00:00Did the United States invite Field Marshal Asim Munir to Washington to celebrate the US Army's
00:05anniversary and Trump's birthday? Just the idea of something like that happening made a lot of
00:09people in India and abroad very furious. But was it true after all? No, there was no such invitation
00:15extended to Munir as per news agency ANI quoting a White House official. However, the time it took
00:20for them to confirm this was enough to create a mild political storm here in India. Member of
00:25Parliament from Congress, Jairam Ramesh took to X with this piece of news calling Washington's
00:29invite to Munir, a big setback for India from a diplomatic and strategic point of
00:33view. The BJP intern called out Jairam Ramesh for casting aspersions on India's foreign policy
00:38and echoing narratives that serve Pakistan's interests, a comment made by BJP's IT cell
00:43chief Amit Malweer. Reports of Munir's arrival in USA also sparked protests among Pakistani
00:48communities within the USA. Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan's party PTI announced
00:53protests in Washington DC against Munir's visit. Earlier, US CENTCOM chief Michael Kurella
00:58praised Pakistan's role in counter-terrorism, specifically crediting Munir for a top ISIS
01:03Khurasan leader's arrest. Despite this, Kurella also reiterated that USA's relationship
01:08with India is also deeply valued.
