24:27so this looks like a uh self-contained rescue breathing apparatus
24:32mostly for miners but uh basically in all small spaces
24:36there's a lot of carbon monoxide in mines
24:38which of course as we all know is dangerous to humans
24:41so yeah you take this ring out of here
24:43you pull on it to open it up
24:45and out comes this little mask thing with some chemicals in it
24:49there's like little things on the inside of the mask
24:51you bite down on that that releases the chemicals
24:53the chemicals turn the carbon monoxide into carbon dioxide
24:57which is non-toxic to humans
24:59and you can breathe for about an hour
25:01this one looks like it's probably 1940s world war ii vintage
25:05they did not use this specific
25:07almost kind of a trash can style for too long
25:10because it is very heavy
25:11they've modernized them and upgraded them
25:13but they basically work the same still
25:15they're still desirable
25:16they're just kind of more for decorative purposes these days
25:19so what about the hat

25:23now that i unearthed with this

25:27so this is a carbide lamp
25:29it was invented in the 1890s
25:31this actually uses calcium carbide
25:33that's why it's called a carbide lamp
25:34which is just a basic mineral you can get
25:36you put it in here in the bottom
25:38you put water in the top
25:40you just pour some water in there
25:41you've got this little flint here
25:43you know like a lighter
25:44click on that and it creates a spark
25:46and the calcium carbide mixed with the water
25:49creates an acetylene torch
25:50and that lets you see
25:51these create a really great intense light
25:54this little lamp lasts for just about 12 hours
25:57ooh that little thing that long
25:58yeah
25:59but this is the most important right here

26:04the material kind of reminds me of the ones in the army

26:23or untie it and make it bigger or smaller
26:25i'd say this this isn't even that old necessarily
26:28probably from the 80s or 90s
26:31they still make this cap today
26:32and it still looks exactly like this

35:26other day lupe and i are meeting with wanda swallow owner of play clothes vintage we heard
35:31you were the the dress expert i don't know if i'm an expert but i've seen a lot of clothes in my life
35:38this is a really cute little 70s pattern it looks like the fabric's probably original it's that typical
35:45kind of mini skirt turtleneck long sleeve but it looks like it's made by someone at home but this is
35:51beautifully done the fabric looks original it's an old metal zipper even though it is homemade
35:57it's still really well constructed and kept in wonderful condition and now this one i call it a
36:02brady bunch dress it's definitely a brady brunch dress so it's a 70s pattern 70s colors the oranges
36:09the yellows the limes but unfortunately it's new this is a newer store label and they do mainly 70s
36:16things but they're both really cute well we have some other things too we got oh my goodness so we
36:21got the party dresses now we got the now you've got the mirror ball and you know these go way back
36:27they go back into the 20s even when uh people were swing dancing but these would have been fairly common
36:33in the 70s so we've got the two smaller ones this is really great just that glow the color it's in
36:40good condition there's no mirrors missing the attachment is still here looks like it works
36:45pretty well that's great well our disco party is not quite over yet oh okay we have the party light

37:22go the different levels and stuff there's maybe a little crack in the plastic there but this is
37:27really in good condition for thinking about how old it is and that you would be carrying it from house
37:33to house for your house parties so i mean what do you think about these things what do you think they're
37:36worth i would say in total about

38:12all right so what do we have here many different radiator caps okay this one i'm looking at right
38:18here it almost looks like a model a but the shape is a little bit different i would think that's probably
38:24late 1920s like chevrolet that looks more like a chevrolet cap to me and probably chrome plated because
38:31chrome plating came about in 1924 1925 because the chrome was really highly corrosion resistant and
38:37they still use the same process where they polish the metal it gets copper plated and then nickel but
38:43it fades it corrodes the chrome goes over the nickel and it retains that luster so that's why we still use
38:48that process today this is a bit earlier and it still has the pressure cap in in here for a pressure
38:55relief they found that by holding the pressure in the radiator it raises the temperature of the
39:00water before it boils so you got better cooling properties and it's steel and it was nickel plated
39:06before they had chrome that's probably late teens early 20s and i think that might be off of like a ford
39:12tractor oh so this this was a combination hood ornament as well as the radiator cap this is actually
39:20lincoln probably late 20s early 30s as well lincoln was like the high-end part of like ford motor company
39:28henry ford started that division a lot of this was like almost a status symbol on your car i like the
39:33detail that they have the ribs and everything in there it's like it's art again it is like somebody
39:38like an artist made that because of the zinc and the chrome plating you can see it's in really good
39:43condition this this is like high-end chevrolet late 20s once again but look how art deco that is i know
39:51look how sharp and crisp all the lines are about the time these were produced we were going through
39:57the depression and there was a lot of pride in built-in america that resilience that strength and
40:02again the cars were a big part of that as well so that's an example of an american eagle interesting
40:08collection you got there you know if somebody's restoring a car they're going to want something
40:13original like this but even if you don't have a car i mean there's a lot of people that collect these
40:17all right so how much money do i have here i would think this being you know a baseline chevrolet cap
40:25probably a good 40 this tractor cap about 60 bucks okay i would think this would come in second place
40:33here wait wait did you see did you turn it over is it anatomically correct what it might add to the
40:40value so i would think something like this even to somebody who's just a collector that's probably
40:46380 dollars okay that didn't hurt that's good now this 1920s chevrolet eagle it too's in really good
40:55condition the rarity of it i'm thinking about 400 bucks okay here we go if my math is right that's 880
