00:00It's not a bird. It's not a plane. No, it's a flying taxi. And soon the sci-fi
00:07means of transportation will be a reality. These sleek machines are
00:12currently on display at the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget Airport and change is
00:18in the air. I think the industry for these aircraft is going to be very very
00:23large. Hard to predict. This is day one. Day one of a new industry. It's like the
00:27first Boeing 737-100 and it's 1964 and we're trying to predict how big this
00:32industry will be. Air taxis will be used for 15 to 20 minute trips at first at a
00:37maximum altitude of 3,000 meters. They take just 15 minutes to charge and carry
00:41up to four passengers. And that's not counting a pilot. Because there isn't
00:47one. Similarly to self-driving cars, these machines are navigated with the help of
00:52AI. We understand that this is different. There's no pilot on board. We're all used
00:57to having pilots and other personnel on every journey with us. So it is on us to
01:02make sure that we're designing this aircraft to the highest safety levels as
01:06possible. Flights will be monitored by a human being on the ground though. Archer,
01:12for its part, already has contracts with companies in the United Arab Emirates,
01:15Ethiopia and Indonesia to launch its vehicles. WISC anticipates that its taxis
01:20will be operational by the end of the decade in U.S. cities including Houston,
01:25Long Beach and Miami.
