TEONTEE and Kaisha are both music artists living in Alabama. They initially embarked on a friendship through Instagram messages, bonding over their careers. However, once they met up at one of Teontee's performances sparks flew and it grew into a romance.
Despite being a straight man Teontee is known online for having stereotypically feminine characteristics. He explained how he became a rapper known for influencing the beauty sphere too. "I started sharing my love for skincare in 2019 on social media. A lot of my mutual friends on Facebook would be like, 'What's your skin care routine?'" When Teontee eventually revealed Kaisha as his new girlfriend to his followers there was a mixed response, with many questioning his sexuality. "A lot of my followers, they're like, 'where's your girlfriend? Where's your girlfriend? You always talk about it, but we don't ever see her.' So that's when I finally decided to show her they went crazy. I expected it, but I didn't expect people to go so hard." The couple received comments such as, "I thought you were gay", "Y'all want the same thing, a man" and "he's in the mirror more than her."

00:00He's not my gay best friend. He's my man.
00:02They just don't understand what a feminine guy has to offer to a beautiful woman.
00:10Have you guys been getting any negative comments or anything that make you guys feel uncomfortable or second-guess their relationship?
00:17Let me get some of that oil off your face.
00:21I'm getting ready in the morning. It takes a little while, to be honest.
00:24Yeah, for both of us.
00:25My name is Teyonte. I'm a music artist and a social media influencer.
00:29People say I'm too feminine to have a girlfriend, but here she is.
00:33I am Keisha. I'm 28 years old, and I'm a music artist.
00:38I saw her story that she was going to be in Montgomery, performing.
00:43We met up. We talked. We actually didn't expect it to go this far, to be honest.
00:48Yeah.
00:49But we're here now.
00:50You know my color is yellow and red, because you know my hair red, so gotta match the outfit.
00:56Being around him and just getting his personality was so different for me, and I loved it.
01:02What do you guys enjoy doing together?
01:04Music.
01:05Music, taking pictures, shopping, dressing each other.
01:12I was saying these.
01:14Not you being my stylist.
01:15Yeah.
01:16Yeah, something like that.
01:18These go really good with these pants.
01:20The flames.
01:21Yeah, because you're fire.
01:23I started sharing my love for skincare in 2019 on social media.
01:27A lot of my mutual friends on Facebook would be like, what's your skincare routine?
01:30What's your skincare routine?
01:31He in the mirror more than her.
01:33Women date anything today.
01:35I don't want a man prettier than me.
01:38The judgment I received early on was crazy.
01:41I didn't understand it at all.
01:43It just shocked me.
01:44It made me go into depression like three times, because I couldn't handle the negative comments.
01:50A teenager going through puberty already judging my looks and my body.
01:55But over time, I grew and I learned to not really care and just express myself the way I want to express myself.
02:05This one says, why?
02:07Why do I feel like he's comparing his face with hers to see who's prettier?
02:12That's crazy.
02:14It feels great to have a boyfriend that has a beauty routine because I get to share my tips with him.
02:20I'm getting tips from him as well.
02:22I feel like we piggyback off each other a lot.
02:24Okay.
02:25You good.
02:26I almost poked my out.
02:28I'm sorry.
02:29A lot of my followers, they're like, where's your girlfriend?
02:32Where's your girlfriend?
02:33You always talk about it, but we don't ever see her.
02:36So that's when I finally decided to show her.
02:39They went crazy.
02:41I expected it, but I didn't expect people to go so hard.
02:45The world doesn't understand it yet, so they went insane, like they belong in a mental hospital.
02:53I'm not her gay best friend.
02:55I'm her man.
02:57He seems like he likes men.
02:59You gayer than RuPaul talking about he found the one.
03:03Y'all do believe y'all like the same thing, ding-a-ling.
03:07She looks like your sister.
03:10I thought you were gay.
03:13This one says, no, y'all want the same thing, a man.
03:18I only can try my best to help them understand why by showcasing me and Keisha.
03:23I don't want to read it no more to soak in.
03:25I don't want to soak in that negative energy from that.
03:28But I don't really care about it.
03:30I just don't care to read it, to be honest.
03:32I wanted to see what people would say because, you know, the stereotype they have on him right now.
03:37So I couldn't wait for people to see me and actually understand that what he says is what he says.
03:44Let's find some good stuff.
03:46They said y'all need to start a his, her skincare line ASAP.
03:50Oh, they gonna make the finest baby in the world face cards, hot, black love.
03:57Yeah.
03:58The good comments feel, make me have a lot of hope, to be honest.
04:02The bad comments are just terrible.
04:05Like some gum that you, that you're trying to get off the bottom of your shoe.
04:09And the good comments are like, just smelling some roses.
04:13Roses don't smell good.
04:14Well, I know to never get you roses.
04:16Yeah.
04:17She said she was usually like dating masculine guys.
04:20Yeah.
04:21Yeah.
04:22Terrible.
04:23Being with Tiantae, I've learned that it's best to be with a feminine man because they understand you more.
04:30It's hard trying to teach a masculine man how to feel sometimes or how to treat you.
04:36I don't have to worry about that.
04:38I mean, we just kind of dress alike sometimes.
04:41And that's, that's really the only thing.
04:43He's, he's who he is.
04:46Woo.
04:47Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
04:50Do you have on yellow too?
04:52I love that.
04:54I haven't met Keisha's family yet.
04:56I feel like because I'm very nervous of what they think because that goes deep.
05:03Like a family is very different from a hater online.
05:07Keisha is going to meet my aunt for the first time today.
05:10Kalia, she's overprotective at times.
05:13So bae, you excited to meet my auntie.
05:15I'm excited, but I'm nervous.
05:17My auntie's outside.
05:19Hi.
05:20Hi.
05:21How are you?
05:22How are you?
05:23Kalia, Keisha, Keisha, Kalia.
05:25Nice to meet you.
05:26I'm a hugger, so I would love a hug.
05:28Nice to meet you.
05:29You're so pretty.
05:31You are so pretty.
05:33So, Keisha.
05:34Yes.
05:35I am so happy to finally meet you.
05:38Likewise.
05:39And I'm so happy that my nephew is finally happy.
05:42Yes.
05:43Have you guys been getting any negative comments or anything that make you guys feel uncomfortable or second-guess the relationship?
05:49Yeah.
05:50But it don't bother us at this point.
05:52No.
05:53At this point, you just got to expect stuff like that.
05:56Yeah, you expect it.
05:57Found her right there.
05:59But who is him in your closet?
06:02What?
06:03He got more makeup on than you do.
06:06Looks like he spends more time in front of the mirror than you polishing his eyebrows and putting on lip gloss.
06:11This is insane.
06:12He found a new bestie, that's all.
06:14She is my best friend and my lover.
06:16So, thank you for that comment.
06:19He loves expressing himself to the world, like showing people who he are.
06:24Right.
06:25Besides what they think or their opinion.
06:27Right.
06:28So, I really love that for you.
06:29Yeah, I love that about him too.
06:31I really do.
06:32Like, when you can be yourself, I feel like that's the most golden thing in the world.
06:36Most golden thing.
06:37Yeah.
06:38Yeah.
06:39I appreciate that from the both of y'all.
06:40Like, I really do.
06:41So, what is it like dating a feminine straight guy?
06:45I would say sort of how Barbie and Ken is.
06:48Oh, wow.
06:49Yeah.
06:50That's a great way to put it.
06:51Yeah.
06:52It's like you guys have y'all own special stylists.
06:55Yeah.
06:56Yeah.
06:57It's like magical.
06:58I don't think it's like any other relationship.
07:00Cheers.
07:01Cheers.
07:02Nice to meet you.
07:03Nice to meet you.
07:04I feel like Keisha has changed my life for the better in many ways.
07:08I have met my match, to be honest, and I'm very happy.
07:13So, the song you've been working on.
07:15Yeah.
07:16You know how it goes, and what I'll be singing, and what I'll be singing.
07:19I feel like it's a Y2K type song.
07:21Uh-huh.
07:22Like, kind of like the early 2000s, but I can show you how it goes.
07:25Okay.
07:26Okay.
07:27I'm not tripping.
07:28I just want to make it mine.
07:29Life can get difficult sometimes.
07:30Yeah.
07:31And when you've got that special person, it can just make it feel like a breeze.
07:45Yeah.
07:46Amazing.
07:47Chef's kiss.
07:48What I would say to the people that judge my relationship is, don't judge my relationship.
07:57Judge yourself.
07:58Judge yourself.
07:59Look in the mirror and judge yourself before you judge somebody else.
08:03That was fire.
08:06I'm out here living my life with my beautiful girlfriend, and we're not worried about any
08:10of those comments.
08:13Bye.
08:14Bye.
08:15Bye.
08:16Bye.
08:17Bye.
