00:00You know, he's gotten better every time he stepped out.
00:03Every situation, a lot of things are new, and every time he did it again,
00:07or had an opportunity to see the rep again,
00:10did a nice job of taking the coaching points and improving on the next timeout.
00:14And today will be his third time down here in the red zone.
00:17That's important.
00:18It's another critical area, an area we need to improve in.
00:21That timing happens, everything happens faster.
00:24The windows are much more condensed, and it's always good.
00:27It's just you can't get enough work down in the red zone.
00:29So that's another nice way to cap off the camp for us,
00:33is to work down there in the short part of the field and see if he's approved from the last time.
00:37So excited about that.
00:38So we've tweaked all along.
00:39You know, we found out some things, especially, like, points.
00:42You know, how are you dividing up points for the offensive line, for example?
00:46It's really hard for offensive linemen to get positive points.
00:49They don't have TFLs.
00:51They don't, you know, kind of linemen just do their job, and that's their job.
00:54So how do you award points for that?
00:56And so we've tweaked some of how we've awarded some points to the guys up front.
00:59We've tweaked a little bit of the process as it's gone, sort of a little bit of trial
01:04and error.
01:05Not even dramatic, but just little things that would come up.
01:07We'd maybe make an adjustment here and there.
01:09But I'm really happy with how the program went.
01:11Again, I think you can ask the players how they felt about it, but I think it kept our competitiveness
01:16high.
01:17I think it kept our focus on the things that matter.
01:21The intent of what we were trying to get done was sort of on our minds all the time.
01:25I hit it every day in the team meetings, from practice, things that showed up that we needed
01:29to cover.
01:30So I think it made us a better football team at the end of the day, and that's what the goal
01:34was.
01:35And again, we got another whole lot of work ahead of us, but for the program in and of
01:38itself, I thought it was, for the most part, successful.
01:41Right.
01:42Yeah, it's a good question because I just hit it today, this morning.
01:46With the team, what we started to see over the course of the house season, particularly
01:50over this last probably four or five practices, is the things that, the sins that we can control,
01:57which for those that don't know this, we call them sins, they're self-inflicted negatives.
02:01So, false starts, operation, procedure problems, pre-snap penalties, all those things that just,
02:08that indicate sloppy play in all phases.
02:12So those have sort of trended down as the weeks have gone by.
02:17And so the only real sins that yesterday was a great example, the only major sins that
02:21we had were more the physical ones.
02:23And those happen.
02:24So we can live with those.
02:25But we've trended down on eliminating all of the things operationally that we can control.
02:30It's been cool to watch that process play out.
02:33And you see the effect, as the old adage goes, you get what you emphasize.
02:38And we've emphasized it pretty dramatically, and I've seen the improvement from it.
02:42Now, again, it's June.
02:44You know, we've got to keep seeing that improvement.
02:46But I've been pleased with what has shown over the course of the Austin.
02:50That's our, you know, that's our job, ultimately.
02:52And that's the whole philosophy behind the draft and develop process.
02:56You know, you've got to take young players.
02:58They've got to play for you.
02:59You have to coach them.
03:00You have to coach them hard.
03:01They have to be ready and available to go play.
03:04And that's how you develop the guys.
03:06And our assistant coaches have done a fantastic job with that process.
03:10They've been really pleased with the work they've put in, with the work that those young players have put in with them.
03:16And then the other part of it, too, is there's a whole player development program that we have kind of kicking off the ground here
03:23that sort of monitors all these things all the way through the season.
03:27And there's off-the-field things.
03:29There's performance in the weight room with strength, weight, body comp, all those things.
03:35There's a, you know, personal development part of it.
03:38I'm really excited about how that program is going to get put together for these guys over the course of the summer.
03:44And then it really kicks off when they get back from training camp.
03:46So a lot of emphasis on development, not just as football players, but off-the-field, body composition, all those things as well.
03:54It's all part of the holistic picture.
03:55So excited about that.
03:56I think it's going to be good for us.
