Après une semaine de bataille intense, à moins d'un mois du Grand Départ du Tour de France, le Critérium du Dauphiné s'est conclu ce dimanche sur la 8e étape. Et au Plateau du Mont-Cenis, c'est Lenny Martinez qui s'est imposé ! Après une semaine de galère, lui qui visait le classement général et qui a complètement explosé, le coureur de la Bahrain Victorious offre le premier succès aux Français sur cette édition. Derrière Martinez, Jonas Vingegaard (2e, Visma | Lease a Bike) et Tadej Pogacar (3e, UAE Team Emirates XRG) ont passé la ligne ensemble, sans s'être livré une grande bagarre. Le Slovène remporte donc ce Critérium du Dauphiné ! Il est accompagné sur le podium final par le Danois et Florian Lipowitz (Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe). Cette étape a également marqué la fin de carrière de Romain Bardet (Picnic PostNL), qui n'a pas joué un rôle majeur, mais qui a profité !

00:44Yeah, we go to altitude camp, Isola 2000 and then a few days home and to the tour.
00:55It's basically not too much to do, rest after this great week, do some extra work on time trial maybe and then I'm ready.
01:05It's always important to win, how important is it to win the Dauphiné for the first time?
01:09Yeah, I've been here in 2020, it was shortened Dauphiné because of the Covid times and it was one of the hardest five days I ever did in my career and since then I didn't return.
01:22And yeah, finally I did it and I'm super, super happy and proud.
