Cool, rainy weather may not have been ideal for Father's Day weekend, but it was perfect for AccuWeather's Ezra Nanes and Joe Lundberg as they competed in the Pennsylvania Happy Valley Ironman triathlon.
Transcript
00:00The rain poured, but the Ironman Triathlon in State College Pennsylvania powered on this past Sunday.
00:07This grueling event covers 140.6 miles, a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride, and a full marathon all in one day.
00:18Now we wanted to take a moment to give a shout out to a few members of the AccuWeather team who took part.
00:23That includes AccuWeather's Director of Strategic Account Management and State College Mayor Ezra Naines on the left there.
00:32And of course, you know I'm on the right, the crystal ball meteorologist Joe Lumberg.
00:37I'm not sure if this was before or after.
00:39I think before. You see the smiles?
00:41Yeah, I was wondering who would be smiling afterwards, but I know they were both hard trainers for this event.
00:48It's not the first event that they've done, these Ironman triathlons.
00:51It's just amazing. I see Joe, you know, he finishes up his shift here, he goes right on his bike.
00:55I don't know how Ezra does it. That's a lot of jobs.
00:57And to also be training for long distance, you know, what is our excuse, Bernie?
01:00We don't have any except I don't think I could do it.
01:03Maybe I could walk it, but even that would be pushing it.
01:06No, props, props to them.
01:07They were saying the weather actually was, you know, good for this when you're doing that many miles.
01:11Obviously, your body's going to heat up really quickly, so nice to actually have a cooler day.
01:15We appreciate Ezra for sharing some of these pictures here.
01:17In addition to, you know, competing, he's also giving us content. You'll love it.
