The brakes on the bus involved in the crash that killed 15 Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) students were in working condition, according to a Puspakom report.

The preliminary technical report, released on Saturday (June 14), indicated that inspections of the brakes, brake lining, and brake drums showed no signs of wear.

00:12The preliminary technical report confirmed that inspections of the brakes, brake lining

00:21The air compressor system was also functioning properly, with no leaks detected.
00:26The tyres, steering system and suspensions were reported to be in satisfactory condition
00:32and met all Road Transport Department specifications.
00:36However, investigators noted that the bus's leaf spring and shock absorbers were misaligned,
00:42possibly as a result of the impact from the crash.
00:45The report concluded there was no mechanical failure that contributed to the accident,
00:51raising the possibility that other factors, such as road conditions or human error, played
00:57a role.
00:58Transport Minister Anthony Loke, in a statement on Saturday, said the Ministry will consider
01:03necessary improvements once the final report is completed.
01:07He reaffirmed the government's commitment to road safety and extended condolences to the
