00:00Hi everyone, in this video I'm going to do a tutorial of perplexity.ai and perplexity.ai is an AI powered search engine, which is very good and you can use this without an account, although I do recommend making an account because you can save your searches and you just go to perplexity.ai, that's the URL, that's the domain name.
00:30And yeah, so let's get started. So first thing is, what is perplexity.ai? Perplexity is an AI powered search engine, like searching on Google, except that it mainly has AI summaries and links to sources. This is as opposed to Google searches for many years, where you would search for things and Google would give you the most relevant URLs, relevant to your queries.
00:54Now Google.com and Google Gemini give AI summaries as well, but perplexity has been AI searched from the beginning. AI powered, mainly, often summaries. And perplexity has the potential to profoundly change how you search for things online.
01:15So, I'll give you this example here. For example, let's say that you wanted to ask it, what are the differences between ChatGPT and perplexity?
01:26This, when you search for this, of course, it takes time to generate, but it gives a very good answer, in my opinion. It says they're both advanced conversational AI tools, ChatGPT and perplexity.ai.
01:44But here's the differences. The ChatGPT is a general purpose conversational AI chatbot, whereas perplexity is an AI powered answer engine or search engine.
01:58And perplexity performs built-in real-time web searches for every query.
02:02And then, yeah, so you can see this. This is a great answer, in my opinion. It gives a very thorough answer.
02:15And then, for example, you can copy the output, or you can export it. You can share it. I'll show you an example of what it looks like to share it, or to copy the output, I mean.
02:24So this is an example of output. If you copied it, you could, again, this is to copy it, and if you wanted to get the output, you can do it like this.
02:37And this is markdown code, and you can use the site to do markdown to HTML, to copy that into a Google Doc, or you can do markdown to HTML.
02:51You can copy this into something like Google Docs, or you can use a site to convert this to HTML to better be able to read it, but this is how it comes default in markdown.
03:07So I think this gives a very good answer. And then earlier I asked it, what is the speed of light? This is, you know, a simple way to test an online search engine.
03:16So it gives a very good answer, in my opinion. This is what the speed of light is, and importantly, yeah, it does give some, it gives the sources.
03:30So the sources, for example, here, links to Wikipedia. It links to space.com.
03:36And again, let's say we want to copy this. Put this in a new one here. So it gives the links. Notice it gives the sources at the end.
03:48And, you know, that's a simple question, and it gave a simple answer, and I think that's quite good.
03:54So notice it links to Wikipedia, Britannica, space.com, and other top sites.
04:04Okay, and now what I want to do is teach me how to, I want to ask it now something useful.
04:13So let's say, for example, you wanted to start a business online.
04:17Teach me how to make money online, remotely, with low or no investment costs.
04:31And I want legitimate income, not doing anything scammy, for example.
04:40There's a lot of, okay, so let's say, for example, you want to make online income.
04:50Give me good ideas that don't take very long.
04:57Okay, so let's say, for example, you wanted to make money online, and let's see what it's going to say.
05:02So I asked it about making money online, and look, it's getting a lot of different sources.
05:07It says, nerd wallet, that's a good site.
05:11I know that.
05:13I've been to it several times.
05:15So let's see what it says here.
05:16If you want to earn legitimate income online, remotely, with minimal or zero upfront costs.
05:22Okay, so the first thing is that it has to understand the query, and I think it understands it very well,
05:28and it's giving back, you know, basically summarizing what I told it to do.
05:35That's a great thing.
05:37There are several proven available things.
05:40So you can do freelance work, for example, Upwork, Freelancer, or Fiverr.
05:44It tells you why it works, how to start, and investment, zero dollars.
05:57Yeah, that's probably true.
05:59With Upwork, you might actually have to spend more than zero dollars because of some annoying things,
06:05but you can still start with zero dollars.
06:08Website and app testing.
06:11So you have sites like User Testing, TryMyUI, and TestBirds.
06:16So that's some good ideas.
06:18Proofreading and editing.
06:22This is a good idea.
06:24Virtual assistance, so that means being like a secretary for someone.
06:29Online tutoring, affiliate marketing.
06:32For example, this is something I do.
06:36Micro tasks and surveys, that's a good idea.
06:39Translating and subtitling.
06:41So I think that's a really great idea.
06:44Digital decluttering and community management.
06:48I think that's a good idea, and it gives a...
06:53And then you can download this as a CSV, which I think is very cool,
06:57and it gives you this output.
06:59I think that's very good.
07:02So it gives a very thorough answer,
07:04and I also wanted to show you what's the...
07:06If you copied the output, what it would look like.
07:09So notice that, again, it gives you the...
07:13It gives you links at the end,
07:18so it gives the sources at the end, which is fantastic.
07:21If you want to investigate it more, you can,
07:23or you can just use the summaries it's giving.
07:27And I want to show you how you can convert the markdown
07:31if you have such a need.
07:34So what you can do is you can copy all of this
07:37and then paste it into here,
07:40and then you can paste it into something like Google Docs,
07:44or here I'm using OnlyOffice.
07:48And that's how you can convert it to...
07:52If you want to put it in a doc,
07:54again, this is OnlyOffice.
07:56You could use Google Docs or something else.
07:58So that's something very useful,
08:02and I think this is a very good answer.
08:06Okay, and now let's continue here.
08:08So you can say, for example,
08:10I am interested in affiliate marketing
08:13and other ideas besides freelancing.
08:22So I'm following up on this.
08:24Tell me more about website and app testing.
08:31Is it easy to get approved
08:34and easy to make money quickly with them?
08:42Can this even be a full-time job,
08:46or is it very difficult
08:48to get app testing work consistently?
08:53So what I'm doing is I...
08:58For example, let's say I wanted to make money
09:00doing this.
09:03I think it's a very good answer.
09:06I want to see how it's going to work.
09:13So...
09:14And I give it this answer.
09:17And so notice again that I followed up on that.
09:20Website and app testing.
09:23How it works and what to expect.
09:25What do testers do?
09:27So it says,
09:28It is a legitimate way to earn money
09:30by providing feedback on digital products.
09:32Blah, blah, blah.
09:33How to get approved.
09:37They might have you do a practice test.
09:40Time to approve.
09:41How much can you earn?
09:43Okay, about $10 per video that gets approved.
09:48However, the number of available tests
09:52depends on your demographic profile,
09:54the speed of earnings.
09:58Okay, so can it be a full-time job?
10:00For most people,
10:01it's best viewed as a side hustle
10:03or supplementary income,
10:05not full-time income.
10:06And it gives links to all these.
10:07So I wanted to show you here again.
10:11It's for...
10:12I think for almost all of these,
10:14it usually gives a link.
10:17And you can right-click on the link
10:18if you want to see the relevant...
10:22relevant sources.
10:26So this is somehow different
10:30than a typical Google search
10:33that would previously
10:34just give you the link.
10:36This actually can summarize the link,
10:38but also give you the original link,
10:40which is very useful in my opinion.
10:43Okay, so the part...
10:44So basically,
10:45the answer is it's mostly part-time.
10:49And then notice here,
10:50if I go on here,
10:53I can go add to follow-up.
10:54And you can follow-up on another.
10:58Or you can check sources.
11:01And that's a very useful thing.
11:03This is checking the sources.
11:08So not reliable is a full-time job,
11:12best as side income.
11:13So this gives a very good...
11:17I think this is a no BS answer.
11:19This is accurate and truthful.
11:21And if you're familiar with AI,
11:25sometimes AI will make stuff up.
11:28It's getting better and better all the time,
11:30but sometimes AI does make stuff up.
11:32I think that's...
11:33Some people call that hallucination.
11:36But at least with perplexity,
11:38it's very good in that
11:39almost all of what it has,
11:41it gives links to the sources.
11:44Sometimes the sources could be wrong,
11:46of course,
11:46but I think that perplexity
11:49is only getting better and better.
11:52Okay.
11:53So again,
11:54let's say...
11:54And then if you wanted to share it,
11:56you could.
11:56You could export it
11:57and rewrite.
11:59And often what I'll do
12:00if I want to save it
12:01is I'll just copy.
12:02And then later I'll
12:04use something like this site,
12:08markdown to HTML,
12:09and then I might
12:10use Google Docs
12:13or something like this.
12:15I use only Office
12:17often.
12:20And then...
12:21Yeah.
12:22So this is very, very useful.
12:24And notice here,
12:25again,
12:26there's the links to...
12:27Like, for example,
12:28links to ZipRecruiter,
12:29links to...
12:32And we can go to this link.
12:34For example,
12:34ZipRecruiter says
12:35what is a website titer,
12:37how to become one.
12:39So this is very useful information.
12:44And now let's say,
12:45for example,
12:46teach me more
12:48about affiliate income.
12:51I have...
12:52Teaching...
12:54I have...
12:56You can say
12:56I have a website,
12:58YouTube,
12:59and other...
13:01You can say
13:01channels on YouTube
13:04and other sites.
13:06And I make
13:08frequent
13:09videos on tech.
13:12How can I
13:13make more money
13:15consistently
13:16with
13:18affiliate income?
13:21I do
13:21affiliate marketing
13:23for
13:24DigitalOcean,
13:27AppSumo,
13:27and other sites.
13:30But I would like
13:31strategies
13:33and more ideas
13:36for making money
13:38with
13:39affiliate income,
13:41affiliate marketing.
13:42Okay, so notice
13:45I have some
13:47misspellings here.
13:48I said
13:48this is a misspelling.
13:51And I want to keep
13:52the misspelling in there
13:53because I want to
13:54show you that
13:54yeah, it's super smart.
13:55This is AI search
13:56and more.
13:59And
13:59so let's continue
14:01with this.
14:02So I want to
14:03add this here
14:03and ask it about
14:04affiliate marketing.
14:05And yeah,
14:11it gives a very
14:12good answer.
14:16So
14:17leverage
14:17short form
14:18and long form.
14:19He talks about
14:20Instagram,
14:21TikTok,
14:22and YouTube
14:22are driving
14:23massive organic
14:24reach,
14:26optimize for
14:26AI powered
14:27and voice search,
14:29build and
14:30monetize
14:31an email
14:31newsletter,
14:32use a
14:33multi-channel
14:33approach,
14:34TikTok,
14:34Instagram,
14:35and so on.
14:36Use your website,
14:37deepen your SEO game,

14:39programs,
14:40engage your community,
14:41track and optimize,
14:42stay updated
14:43and adapt.
14:45So these are
14:45fantastic ideas.
14:47So
14:47this was
