Tourism ACS CS Rao briefs about arrangements for pilgrims for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra

Gangtok (Sikkim), June 12, 2025 (ANI): Tourism and Civil Aviation Department Additional Chief Secretary C Subhakar Rao on June 12 briefed about the arrangements for pilgrims for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.“We have made all arrangements for the pilgrims. Two liaison officers will accompany each batch. These yatris will reach Gangtok on June 15. Thereafter, there will be a 5-day high-altitude acclimatisation program for them. All medical facilities will be provided to them throughout their journey here. Telephone and Internet facilities will also be available to them at their places of stay in the state. We will request the CM to flag off the first batch of pilgrims at Nathu La on June 20,” said C Subhakar Rao.

00:00Almost five to five or six Salkabad, Che Salkabad, we are going to again starting this Manasarovar Yatra, Kailas Manasarovar Yatra.

00:10Then we have made all the required arrangements for all Yatris and Ushko liaison officer, two liaison officers,

00:19they are coming from Ministry of External Affairs, then supporting staff are also going from ITBP side.

00:25These Yatris, they are going to reach Gangtuk, they have already reached Delhi, their visa formalities, they are going to complete it.

00:36They are reaching here in Gangtuk on 15th.

00:39After reaching here, there is a five days acclimatization program is there, because they are coming from low altitude areas.

00:48This is the formality, required formality.

00:51So five days, they are going to stay in Sikkim.

00:54First day, their stay has been arranged in Gangtuk, in Senaltu Hotel.

00:59That is a good one, good hotel, it is a very good one, good hotel.

01:02They are going to stay one day here.

01:04This is, the total is at 6,000 feet altitude.

01:08Then after that, they are going to proceed 17th mile.

01:11That is at some 12,000, 12,500 altitude, okay, feet altitude.

01:19Then last two days, they are going to stay at Saritang.

01:26Two days, again, they are going to stay there.

01:29From, right from Bagdougra to this place, we have arranged ambulance and required medical facilities.

01:39Their stay places, we have arranged two doctors.

01:42Then nearby, PHC is there.

01:45Even Army, ITBP, hospitals have also been informed to provide medical facilities, if there is any emergency, to these athletes.

01:57At Gangtag, they are going to stay in a hotel.

02:00Then 17th mile, that one accommodation we have already developed, only for this Kailash Manaswarova Yatra.

02:08That is ready, then we are going to accommodate them in that accommodation, okay.

02:13Then in case of Saritag, we have constructed this accommodation at Hangu Lake.

02:18That will take another one, one and a half month to complete.

02:21That's why this year also, we have arranged their accommodation at Saritag, a state government accommodation, okay.

02:28All these three places, everything, telephone facility is there, internet facility is there.

02:33Then for their immigration, that responsibility has been given to SIB.

02:39SIB also, they made and they facelifted their some premises, because five years, they haven't done anything in that particular place.

02:50Everything is ready.

02:51Even yesterday, I also had a meeting with the ADSIB, then BSNR people, we had a meeting.

02:57Then everything, all of them, they are ready.

03:00Fifty athletes in this one day?

03:03No, total 50 athletes, actually 48 plus two liaison officers, 50.

03:10But this time, as informed by our officer from Delhi, he said 46 they reported.
