Transcript
00:00In February this year Strike Force Van der Heart Wilkinson commenced investigating the drug supply
00:06and targeting drug supply in the Wagga and Riverina area. As a result of that operation
00:12over a significant number of months we identified a number of people in the community we allege
00:17were involved in the supply of primitive drugs in particular MDMA and cocaine in the Riverina area.
00:24Yesterday about 12pm a 38 year old man was arrested south of Albury and we alleged that that man was
00:33coming to Wagga to supply primitive drugs. In that man's possession we found over 300 pills, tablets
00:40which we alleged is MDMA and through our investigations we determined a suspicion that
00:46this individual was supplying to this area. Yesterday seven individuals were charged and
00:53several search ones were executed across Wagga and those seven individuals were involved in what
00:59we alleged is the ongoing supply of MDMA and cocaine in the Wagga and Turman areas. We will allege this
01:07is a syndicate, an urbanised group that is banned together to supply a dial-a-dealer arrangement
01:15where they would supply drugs to the Wagga and Turman community.
01:19We have charged those seven people with more than 30 offences.
01:26We expect further charges to arise and further arrests to be made today.
