
00:13That's one thing it certainly means.
00:15Hosting Everton at home, Everton, an incredible away record
00:18under David Moyes at the back end of the season as well.
00:22So that's an ideal chance to secure an early win for both sides, really.
00:26So I think it could be a really, really good test.
00:30So let's go through each of the bigger fixtures, you know,
00:34the run-ins, the sort of opener, the maybe key matches as well.
00:40Obviously Leeds back in the Premier League.
00:42Dan, our Leeds correspondent.
00:44Dan, just a short thoughts on some of these fixtures now.
00:47Obviously the first Monday Night Football of the season,
00:50Leeds are on there at home.
00:52A massive chance for Daniel Farker's side to show what they're all about.
00:56They have some tough runs.
00:57Obviously then, following that, they go to the Emirates.
01:01Very, very tough place to go.
01:02And then they host Newcastle.
01:04Then things get a little bit easier with Fulham Wolves.
01:06Bournemouth maybe need to pick up some points there.
01:09But certainly no easy games at all in this league season for Leeds United.
01:15You know, how will Farker's pre-season set them up for these games?
01:19What are your reactions?
01:20What are Leeds fans' reactions to these fixtures?
01:23Because, you know, it sort of becomes a little equation where the more you look at the fixtures,
01:28the harder they get and the harder it is to find those wins.
01:31So how can you see it going?
01:34And what are your thoughts ahead of this new season for Leeds United?
01:36Well, Charles, Leeds United, they begin their Premier League campaign at home to Everton
01:42before a trip to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium
01:45before they then welcome Newcastle United to Elland Road.
01:49And of course, Leeds United supporters will have been looking for those fixtures against Manchester United
01:53while they take place in January and April.
01:56And then Leeds finish the season away to West Ham at the London Stadium.
02:00Obviously, the old cliche is that, well, you play everyone twice in the season
02:05and so the order shouldn't really matter because everyone plays everyone twice.
02:09However, you can look at it the other way in the sense that, well, starts matter and finishes matter
02:14because, of course, that's what your momentum can be built on.
02:17And, of course, the result of the season, how the season ends, of course, comes down to how the teams play.
02:21But, of course, that's looking at it just on paper.
02:25You've got no idea how those teams might be playing at those times of the season,
02:28whether it be the start, whether it be the end.
02:30There's a lot to think about, a lot to contend with.
02:33So, whilst the fixtures can provide some sort of analysis on paper
02:37in terms of what looks easier and what looks harder,
02:40at the end of the day, it just comes down to how things go
02:43when it's actually played at the stadium itself.
02:46So, it's hard to sort of sum up exactly how Newcastle United supporters will be feeling
02:51at this stage with the fixtures now being released.
02:54Certainly at home to Everton, they'd like to think that that is a winnable fixture.
02:58At Elland Road on the opening day of the season.
03:00Of course, Everton, certainly last season didn't start very well,
03:04but they got better as things went on under David Moyes
03:06when he came back in to the club.
03:09So, it will be a tricky game, but certainly it's not a game
03:12in which they should be fearing.
03:13I think that's the main thing.
03:15Of course, Arsenal second, though, that's a tough fixture,
03:17no matter which way you look at it.
03:19Arsenal, of course, doing really well in the Champions League last year
03:22and in the Premier League too.
03:24Of course, not quite challenging Liverpool,
03:25but certainly doing well to finish in second place.
03:28And then, welcoming Newcastle United to Elland Road.
03:30Something of a northern rivalry there you could see.
03:35It will be a fiery and feisty atmosphere at Elland Road.
03:39Newcastle, of course, Cup winners, Champions League qualifiers,
03:43so they will provide a really stern test to Leeds United.
03:46Probably their biggest test, or their first biggest test of the season at home.
03:50Obviously, Arsenal will be the biggest one away from home to start with,
03:53but Newcastle is certainly a tough one
03:55in terms of their second home fixture of the campaign.
03:58And, obviously, finishing away at West Ham United.
04:01West Ham weren't great for large parts last season,
04:03so Leeds will probably look at that game and think,
04:05well, if we're needing something,
04:07it's a game where we perhaps could go and get something.
04:10But, of course, that's looking at things from last season.
04:12You don't know exactly how things will be this season
04:15because, of course, things can change,
04:16not only in the space of a couple of weeks of up,
04:18but in the space of about half an hour.
04:20So, it's perhaps a little bit futile
04:23trying to predict exactly what people think about these fixtures
04:26and whether they're hard, whether they're easy.
04:29It's hard to really say.
04:31Of course, in terms of what Leeds will look out for,
04:33the two games against Manchester United
04:35will be high on their agenda in January and April
04:38because, of course, the rivalry exists between those clubs.
04:41So, a lot to look forward to for Leeds,
04:42but perhaps a bit futile trying to predict.
