00:00When we look at the win yesterday for OKC, a lot of people understandably talked about
00:06the close to the basketball game, where in the final four minutes they really only made one
00:12field goal, which was a Halliburton layup. I think the bigger issue for the Pacers up seven
00:19is how quickly that gap was closed. The game was tied within the first four minutes of the quarter.
00:27I know that Tyrese is not playing, you know, the 45 minutes. Sometimes you'll see it from a
00:33superstar, but Halliburton finishing with 36 minutes, Pascal with 35 minutes, a plus one for
00:42Tyrese, a plus seven for Pascal, but a seven point loss on your home floor. JY, am I off base here or
00:49maybe was this a spot where Carlisle didn't go for it enough? You got us in a game like this,
00:57where you got a team down, that first four minutes of the fourth quarter is proven to be vital.
01:06And if you look closely, I know Halliburton didn't have a great third quarter, but you pulled him and
01:12you got him about, I'm going to say about two minutes of rest late in the third. And then he
01:18played the last possession of the third, and then you pulled him back out to start the fourth.
01:24And you went with your Naismith, McConnell, Nembrard, Obi, Pascal lineup, in which a team was just about
01:34to fire defensively. You can't have TJ McConnell in there in that spot. You can't. And to me,
01:43if I'm Tyrese, I look at, I look at Carlisle and I say, you got me two minutes and 20 seconds of rest.
01:51I came back in for one possession to end the third, and then it's a media timeout end the quarter,
01:56which is another two and a half minutes. I have set four, I'm going to say, counting, you know,
02:02like stoppages. I probably set five to six minutes of real time and played 20 seconds.
02:10There's no reason why he should have started the fourth quarter on the bench. He should have been
02:16in the lineup. You've removed McConnell, you go with him and Naismith, Nembrard, and you go with
02:21Obi and Siakam, which is essentially your starting five, because Miles Turner can't get to four rebounds.
02:28Sorry, that's a story for another day. But to me, and that's my time, you got to go, if you got a team
02:34on the ropes, especially when you're the underdog, and this is home court now leaning, you got to ride
02:40your big fish to the final. And he should have started with Tyrese Halliburton to start the fourth
02:45quarter. It feels a little light. You know, the 36, it's actually before it should be 38 kind of
02:51and again, it's just from the control perspective of the game where you don't want to see that seven
02:56points wither away. And it came quickly, right? It was, it was gone very quickly. So like,
03:01hey, they're out there. We control the position one more, you know, one more to be a one extra
03:06bucket out of it. So it's, we don't see it dissipate. We still have a two point lead.
03:09Like those are the things because coming into the series, we talked about like, man, we could talk
03:14about SGA. Yes. He's the best player, star for star. He's the better player. I would talk about the
03:18bench, but like coaching, I think we were firmly on board with saying like Rick Carlisle is the better
03:23coach in this scenario. So checking those boxes, like, yeah, I want to take like half that check
03:27off because there's some concerning things. Like he still is the better coach and has a far better
03:32track record, but it's like, is he getting a little gun shy of like, eh, he's the stars at home kind of
03:38thing. And that, that has me concerned because when it comes down to it, game four is the chance for
03:43the Pacers to strike. And I think they may have lost it. Yeah. That's the thing for me. I feel as if,
03:49look, I think they're still, I'm not sure Dagnalt is, I'll put it to you like this after this
03:54post season, I have no idea if Dagnalt's a good coach. Like that's like, and that's probably nuts,
04:00but like I, he has not been very good and Carlisle could easily turn and go, I put Tyrese in at the
04:09nine 30 mark. I didn't sit him until the seven minute mark. Okay. And we, we put it, we got a lead
04:15backup. You know, it wasn't as if it was tied and then it was run away. And then, and again,
04:21he would probably win that back and forth. It then for me, Pascal, here's my problem with Pascal.
04:27It's not his fault. I just know that if you ask people right now, Hey, who's been the Pacer MVP,
04:34Pascal or Halliburton, there would be some people who would say Pascal, and that is going to bother me
04:38forever because it's been Halliburton and it's not been close.
