Agartala (Tripura), June 18, 2025 (ANI) : Tripura CM Manik Saha attended State- Wise Plantation Drive under Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0 Campaign at Maharani Tulsibati Girls’ H.S School, Agartala.Hyderabad, June 18, 2025 (ANI): The Godavari-Banakacherla Link Scheme is a massive project proposed by the Andhra Pradesh Government at an estimated cost of Rs 80,112 crore. The plan involves diverting 200 TMC of water from the Godavari river at Polavaram to Rayalaseema through the Bollapalli reservoir and Banakacherla head regulator. The proposal seeks to interlink the Godavari, Krishna, and Penna rivers. On the project, BRS leader K Kavitha said, "In the proposed river linking project of Godavari-Cauvery, Telangana will lose its water share because now Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu is trying to change the linkage point from Telangana to Andhra Pradesh region. We are severely objecting to it. Unfortunately, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy is not able to effectively stop this decision being made by the Central government. If the linkage point is shifted to Andhra Pradesh, half of the Telangana districts will be left parched. We will lose rights to the Godavari river water in the future."

00:00In the proposed river linkage project of Godavari Kaveri, Telangana is going to hugely lose its water share because now Mr. Chandrababu Naidu Garu, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Garu, is trying to change the linkage point from Telangana's region to Andhra region.
00:17We are severely objecting to it, and unfortunately our Telangana Chief Minister, Mr. Revendh Redi Garu, is not able to effectively stop this decision that is being made by the central government.
00:29The linkage point, if it is shifted from Telangana to Andhra, it is going to leave at least half of Telangana districts parched and dry, and we will lose the rights on the Godavari water for the upcoming future generations as well.
00:43So we severely object to this particular river linkage project, which is under the name of Banaka Charla.
00:49We are severely opposing that.
00:51And the other important issue that we wanted to raise was 42 percent OVC reservation bill has been passed in Telangana Assembly.
00:59It is now in the union government's purview.
01:01We demand that the union government immediately send the bill back.
01:05Otherwise, Telangana OVC associations and Telangana Jagruti is planning to hold a railroke on July 17th, which will be stalling and choking the connectivity between Deccan and Delhi.
01:17So we sincerely demand before that the OVC bill of Telangana be immediately reverted back to Telangana.
