Recently, I had a chiropractor from Albany, New York request a Free Local SEO Audit for their business. After doing that, I created this video using a different company to share my thought process of the Local SEO Audit / general chiropractor local SEO tips any business can take to rank better.

00:00so the keyword here is chiropractor i'm using local falcon it's a nine by nine grid and i
00:04believe this is a five or six mile radius sports and spinal has the highest share of local voice
00:08at a 40 percent you can click on any listen over here you can see how the map will change
00:13this is very important because if you see that you only have a couple green dots that means you're
00:17only on page one of google in the map pack at those areas so what i mean by that if you google
00:23the keyword chiropractor albany new york google displays three organic map pack listings on page
00:30one this is where the majority of the website clicks and phone calls take place because most
00:34people will do a google search not a map search they'll do a google search and then they'll
00:38contact these first couple listings here to see if they're available maybe drive to to them to you
00:44know schedule like an appointment or whatever it is these first three are so critical let's say
00:49you're position eight so you have to click on more places now you have to scroll down to one
00:55of these lists that say like your peak performance chiropractor that's how someone finds you so if
00:59you're not in position one two and three on that heat map it's an additional step for someone to take
01:04that's why you're probably not getting as many phone calls or customers to your business you might
01:08have a great looking website which we're going to get into but if you're not on page one that's why
01:12you're not getting the phone call so the example here is going to be dr bath so let's look them up here
01:17we go 6.1 and by the way the view that i'm using here these are all the businesses that are in the
01:26area that are competing roughly in this exact same nine by nine five mile radius because there's tons
01:31of competition so it's so critical to flip dots to get more customers for your business so you can
01:36continue to grow and you can invest and you can hire and you can you know whatever else that goes on
01:42but you have to be found first on page one so let's look at their profile and let's uh talk about
01:48what they can do to rank a little bit better so let's go back into uh google over here let's put in
01:54their um uh their brand name and let's talk about their profile so to start 49 google reviews that's
02:02great but if you click on this you go to newest notice how and they're getting reviews which is which
02:07is like the hardest part getting reviews is hard but they don't respond to reviews responding to
02:12reviews will help with dwell time uh because the users who are thinking about you know uh using a
02:17chiropractor to something with their neck or back or sports injury they want to see that the owner is
02:22responding to the reviews dwell time is a ranking factor people spend more time on these profiles i think
02:28google will then actually artificially raise your uh listens a little bit because users are actually
02:32liking what they're seeing is they're reading respond to reviews and it can also help increase
02:38phone calls and website clicks and directions because they can see that there is the owner
02:42behind it who is responding who's you know if someone had a good experience like they're responding
02:46they're happy for them you know people want to see the same thing too so respond to reviews it's a
02:51really easy thing but i but unfortunately they're missing out on that number two their primary category is
02:56chiropractor and that's good uh there are secondary categories you can play around with but having
03:02chiropractor there makes a whole lot of sense that's good number three they have a physical
03:07address now most chiropractors do uh the reason why i call it an address is that i've been getting
03:14reached out to by some hvac companies and locksmiths who don't have a physical address um and if you
03:20don't have a physical address that's displayed on google my business chances are you're not going to
03:24rank as well so if you have a physical address that is very important it drops a pin on the map but
03:28also users can click on directions it helps with dwell time it can help rank you even better so
03:32make sure you have a physical address i'm sure you do if you're a chiropractor but i always like to
03:36call this out next is your hours so hours when you're open is a ranking factor so the reason why
03:43i share this is that the audit that i did i noticed that a lot of the competition all had the same standard
03:47hours it was roughly like eight to five it seemed like everyone was going after what i suggested to
03:53them was that maybe they should try one day a week where they change their hours and they go from
03:58let's say from eight to five to something like ten to seven because my thought process was if everyone
04:03else closes at five o'clock and you're open for two more hours you're going to catch a whole wave of
04:07people who are let's say done with work now who are let's say like they're sitting in an office chair
04:11all day or or they're out on a construction site or whatever it is and they now need to search for
04:16a chiropractor to schedule a future appointment uh if you're open um like two more hours past your
04:23competition you actually will improve your rank better for the term chiropractor and chiropractor
04:27near me because you're open um so i suggested that it's a it's like a hack and you can then look at
04:33your own call data like call rail or whatever you use to track phone calls and say hey it was actually
04:38worth it for us to be open slightly later than our competition on some days we got more phone calls we
04:42scheduled more appointments for the week when we're when we are open because we were uh open
04:48uh two hours past our competition so that's really important uh now things that i don't see that they
04:54have they don't have any updates they don't have any reviews on other uh platforms and they don't have
05:00any question to answer so there's some things missing about their profile which i think would actually
05:05help them rank better so what do i mean by that let's go to tm blast over here so tm blast my
05:12profile i have um so two things one i have this question actually three things first question
05:17and answers so i have people will ask questions or i might even ask it myself ask questions and respond
05:23directly it's a great way to build out your profile plus you probably get the same question all the time
05:28as a chiropractor so ask the question answer directly use the keyword chiropractor that can help
05:33you rank better next i have a secondary site called well it's it's called trust index it's a online
05:42reviews website so people can leave reviews on google my business or trust index directly the
05:47point though is that having trust index here actually makes my google my business account even uh bigger
05:53so they actually link out to my trust index so i can click on this over here if you want to see
05:56and users will then go to this page you can read all the reviews you can you can toggle on trust index
06:02uh versus google you can even bring in reviews i think from yelp and from the app store and there's
06:06a bunch of other platforms too so it's actually quite a powerful tool but what i really like about it is
06:10that it makes my profile even bigger i think dwell time is a significant factor when it comes to uh
06:16local seo so you have your google reviews but you also have secondary reviews on trust index so
06:21get reviews on yelp trip advisor facebook whatever it is just diversify your reviews i think that's
06:29going to help and then next here is that they don't have any updates so updates are anything you
06:33want to share within your business so for me i'm always sharing results for local seo clients b2b
06:37b2b you know sas whatever it is but for my local seo clients i'm always recommending them take photos
06:43of your team doing the project share photos of your location anything that's important because then you
06:47can add keywords to it helps with dwell time i think will also help a lot with your rank too so
06:52include updates expand upon that share the photos of inside your location again dwell time dwell time
06:58dwell time i think it's really critical it'll help you rank better for the keyword chiropractor
07:03all right here is their website now i'm not going to go in depth of you know their keywords and
07:08and anything like that all i want to do is give a quick tip by the way i think this website looks
07:12phenomenal but here's the quick tip down here in the bottom right hand side this is actually the
07:18wrong address uh that's shown they pulled in their address for their business but they don't
07:23actually show their business name so what i mean by that is that if you go to let me go back to
07:28their profile over here so let's go back one here it is if you click on their map profile and you click
07:34on share embed a map notice how this map now says dr bath has their address has their five star review
07:41at a 49 and there's a directions link so it's basically the same map but you're actually creating
07:45that connection back back for your profile into your website the map that they have is actually
07:49incorrect because it's just their address there's no directions tab you can you can click there
07:55just a missed opportunity but that's why i would recommend embed the correct map into your footer
08:00that would really help too all right so i don't want again i don't want to spend too much time on
08:03the website because this isn't you know a full-on like audit that i'm doing this is just a quick
08:08one for this you know for this video but my last tip is to use either bing or google put in your
08:14website into brackets and then do minus site and then your your website name again so what i can
08:19already see here is that when you take out their website name it's really just facebook and instagram
08:24that show up uh for entities and if you do that for within google it's just instagram so the reason
08:30why this is so important is that um you want to have online directories that talk about your business
08:37name your address your phone number anything else like that so what i would recommend if i was working
08:42on their account they should be on listings for schenectady latham cohoes albany uh clifton park
08:49whatever it is they should be on online directories that talk about them as a chiropractor
08:54because those online entities are going to be picked up by google from like a ranking standpoint
08:57then we'll also look at it too and even chat gpt as well when they're looking for let's say
09:01chiropractor near me they're going to look for online entities like yelp or anything else like that
09:05they're going to say hey like here are some listings here that um will probably satisfy your search so
09:10getting on online entities will help you rank better for chiropractor it also driving referral traffic
09:15and what you can do too is you can have partnerships with those places and you can say hey
09:19do you do any additional marketing uh for for local businesses most of them will because they
09:25want to do that and what you can do is you can get on their direct mailer you can get on a social media
09:29blast whatever it is to promote your chiropractor business in the areas you want to service it would
09:35then increase your brand search for you know your brand name plus chiropractor i think that google
09:40will then look at that when they see you responding to reviews the dwell time will actually increase
09:45that'll actually help lead to a better uh ranking for chiropractor i think you've changed the hours
09:49a little bit you can also get a ranking boost and there's just even so much more but i you know when
09:54i look at this as the number one listing in sports is spinal wellness and they're at a 40 and i look at
09:59dr bath at a six percent i keep saying what would going from six percent to twelve percent do for your
10:04business or twelve percent to twenty percent and the same radius that you service you you get more
10:09website clicks you get more impressions you get more phone calls and hopefully you get more
10:12schedule appointments as well because you're ranking for the keyword chiropractor that's so huge
