00:00This morning, after a week of turmoil, from protests in some U.S. cities to new strikes in the Middle East,
00:06there are no signs that plans for President Trump's, quote, big beautiful parade are changing.
00:11Final preparations are now underway.
00:13That will include hundreds of tanks and roughly 7,000 soldiers.
00:18We have the strongest military in the world.
00:20Tomorrow's celebration here in Washington will honor the Army's 250th anniversary,
00:25which also falls on President Trump's 79th birthday.
00:28The president says an expected rainstorm won't dampen spirits.
00:32It doesn't matter. It doesn't affect the tanks at all. It doesn't affect the soldiers.
00:37If they're used to it, they're tough, smart.
00:39With the president in a new legal battle over sending military troops to immigration protests in L.A.,
00:45he's warning against demonstrators at tomorrow's parade.
00:48If there's any protest that wants to come out, they will be met with very big force.
00:52The Pentagon hopes the parade will help recruitment.
00:55I'm hoping that, you know, at the end of the day, the American public is as excited about the Army as I am.
01:00Still, the Army estimates the festivities will cost $45 million,
01:04and that's sparking criticism from Democrats and even some Republicans.
01:08I would save the money, but, you know, if the president wants to have a parade, he's the president, and I'm not.
01:15The last time D.C. hosted a military parade? 1991, to mark the end of the Gulf War.
01:22Several groups are organizing protests across the country, including one called No Kings,
01:27denouncing what they call corruption in government.
01:29I don't feel like a king. I have to go through hell to get self-approved.
01:34One immigrant advocate is also warning his community.
01:36Are you urging people not to protest on Saturday?
01:40Yes. Anyone that has an immigration status that can put them in danger for deportation, we are asking not to go.
01:50Now, authorities have installed these metal plates around the city to prevent the tanks from tearing up city streets.
01:56Now, President Trump is supposed to watch this parade from right over there, and over here is the Washington Monument.
02:01There will be a large spectator area here.
02:04Now, Craig, this has the potential to affect travel across much of the country
02:07because there will be a ground stop at Reagan National Airport for three and a half hours during the parade.
02:14Craig?
02:14Gabe Gutierrez for us there along the parade route in Washington.
02:17Gabe, thank you.
02:19Hey, thanks for watching.
