Man charged with murder after man shot dead in Ashmont

Riverina Police District crime manager Brent Falkiner details the arrest of a man in Narrandera, now accused of murdering a man in the street in Ashmont on June 9, 2025.

00:00Strike 4 Cervantes was formed by Riverina detectives with the assistance of State Crime Homicide

00:05Squad to investigate the shooting murder of a 37-year-old local man shortly before 3am

00:11on Monday the 9th of June on Connaughton Avenue, Ashmont. Following extensive inquiries,

00:17at 9.35am this morning, detectives with the assistance of Specialist Police arrested a

00:2335-year-old Narrandera man in the vicinity of Ladylock Crescent, Narrandera. That male was taken

00:32to Ogawoga Police Station and has been charged with murder and specially aggravated breaking error.

00:39The inquiries will continue. The other sections have worked exceptionally extremely long hours and

00:46have worked tirelessly to protect the community and provide answers for the victim's grieving family.

00:51We have received a lot of information from the general public and we thank the public for the
