00:00Over here is good. Beltline is low here, so.
00:07Right here.
00:08Protect yourself at all times.
00:09Obey my tomato at all times.
00:10Let's go, guys.
00:13So we are ready for our next contest as we take a look at the tail of the tape.
00:18You see Kristaps of Bulmi stars towering over Moreno-Fandero.
00:23However, as we point out seemingly every single Moreno-Fandero fight,
00:27he is deceptively long as he enjoys a reach advantage in this one.
00:33As the action is underway, this one's scheduled for eight.
00:37Moreno-Fandero hoping that it goes far less than that so he can get back to action
00:42and keep this torrid pace that he's been on.
00:44Absolutely.
00:45Moreno-Fandero has long arms and a short torso and an evolving skill set.
00:51There you see him just open up with two shots to the body.
00:54That's sort of a wrinkle to his game that we hadn't seen from him earlier on.
00:59But, again, to your point and Mark Ramsey's point,
01:01when you're as busy as Moreno-Fandero has been,
01:03you have a lot of chances to implement what you've been working on the gym,
01:06see what works, see what doesn't, and then implement some new stuff after that.
01:09And that's what we're seeing with Moreno-Fandero.
01:11A couple right hooks behind the ear of Bulmi stars there.
01:15That was the same shot that Ezra Taylor took him out with inside 30 seconds two fights ago,
01:22and Bulmi stars seemingly with a little bit of a leg issue perhaps.
01:28Yeah, he appeared to have rolled his ankle.
01:30Yeah, and he is on unsteady legs right now, and that won't help matters.
01:35That same shot that we were talking about, that right hook around the guard.
01:40Bulmi stars trying to battle through this, but this is bad news for the Latvian.
01:45Well, Corey, just watching him, he appears to have next to no traction on that right shoe.
01:50I don't know if there's an issue with his ankle itself or with the shoe itself.
01:56But he is sliding all over this ring, and there are painted logos all over the ring,
02:00and they are notoriously slippery.
02:02But you see it there.
02:07Bulmi stars being knocked off balance by the power of Moreno-Fandero on top of whatever issue he's dealing with right now
02:14as Bulmi stars tries to offer something up.
02:17But it is that body work that is paying dividends right now.
02:21Bulmi stars nearly goes down there.
02:24Yeah, and Bulmi stars is very lucky that Moreno-Fandero took that half a second pause to look at the referees.
02:31He is taking a pounding already.
02:37A little under a minute left to go here in the opening round.
02:40Moreno-Fandero just ravaging the body of Bulmi stars here.
02:45More hard body work there from Fandero, and that downward arcing hook from both hands is threatening to end this fight in the opening round.
02:58And that is just a counter right hand about a four-inch shot that has Bulmi stars on the canvas.
03:05And Bulmi stars is a martial artist, a traditional martial artist.
03:08He's a kickboxer.
03:10Would recognize the four-inch punch from Bruce Lee, and that's what Moreno-Fandero just hit him with.
03:15Bulmi stars coming up limping.
03:17This one should be waved off.
03:19It is waved off.
03:20Another knockout for the soldier.
03:23And it's about what we expected, Corey.
03:26Bulmi stars came into this fight with a seven-pound weight advantage.
03:30It was never going to matter, given the speed, given the skill, given the power of Moreno-Fandero.
03:34And again, this is part of the reason why he's been able to be so busy, because his fights end quickly.
03:39His perfunctory suspensions aren't very long.
03:43He's able to get back into the gym, back into the ring very quickly.
03:46Yep.
03:47By my calculation, the Quebec Commission will allow him back in the ring in 15 days.
03:51So maybe we'll see him in Quebec City.
03:53Moreno-Fandero could fight about eight rounds right now, I think.
03:57Right.
03:58Add him to the list, along with Eric Israelian, of guys who could go back to the locker room,
04:04take a sip of water, come right back and have another fight.
04:06I think we're unraveling the mystery as they unravel the tape of Christophe's Bulmi stars
04:12in terms of whether that was an injury or a footwear issue.
04:16The way that Bulmi stars is grimacing, the way he has his leg extended,
04:19it would seem that that is maybe an ankle injury right now.
04:22Yes.
04:23Well, I did see him appear to turn his ankle sort of somewhere near the ESPN Plus logo
04:28on the side, on the part of the ring that is to our right as we face the ring.
04:34But I'm just not sure how much that would have mattered, Corey, in the big picture,
04:39given the level of athlete and the level of prospect that Moreno-Fandero is.
04:46Bulmi stars a man with over 200 amateur fights himself,
04:50but Moreno-Fandero on a much different level as Fandero will improve to 11-0.
04:58Yet another dominant performance from yet another exciting prospect
05:04coming out of that Mark Ramsey stable.
05:06You think about it this way.
05:08Someone like Moreno-Fandero, every day he's in the gym,
05:11every sparring session he's going to spar with somebody like an Mbili,
05:15with somebody like Mehmed Unal,
05:17with somebody like Albert Ramirez who's been here since mid-May.
05:21And so anytime he goes from that day to day, day in, day out,
05:25to facing a Christophe's Bulmi stars,
05:28it must seem like Christophe's Bulmi stars is moving in slow motion
05:31in comparison to Mbili and Jaramirez.
05:35We'll take a look back at how this one ended.
05:39And it was the beginning of the end from very early moments in that opening round
05:45as you see Bulmi stars limping there, and that plagued him for the remainder of the bouton.
05:49Yeah, but even that initial turning of his ankle, that didn't happen on its own.
05:53That happened because Moreno-Fandero smashed him with an overhand left.
06:05Ladies and gentlemen, official time.
06:07Two minutes, 46 seconds of round number one.
06:10Referee Junior Padulo stops the fight, declaring the winner by TKO Moreno-Fandero.
06:26So Moreno-Fandero graduates into the eight-rounders.
06:31He hopes to be fighting at the...
