Police have provided an update following a murder in Burton Latimer

00:00Yesterday afternoon, Friday the June 13th, North Hampshire Police received a report of

00:05a man involved in the collision in Folly Way, Burton Latimer. Substance inquiries sadly

00:11led to officers discovering the body of a woman in her 30s at an address in Donington Road.

00:18Detectives from the East Midlands Specialist Operations Unit have launched a murder investigation.

00:23A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody

00:27today, Saturday June 14th. First and foremost, the thoughts of North Hampshire Police and my

00:34personal thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim at this completely devastating time

00:40for them. My neighbourhood teams are supporting the ongoing murder investigation and we've enhanced

00:46our policing presence in the Burton Latimer area to offer community support and reassurance.

00:52I know that people are very upset by this tragic death and I want to reassure the community

00:58that we are not seeking anyone else in connection with this investigation and we do not believe

01:03there is a wider risk to the community. The investigation is fast moving and our teams

01:08are dedicated to securing answers to what has happened. Any information which could help assist

01:15with inquiries then you are asked to call us on 101. Next of kin are being supported by our specially

01:23trained family liaison officers and they have asked us to request their privacy is respected in this
