Ahmedabad (Gujarat), June 16 (ANI): In a remarkable effort, 144 doctors completed over 270 post-mortems within 13 hours. With help from forensic and dental teams, 266 DNA samples were processed for identification and dispatch. The team handling post-mortem has experienced doctors and staff, having experience of more than 5000 post-mortems.
00:00When the government of Gujarat received the information regarding the aeroplane class at Ahmedabad, near the civil hospital campus, all the doctors from each and every district parts from the Ahmedabad regional districts, we came here, including the doctors from the medical college, from the Vijay Medical College, Medical College from the Gandhinagar, Medical College from the Sola Civil, all the doctors we accumulate here.
00:27And according to the golden hours periods, we had dedicated to the teams around 140 doctors were there in that team and we had assigned the duties. We had tagged each and every dead bodies and then after we had started the post-mortem, post-mortem on the basis of the police inquest, we had divided the teams, first 10, first 10 and second 10.
00:49We had planned for the three portions, one in the trauma center, old post-mortem room and the other areas. All the doctors had started simultaneously the post-mortem as the inquests are coming.
01:01On the basis of the dead bodies conditions, we had planned each and every dead bodies from the Air India Crest. We had planned the DNA samples extracting from the dental team, extracting from the forensic team and each and every team have one medical officer, one forensic expert and one FSL person, one from the dental college.
01:24We had finished all these post-mortem within 13 hours. It is our great success for the government of Gujarat and it is a great teamwork from the government of Gujarat.
01:34We had finished all the tasks within 13 hours, around 5am early in the morning. We had handed over all the DNA samples around 266. Out of 274 dead bodies were done the post-mortems and then after all these samples will be sent by the civil hospital Amdabad, the ambulance and on that part we had received all the DNA results soon.
01:59And now within 48 hours, we had dispatched the dead bodies to the relatives.
