Former Senate deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Ali Mohamad has pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court today to 20 bribery charges of accepting RM235,000 in cash and three luxury cars related to a Melaka land reclamation project.

00:07at the Shah Alam Sessions Court on Wednesday to 20 bribery charges between 2017 and 2025.
00:14The 61-year-old Bersatu politician was charged with accepting 235,000 ringgit and three luxury
00:20cars related to a land reclamation project in Melaka. As the managing director of a property
00:26development company, the accused was charged with 17 counts of accepting bribes ranging
00:31from 5,000 to 20,000 ringgit from another company director. For the remaining three charges,
00:38the accused was allegedly given three luxury vehicles from the same individual. The bribes
00:44were allegedly inducement for appointing the company as the contractor responsible for a project to build
00:49and reclaim 100 acres of coastal waters in Kota Laksamana, which was valued at $45.1
00:56million ringgit for mixed development. The court granted Muhammad Ali bail of $60,000
01:01ringgit and fixed July 24th for mention.
