Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir has ordered a thorough investigation into the tragic bus accident that claimed the life of 22-year-old Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) student Manarina Hasya Muhamad Karim.
In response, UUM Vice-Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan announced the formation of two special committees — one to investigate the cause of the incident, and another to review the safety standards of the university’s shuttle bus services.
He added that the university has assisted with funeral arrangements and provided financial aid, including insurance compensation and bereavement support to the victim’s family.
