00:00hello i'm nathan judo i am delighted to be joined by wool supporters mr liam keen liam um story

00:15just come out we knew the changes were happening but official confirmation this afternoon uh of a

00:19number of changes at boardroom level at wolves so i think it's important just to a quick visual video

00:24to go with your story that's gone online today um matt hobbs out we knew that a sporting director

00:30dominico tetty is in uh as his official title as the club's director of professional football so i'll

00:37just read a little bit of the official statement that's come out from wolves uh just now wolves

00:41have made a number of changes to the structure of its football department including key personnel

00:45appointments ahead of the 2025 2026 season as part of the club's continued focus on strengthening the

00:52professional environment and improving operational efficiency across departments dominico tetty

00:58has been appointed as the club's director of football so let's start with him let's start with

01:02dominico he is official now he is he is part of the wolf setup and what do you make of the change and

01:09what kind of capacity we expect him to be in at the club william yes one that we've been waiting on for

01:15a little while um waiting for it to to get finally announced um and uh and dominico tetty to to arrive

01:21at wolves um and as we said from the very beginning it would be less of a sporting director role which

01:26matt hobbs was in and more of a technical director role uh the exact uh uh title as you said is the

01:34club's director of professional football which comes under a sort of similar to director um sorry

01:38technical director sort of role which is sort of more focused really a sporting director is across

01:44recruitment and across all sorts of different things uh at the football club this will be

01:48much more nuanced for dominico tetty um focusing more around as it says here improving the strategy

01:55and planning around the professional uh first team football it's also about collaboration and sort of

02:00making sure that things aren't uh you know doubled up on and to to to make the most cohesive use of the

02:06people in this in this team um and it will be really interesting how he fits into that structure

02:11when it does come to uh recruitment we'll come on to who is going to be dealing with that in a second but

02:16we know he's got a background in scouting we know he's worked with v talk prayer before um and as a

02:21as a team and as a group that may not be his necessarily under his remit but i'd be surprised

02:26if he's not in some way uh involved in that as well um and then of course it all comes back to

02:30to jeff she is the the man at the very top of this yeah um well you mentioned um a couple people there

02:36let's talk uh matt jackson then um seems to be a little bit of a promotion for him and and look

02:41again a very important role that he's got now yeah and actually i did say this um a while back

02:46when you remember the the controversy around the uh the the situation the women's team and not

02:53applying for the promotion license at the time matt jackson alongside my house at the time both went

02:59to see the uh the girls and the staff to go and speak to them um and sort of smooth things over but

03:05equally i'd also said at that time matt jackson was in line for a slightly different role um that's now

03:10come to fruition um it's been specifically defined as director of player recruitment and development

03:17so that is pretty self-explanatory um it's not just going to be looking at you know the academy

03:22and looking at those players coming through um as well as also the women's team the wolves do actually

03:27confirm that in their statement as i'd said previously but also now having more hands-on approach

03:32to negotiations with players um and bringing players in and recruitment as well which again it's

03:38important for these people to have these individual roles individual titles and have it

03:42as a sort of cohesive unit matt hobs did obviously a lot of this with people sort of underneath him

03:47it's now a group of people that are below uh jeff shears chairman that are working on their

03:52individual roles yeah it seems to be a big job for for him i mean you know you've got the seniors for

03:57the first team which of course you know you as you can understand takes priority but then you've got

04:02the academy and you've got the wolves women as well you want them you want the other two to to

04:06have fair fair crack at the whip as well don't you but it is going to be as you would understand

04:10that focused on on first team yeah i look i mean they've got people in the academy that focus on

04:15player development as well and they've got other people that sort of will report in uh when it comes

04:18to those you know the academy and the women's side of it as well but you know from a the football

04:23club's perspective um the the biggest role will be focused on you know first team recruitment for

04:29the men's team um that's the the position the you know the club will be in and as much as it'll be

04:34important to have an eye on those other things as well as part of the role yeah having this

04:39recruitment ahead if you will will um it's important for wolves to have that sort of focus

04:45um and it'd be interesting to see how they get on because we know that they've had a a a relationship

04:51with guest if you enjoy mendes that never went away under matt hobbs that's all they still used

04:55them they still did deals with them um at the same time they weren't as over reliant on them

05:00uh how much that is then now used going forward will be will be fascinating we'll you know should

05:05get some more information on that soon as well um because look the first sign and they're looking to

05:08bring in inferlopers is a guest yeah guest to be clients so yeah watch this space yeah um and then

05:15a couple of i guess you know just mentions uh of matt wilde who's been there max fitzgerald of course as

05:20we know uh very well focused on media relations but both both on the board as well yeah and no major

05:26changes here really um it's uh you know i think important for those people to be mentioned from

05:32the club's perspective because you now know who it is exactly that's part of this big leadership group

05:37um and of course on top of that as well you've got phil haywood um around the uh in fact i think he's

05:43got a a newly appointed role so congratulations to phil haywood as well i'm sure he'll be delighted

05:47with that um appointed director of performance that you know comes into uh sports science psychology

05:53health and well-being things like that and of course he's got an extensive background at wolves

05:56in particular over two spells uh in all of those things so so yeah i think from the club's perspective

06:00yeah again having those names out there and knowing exactly who is on the the the board who's on the uh

06:07this this leadership team um is is really quite important um but i keep bringing it back to and

06:13it sort of does highlight this in the the the announcement the statement as well that all of these people

06:18report to jeff she jeff she's the chairman jeff she makes the final decisions these people will have

06:24a big input and will have a big uh part in in how this all works but jeff she makes the final decisions

06:30on these things i think that's important for people to to be aware of yeah i mean look he's the top dog

06:36and he's the one who's going to give the green light to hopefully a a fruitful window just going back

06:42to the to the guest a few links and the george mendez and what was like you say it still had

06:49plenty of contact with george mendez but they did seem to move away from guess if you guess if you

06:54guess if you slightly with some some signing sprinkled in there do you feel that it will be

06:59leaning more on them especially with these roles and tetty coming in that that you can see that

07:04it is going to have a a larger slice of the pie in terms of player recruitment i know it's to be

07:09you know still to be confirmed but it just looked that way didn't it well look they continued to

07:14use him previously anyway there was lots of deals that were done that he was involved in um but there

07:19were also deals that you know matt hobbs as the sporting director and his scouts had identified

07:23themselves that they moved in that direction for um he's no longer at the club of course lots of

07:27scouts will still be there but um you know it's important to look back on the relationship that's

07:33you know existed with george mendez um and and albeit it hasn't gone away the first player

07:37they're bringing in now is is you know a client of his i think we'll have to do some work really to

07:42um outline exactly the role they're going to have over the next few months and that's what's going

07:46to be you know the burning question so we'll be bringing some more on that definitely because i

07:50think it's important to give a bit more detail a bit more analysis on exactly how it's going to work

07:54just feel like a fresh changer doesn't it feels that feels like there's some moving parts here

07:57definitely feels like a new beginning so to speak yeah there's no longer a sporting director of the

08:01club so it has to be you know something very new and very different um and again highlighting the

08:06the decisions are made by jeff shea as chairman he's the man that makes those final decisions i

08:11think from everyone's perspective to bring that across is is really quite important yeah uh that's
