00:06Welcome to Miss Mojo.
00:07And today we're counting down our picks for the top 10 haunted amusement parks.
00:11Years of not giving the attraction much thought would come back to haunt Great Adventure,
00:15however.
00:16For this list, we'll be ranking the amusement parks located within the United States that
00:19have reportedly experienced paranormal activity.
00:23Have you been to any of these places or experienced anything strange?
00:26Let us know in the comments.
00:29Number 10, Universal Studios Hollywood, Universal City, California.
00:34If you've ever visited Universal Studios Hollywood, the odds are probably pretty good that you
00:38had a great time, without thinking too much about the laughing spirits of ghostly pilots.
00:44If you're into the paranormal, however, then maybe you're familiar with the story of Frank
00:48Stites, who reportedly haunted the back lot long after his death.
00:53It's said that Stites' ghost could be seen wearing vintage aviation gear due to the fact
00:57that the real-life stunt pilot tragically passed away while performing at the opening of the
01:02then-titled Universal City back on March 17th, 1915.
01:06Today, an effigy mannequin dressed in tribute to Stites can be found on the back lot standing
01:12as tribute to the fallen pilot and his ghostly remains.
01:16Number 9, Six Flags Over Texas, Arlington, Texas.
01:21It's said that the ghost of a little girl haunts the Yellow House, located near the entrance
01:25to the Six Flags roller coaster, The Texas Giant.
01:29Her name is Annie, and if you're an Arlington local or a paranormal enthusiast, then you're
01:33probably aware of her legend.
01:36Customers and employees have reported sightings of Annie in and around the area, roaming about
01:41Six Flags Over Texas.
01:43Seriously, there's ghosts in here?
01:44Oh yeah, there's something here, alright.
01:46Her body was originally found in a creek bed back in 1920, a creek that was located on
01:52the ground that now holds the park.
01:54A local paranormal group even conducted an investigation that turned up a recording that supposedly said,
02:00Let me play with your hair.
02:02So is the house here at the park haunted?
02:07We may never know.
02:08Number 8, Kings Island Amusement Park, Mason, Ohio.
02:12There are a number of ghosts that are said to haunt the premises of this amusement park
02:16that's located in Mason, Ohio.
02:18The most famous of these Kings Island ghosts is probably Tower Johnny, who's said to have
02:23haunted the Eiffel Tower replica after falling from an elevator shaft during a grad night
02:28party back in 1983.
02:30Tower Johnny is one of the most popular ghosts at Kings Island.
02:35Electrical issues at the park are often attributed to his mischief, which ties into one of the
02:40real life tragedies of Kings Island, known locally as Black Sunday.
02:44Tower Johnny is often blamed for the electrical malfunctions of the park.
02:50Here three people were accidentally electrocuted in a fountain, while a fourth fell to her death
02:55while attempting to view the accident while on an aerial ride.
02:59Number 7, Cedar Point, Sandusky, Ohio.
03:02We're staying in Ohio for the moment, and narrowing our criteria to focus upon one specific ride
03:08over at Cedar Point Amusement Park.
03:10It's the park's famous carousel.
03:20Tales have been told for years about a ghostly woman that could reportedly be seen riding one
03:26specific horse at night.
03:27It was even said that the ride would operate on its own at night during one of her hauntings.
03:32The woman in question was actually described as being the ghost of Mrs. Mueller, the wife of the man
03:38who carved the horse for the carousel back in 1917.
03:47Today, the original horse is no longer on the carousel, but is on display in a museum in the park.
03:53Number 6, Disneyland, Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer Island, Anaheim, California.
04:00No one should ever lose their lives at the happiest place on earth.
04:04The DeLaurid brothers admittedly broke the rules when they were able to stow away on Tom Sawyer Island
04:09by avoiding Disneyland employees.
04:12When they decided to leave the island, however, they decided to swim across the rivers of America.
04:17The older brother, Bogdan, tried to swim with his younger sibling on his back,
04:21as Bogdan's brother didn't know how to swim.
04:23We're gonna go to the pirate's lair.
04:27I am so excited. I don't know if things have changed, what has stayed, what has gone.
04:32We're gonna find out. We're gonna find out.
04:33Tragically, the elder sibling ended up drowning, while the younger DeLaurid managed to signal for help while dog paddling.
04:40It's said that Bogdan's ghost still haunts the island to this day.
04:45Here we have Dead Man's Grotto. It says beware.
04:48Number 5. Bush Gardens, Tampa Bay, Florida.
04:52An amusement park restaurant might not be the first place one might think to look for a ghostly apparition,
04:57but employees at a Tampa Bay Bush Gardens eatery swear that there's something strange in their neighborhood.
05:04The sightings take place specifically at the Serengeti Overlook Pub,
05:08formerly known as the Crown Colony House, and workers there have described cold spots, children's laughter, and mechanical malfunctions after hours.
05:17Some have named the ghost Wendy, while a mysterious woman in white has also reportedly been seen wandering the dining room after all the guests have left for the day.
05:26Number 4. Sylvan Beach Amusement Park, Sylvan Beach, New York.
05:31The next amusement park on our list has actually leaned into their spooky reputation for the paranormal,
05:37even offering after-hours ghost tours for the skeptical, optimistic, or morbidly curious.
05:42But they say this place is haunted.
05:44Sylvan Beach Amusement Park is allegedly the home of several benevolent ghosts of individuals that are said to have loved the park during life,
05:52so much that they continue to show up to members of the staff after their deaths.
06:14The hit television show, Ghost Hunters, has even visited Sylvan Beach during one of their episodes,
06:19lending further credence to the legends that still swirl around the park to this day.
06:24Did you hear that?
06:24Yes, I did.
06:27I just heard something down there as well.
06:30Number 3. Enchanted Forest, Turner, Oregon.
06:34Speaking of ghost hunting programs, Ghost Adventures was another show where the cast decided to see for themselves
06:40the veracity of claims concerning a haunted park.
06:43In this case, it was the iconic Oregon amusement park, Enchanted Forest.
06:48This place is an amazing, DIY, hand-made, family-owned theme park that has been around now for just shy of 50 years.
06:58The park is absolutely charming, with tons of heart, soul, and character.
07:03But it's also reportedly a home to ghosts that roam the rides and attractions late at night.
07:08Now get ready.
07:09This is allegedly due to the land upon which Enchanted Forest stands,
07:20land that is said to have been a bloody battleground, haunted by the souls of slain soldiers.
07:26Is it true?
07:27Stay the night and find out.
07:29Number 2. Lake Shawnee Amusement Park, Princeton, West Virginia.
07:34Although Lake Shawnee Amusement Park has been out of operation for decades,
07:38there are a number of reasons why the area is said to have been haunted long before it was forced to shutter its doors.
07:44One of them is allegedly due to the fact that the land that houses the park is an ancient Native American burial ground.
07:51If that sounds like a cliché plot of a horror, that's because it is.
07:55But Lake Shawnee was also the site of a couple of tragic deaths on park grounds.
07:59But there were apparently no less than six deaths associated with this time as a park.
08:04Additionally, attempts to reopen the park were officially kiboshed when excavation uncovered
08:09skeletal remains of those aforementioned Native Americans,
08:13pushing Lake Shawnee officially into the, holy crap, this place is haunted, category.
08:18This was a stone that they found in that excavation and now they used it as a tribute to all of those that remain here on the grounds.

08:45Number 1. Six Flags Great Adventure, Jackson Township, New Jersey.
08:50We wish we could end this list on a lighter note,
08:53but sometimes reports of paranormal activity possess roots based in some real-life tragedy.
08:58A fire raged through the popular Haunted Castle attraction featured within Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson Township, New Jersey.
09:06Park guests gathered around the scene, but were asked to leave as the disaster became more intense.
09:12The incident took place on May 11th, 1984, spreading quickly due to the highly combustible materials that made up the castle's construction.
09:20Firefighters from 11 surrounding communities responded, but were unable to advance into the structure due to heavy smoke.
09:29Within 20 minutes, the building looked burned down, one park visitor told reporters.
09:35Eight victims died after being trapped within the ride,
09:38and spirits of young people wearing clothes indicative of that era
09:42are said to have been seen by both guests and park employees alike.
09:46There were around 30 guests inside the attraction when the flames took hold.
09:50When the flames took hold.
09:51We hope that their spirits, if indeed present at Six Flags, somehow find rest.
09:56Do you agree with our picks?
