00:04Consuming everything in moderation is certainly a healthy way to think,
00:08but there are many benefits to cutting your sugar intake.
00:11If you decide to stop eating it altogether,
00:13Well and Good offers this insight into what actually happens to your body.
00:18First of all, Dr. Smith, author of Blast the Sugar Out,
00:21recommends reducing intake over the course of five weeks,
00:25decreasing your consumption by around 20% every seven days.
00:29You can expect less energy and withdrawal after one week.
00:33Dr. Smith says not everyone experiences it,
00:36and if you do, you have to believe that it's going to get better.
00:40After two weeks, your brain fog has probably lifted,
00:43but it's important to make sure you're eating plenty of protein, healthy fats, and fiber.
00:48Week three, you'll start to see the benefits.
00:51But week four, you've never felt better, but your sugar levels will be low,
00:55which leads you to week five.
00:57This is a psychological week.
00:59That final push.
01:01You also understand the effect sugar once had on your body
01:04because you feel so reinvigorated in week five.
