00:00When we were kids, we did promise ourselves an adventure.
00:06I don't think I'll actually come to terms with what I've been doing until I'm home.
00:15I'm finding that the longer I'm going on this race, the stronger I feel.
00:21It's just a whirlwind of emotion.
00:24This adventure has been the most uncomfortable adventure of my life.
00:29But it has been the most rewarding.
00:35The closer I'm getting to the finale, the more competitive I'm getting.
00:41If we add every single thing we've learned together now, I do think we have a good shot at winning.
00:47People will underestimate them, and I think that's one of our superpowers.
00:59The End
01:00The End
01:01The End
01:02The End
01:03The End
01:04The End
01:05I actually can't believe that we're here. And I actually can't believe that we've turned it around.
01:20We're going into leg aids in first place. We couldn't have asked for a better start.
01:24When you open that book, no name, how badly do you want to see that?
01:26Obviously I want to win. The only thing I've wanted this whole time is to have that book just empty.
01:30Empty.
01:32Empty.
01:33Empty.
01:34The odds are against us. But if we look at it in reality now, with the money that we've got, it could still be anybody's race.
01:38Why can't we catch up 19 hours? Everybody knows that you can catch up time.
01:42The End
01:43No name. How badly do you want to see that?
01:44Obviously, I want to win.
01:45The only thing I've wanted this whole time is to have that book just empty.
01:49Empty.
01:52The odds are against us.
01:54But if we look at it in reality now, with the money that we've got,
01:58it could still be anybody's race.
02:00Why can't we catch up 19 hours?
02:03Everybody knows that you can catch up time.
02:09Caroline is very competitive.
02:11And we're second to them.
02:13So we need to be much in their competitiveness, really.
02:17Let's win.
02:20It's really tight.
02:22Now everybody is on the same level.
02:24It is literally crunch time.
02:27We just need to go, go, go.
02:414.44 a.m.
02:48Hello, good morning.
02:49Good morning.
02:51Heading into the eighth and final leg, Caroline and Tom are in pole position.
02:55But as they begin the final battle to the finish line, mere hours separate the top three teams.
03:05You ready?
03:06Last one.
03:08The finish line.
03:10Kanyakumari.
03:11Ooh.
03:13Oh, very exciting.
03:15Shall we go?
03:15Let's go.
03:16Bye.
03:18This is it.
03:19After racing 13,000 kilometers, just over 1,000 remain.
03:27The distance that stands between the teams and a prize of 20,000 pounds.
03:32The finish line, Kanyakumari, sits at the southernmost hip of India, where tourists flock for the sunrise, and the 41-meter Tirovaluva statue stands guard, a profound symbol of Tamil culture and philosophy.
03:51To get there, they must traverse the southern states, where life by the sea has shaped its traditions, from spicy fish curries to water-bound rituals.
04:04The most obvious route to Kanyakumari is down the coast.
04:10Following along the coast may be the most direct route, but competition for tickets is fierce.
04:17And whilst travelling inland is a greater distance, heading via southern India's major cities offers regular services and well-connected highways.
04:31I think if we left Panjee and went inland, it does look a little more complicated.
04:37Yeah.
04:37I think we'd have to overcome a mountainous area, and it just seems to look a lot longer on the map.
04:43Whereas I think if we stick coastal route, shorter mileage, surely the distance is shorter that way.
04:49Then go from Kochi to Kanyakumari.
04:53Yeah.
04:54And then win the race.
04:56I love that plan.
04:58Caroline and Tom's plan, propel themselves along the coast to Kochi, in the heart of Kerala.
05:07Hello, good morning.
05:08We'd like to get a taxi to the station.
05:10As soon as possible.
05:15From our very first leg, we have learnt so much.
05:18This is the time for us to leave no stone unturned, do absolutely everything we can to ensure we come in first.
05:25How much to drop us at the train station, please?
05:281,800 of these.
05:291,600.
05:31Yeah, okay.
05:32Perfect.
05:32Okay, perfect. Thank you.
05:34Winning would mean everything.
05:36For myself, but more for Mum.
05:38It would mean so much to her to win.
05:41We are looking for a train south today.
05:43Yes, please.
05:44Which comes first?
05:45Udupi, Udupi.
05:478.15.
05:498.15.
05:50It leaves today?
05:518.15.
05:52Udupi won?
05:53Yes.
05:53Let's do it, Udupi.
05:55Thank you very much.
05:58Eager to get moving, Caroline and Tom make a snap decision to travel to Udupi, nearly 500 kilometres shy of Kochi.
06:06We're on the move.
06:09I think this is probably our best chance.
06:11I am feeling very relieved that we have a lead.
06:14It gives us a slight buffer zone.
06:16We're on the move, but we're not covering a massive distance, which another team could do.
06:23The thought of waiting around is absolutely awful to me.
06:26I think you've done good.
06:28Really, really good.
06:29Departing just under seven hours after their arrivals.
06:35Get the correct transport, make the right decisions, because, you know, Tom and Caroline, they had a head to start, so we need to catch up with it.
06:43Elizabeth and Letitia.
06:45I think the coastal route seems to be less in terms of kilometres.
06:48I think, though, that the inland route may have better roads, better connections, because of the bigger cities.
06:55Yeah, I feel ready to get to Kaniakamaru.
06:59Game on.
07:01The sisters' first step to reach the finish line, head inland to the state's cultural capital of Mysore.
07:10What time is the bus to Mysore?
07:134.45.
07:14Is it a sleeper?
07:15Yeah, sleeper.
07:16Yeah, sleeper.
07:17Okay.
07:20I'm like, yeah, motivation, let's go.
07:23We can do this.
07:24Let's just try our best, and our best will just get us there.
07:29On route, with a night train.
07:34Bus.
07:35Bus.
07:37Also making their departure.
07:39I'm nervous.
07:40Finn and Sean Ed.
07:42The finish line is Kaniakamaru.
07:45A tantalising 54 minutes behind the sisters.
07:49That's the last time we're opening an envelope.
07:51It's not going to be straightforward.
07:54It's going to be a hard leg, I think.
07:55Thank you very much.
07:56Thank you so much.
07:58Bye.
07:58Here we go.
08:00We've got this.
08:03We've just got to plan it well.
08:05Major cities like Bangalore seems quite big.
08:08We really need to use that to our advantage.
08:10Ask as many people as we can.
08:12Get as much information as we can.
08:14I don't think anything else really matters this leg now,
08:16other than just focusing on speed.
08:18There's no room for mistakes, really.
08:21Do you speak English?
08:23Do you know any buses going to Bangalore?
08:26What's he saying?
08:28I'm going to follow him.
08:30Okay, we're going.
08:32Where are we?
08:34Oh, I'm going.
08:35This feels, um, dodgy.
08:40I mean, that bus doesn't look functionable.
08:47We're following this,
08:48and I think he's taking us to get bus tickets.
08:51I'm not really sure.
08:54Ah, tourists.
08:56Ask me.
08:57I'm a tourist.
08:59Yes?
09:01Thank you very much.
09:02Thank you so much.
09:04Bungalow.
09:05Bungalow, yeah.
09:05As soon as possible today.
09:09Heading inland,
09:11they stick to their proven strategy,
09:13staying close to major cities
09:15with strong transport links.
09:18Stay good.
09:19Thank you so much.
09:20Thank you very much.
09:21I think my competitiveness
09:23has kind of ranked up a notch.
09:25I think I'm a lot more competitive than Finn.
09:27If he doesn't win,
09:28he doesn't want to be too disappointed,
09:30whereas I'll just be disappointed
09:31for probably a few years,
09:33and then I'll get over it.
09:35300 kilometres south,
09:39Caroline and Tom are approaching their destination,
09:42Udupi.
09:43Thomas?
09:44Mmm.
09:45Thomas?
09:45Yes?
09:46I hate to tell you,
09:46but we're only a few minutes away.
09:48Thomas?
09:49OK.
09:50OK?
09:50I avoid ever having to wake him up
09:53because it's normally really unpleasant.
09:55Sometimes I've even taken him in a hot cup of tea
09:57or a bacon sandwich,
09:58and I leave it beside him,
10:00tell him I've done it,
10:00and then just run.
10:01It's been beautiful scenery.
10:04Jungle,
10:05very, very marshland and wetlands.
10:07Mmm.
10:08And some beautiful water buffalo
10:09with their symbiotic birds.
10:12Mmm.
10:12They're beautiful.
10:14Good.
10:14The coastal city is flanked on one side
10:19by the Western Ghats
10:21and on the other,
10:23the Arabian Sea.
10:24We're in Udupi.
10:26But these natural barriers
10:28can limit onward transport options.
10:30Excuse me, sir.
10:31Hi.
10:31Do you have two minutes just to help us, please?
10:33Oh, thank you so much.
10:35Um, we need to get to Kochi.
10:37Kochi.
10:37Do you know if the train
10:38is one of the fastest ways to get there?
10:41One minute, huh?
10:41Oh, thank you for looking.
10:44There are multiple trains,
10:46but there are more seats available right now.
10:48Oh.
10:49No tickets.
10:50No.
10:52A bit of a kick in the teeth.
10:54Do you know if there's buses tomorrow?
10:56Tomorrow, there is an AC sleeper.
10:585.25.
11:00That's 5.25 in the afternoon.
11:01My worry is it's not exactly race mode for me.
11:05Physically, nothing else we can do.
11:08And I will sleep well tonight if we know it's books.
11:11Would it be OK if you could help us
11:12and book two tickets?
11:14Yeah.
11:15For the bus tomorrow night?
11:17An overnight bus will take Caroline and Tom
11:20500 kilometres south
11:22to the Keralyn city of Kochi.
11:25But not till tomorrow night,
11:27meaning a delay in Udupi.
11:29With our bus not being in till tomorrow afternoon,
11:33I'm quite worried about having Elizabeth and Letitia on our tail.
11:36Finn and Sean are there only about 45 minutes behind them.
11:39I think they're both breathing down our neck.
11:44Oh, this looks quite fancy, doesn't it?
11:48Has even got a door.
11:49Oh!
11:49Oh!
11:52Put it, put on it.
11:53I got ready.
11:54All right.
11:56LAUGHTER
11:56Setting off from Goa...
12:00So now it is race, race, race.
12:03Elizabeth and Letitia board an overnight bus to Mysuru.
12:07We'll be waking up in a completely different city.
12:10While Finn and Sean Ed also opt for sleeper travel,
12:14bound for Bengaluru.
12:16Tom and Caroline did have a head start.
12:19They may have spent this day going as far as they can.
12:22If that's the case, they will be further than us.
12:26We're going hundreds of kilometres tonight.
12:28We just need to get that extra little push to win.
12:31I think we can do it.
12:33Finn and Sean Ed are just an hour behind,
12:36so we do need to keep that lead ahead of them.
12:39This leg is now on over.
12:40Do you know what I mean?
12:41What we've got now is we've got the opportunity
12:48to catch a load of hours up, like just bombing it south.
12:52Trailing the leaders by 17 hours,
12:55Ryan and Melvin hope to kick-start their comeback.
12:58If we go inland, Melv, we're going to probably lose it again.
13:02We're just going to waste our time.
13:03It's about getting there as quick as possible.
13:04It is.
13:05We both still want to win.
13:06Yes.
13:06We both still want to win this, and we've got a chance.
13:08We have got to get as far south as we can.
13:10And if it's a taxi, then...
13:12That's what it's going to be.
13:13And if we run out of money, then we run out of money.
13:16We need to get it bought.
13:16The earlier we do it, the sooner we're on our way.
13:19OK.
13:19All right?
13:21Due to cost-effective travel across India,
13:24all of the teams have been able to preserve funds
13:27for the final leg.
13:29How far south can you take us?
13:32Bangalore.
13:32Yeah?
13:33Bangalore is 350 kilometres.
13:35It's fine. We'll go.
13:36Get the car, go to Bangalore.
13:38Yeah.
13:38For Brian and Melvin,
13:40spending nearly 40% of the remaining cash
13:43on a taxi to Mangalore,
13:45it's a crucial boost.
13:48Right.
13:49Good.
13:51So you think we'll get there about 6 o'clock in the morning?
13:54Yeah.
13:54OK.
13:55We're only going to be there for a quick cup of tea,
13:57wash under your armpits and carry on.
13:59We've got half a chance there of...
14:01..of doing something.
14:03Catching some time up there.
14:04Yeah.
14:05Winning the race would be absolutely brilliant.
14:08What an achievement to do that with your brother.
14:11If Tom and Caroline aren't hundreds of kilometres
14:14in front of them right now,
14:15then they're doing something wrong, aren't they?
14:16They just need a bit of bad luck
14:18and one-missed connection,
14:20and we can catch up.
14:22We'll catch up.
14:24If we won,
14:25and I could see Melvin's face,
14:28it would be fantastic.
14:31Money can't buy that.
14:32That would be brilliant.
14:34Whilst three teams race through the night,
14:38Caroline and Tom are the only pair at a standstill.
14:41It gets us to where we're going.
14:43Well, it does.
14:44It gets us bloody close to it.
14:50MUSIC PLAYS
14:52On the outskirts of Udipi,
15:06the Jumadi Islands,
15:09an archipelago situated in the delta
15:12of the Ceta and Suverna rivers,
15:15attracting rare bird species,
15:18including the black-backed dwarf Kingfisher.
15:21MUSIC PLAYS
15:22Look at those two, seriously.
15:23Wait, wait, wait, wait.
15:24Yellowy-green.
15:25Oh, yeah.
15:26They look like lemon and lime parrots.
15:29So this is like a little water safari.
15:31It is, yeah.
15:32It's turned out to be
15:33a little bird-watching exhibition.
15:36It's brilliant.
15:39Still waiting for their bus to depart,
15:42Caroline and Tom.
15:44It's the calm before the storm, Thomas,
15:46because it's bound to get so manic later.
15:49That was lovely.
16:00India delivers.
16:01Pretty cool.
16:02Just amazing.
16:03I thought I'd be too old to travel
16:08and experience what I've done,
16:10because you always hear about the young travelling
16:12and backpacking,
16:13and yet I now realise that
16:15when I can be just as capable and quick,
16:17it doesn't have to slow you down.
16:19You've kind of been tied down for 20 years,
16:22and now all of a sudden
16:23you can go and do whatever you like.
16:27I can now.
16:27I was frightened of,
16:28and this is being quite serious,
16:30possibly one day being lonely.
16:32Yeah.
16:32And just drifting my time until then
16:35without a purpose.
16:36Yeah.
16:37It's been quite sad
16:38to hear that you felt like
16:41you'd lost a bit of purpose.
16:42We never really spoke about it, you know.
16:44Yeah, that's true.
16:45Sometimes it's difficult
16:46to reveal yourself to your child
16:48as a person
16:50rather than just their parent.
16:51Yes, yeah, I know.
16:52It could possibly be awkward
16:53or a bit embarrassing.
16:55I now view you as
16:57more of a friend as well as a mother,
17:00where I think before
17:01you were very much
17:02a mother figure in the household.
17:04It's enabled me to
17:05see you in a different light.
17:07Oh, I'm so pleased.
17:10Travelling with you
17:10has been probably
17:12the best experience of my life.
17:15Oh, that's really nice to hear.
17:17It really has.
17:18It has been great.
17:20I think we both
17:21helped each other out
17:22a lot more
17:24than we could
17:25actually ever imagine.
17:29I wrote that in my journal
17:30and I wrote something else
17:31in my journal
17:31I kind of want to read to you.
17:33Let me go grab it.
17:34I'm actually going to read it
17:43because I'm sure you laugh
17:44at the spelling mistakes.
17:45Oh, I love them.
17:47Right, this was a note to self
17:48on leg six
17:49when we were at the carpet place.
17:52I keep having a feeling
17:54that me and mum will win
17:55but I think we already have.
17:56just remember how lucky you are
18:00to be travelling the world
18:01seeing the best things
18:02you couldn't even dream of
18:04with your mother
18:05and having the best time ever.
18:08Remember how well
18:09me and mum got on
18:10how fun she is
18:11and just how much you love her.
18:15I appreciate these times
18:17and these memories
18:17because there will be
18:19a time that I can't.
18:21This to me is winning.
18:22No amount of money
18:23can make me realise all of this.
18:28It was absolutely lovely.
18:30It's OK.
18:33I'm feeling very valued
18:36and very lucky
18:38and totally loved by Thomas.
18:42My son reintroduced me to the world
18:45and given me
18:46the second chance of life
18:47when I thought
18:48that might have passed me by.
18:50All right.
18:51We've had a lovely time
18:52but I think it's
18:53back into race mode now.
18:55Definitely.
18:56What a lovely thing
18:57for a young man
18:58to be able to
18:59express
19:00and write down.
19:05350 kilometres east.
19:07It's very tired.
19:09Oh.
19:11Oh.
19:14Let's go, Wendy.
19:15Let's go, let's go.
19:16Bangalore.
19:20Bangalore.
19:21Celebrated as the garden city of India.
19:24Home to one of the largest flower markets in Asia.
19:28We need a bus.
19:29Madurai.
19:30Madurai.
19:31Madurai, yeah.
19:31Pay off one.
19:32Today?
19:33Yeah, today.
19:34Ah.
19:34OK, that's good.
19:35Finn and Sean Ed are looking to secure bus tickets
19:38to hurtle them 400 kilometres south to Madurai
19:42in the Tamil region of India.
19:45Our last training session before the big day.
19:48Run, Sean Ed, run!
19:50The bus is until five,
19:52so we have a couple hours to kill.
19:54So I think we're going to explore the city
19:55and enjoy the last few days we have on the race.
19:57Mmm, that hummus is good.
20:01It's good.
20:02It's the nicest Josephine part.
20:06But here we are, nearly at the final.
20:09I'm actually having a whale of a time.
20:12Both a lot stronger than we initially thought we were.
20:15We can rely on each other, depend on each other.
20:18Yeah.
20:19This race has kind of done a lot for us
20:21without us kind of realising.
20:24You've still been strong through it all.
20:26Still been very resilient.
20:33Appreciate it.
20:34Appreciate everything.
20:38I'm not going to cry.
20:41I'm not crying in a dota place.
20:46It's been a journey and a path.
20:49It has.
20:50It definitely has.
20:51This race has shown sides that we may have not seen
20:57for the both of us, I'd say.
21:00Wow.
21:01Look at the flowers.
21:02Oh, wow.
21:03It's a lot of flowers.
21:06Shoya's always been there for me.
21:08She gets up in the night and helps my diabetes.
21:10She's very understanding.
21:12She cares a lot.
21:14So what do they do with them?
21:15Just decorations and stuff.
21:16Wedding item.
21:17Wedding item.
21:18Marriage.
21:19You get matching ones.
21:20Matching flowers.
21:21Oh, yay!
21:22Little neck things.
21:24You never ask for stuff like that.
21:28Can we have it around our neck?
21:33And you got a little bracelet as well.
21:34Oh, yeah.
21:35Oh, my gosh.
21:38Yeah, yeah.
21:40We've watched each other go up, really.
21:42We're like best friends and boyfriend and girlfriend.
21:46Oh, we could get married now.
21:48Oh, no.
21:51We can walk over the finish line, come in first with them on.
21:54We can wear our flowers first.
21:56Yeah.
21:57I think life for our children would be quite boring.
22:01It would be quite dull.
22:02I feel very, very lucky.
22:04I feel very fortunate to have Matt Tronard.
22:13So we get on here.
22:15Which is the first class?
22:17First class.
22:20After a seven-hour journey through the night,
22:23Brian and Melvin have pulled ahead of the race leaders
22:26and look to be extending their lead by train
22:29to the coastal city of Corricode.
22:34See, that's quite pretty, isn't it?
22:37Yeah, it's nice, isn't it?
22:38They have croconals, it's far south.
22:40Kerala, believed by some to mean land of coconut trees.
22:49A tropical state with a labyrinth of lagoons, backwaters and canals.
22:55Dotting its waters are its Ketuvalum boats,
22:59once used to transport rice and spices,
23:02now transformed into floating hotels.
23:06It is slotted into place, isn't it?
23:08We got straight out of the cab.
23:11And within two hours, we've got a train.
23:13There's a train, which we're now on.
23:15There's that little glimmer saying, well, you could do it.
23:17You might.
23:18You might do it.
23:19You want to go from England?
23:21We're going to Cozy Cody.
23:25Cozy Cody is known as a food city.
23:28Food city.
23:29Food city?
23:30Yeah, yeah.
23:31Tomorrow, we're going to Cochy.
23:33Train is there, good one.
23:34It's a good train.
23:35Can we book that train when we go into Cozy Cody today?
23:39Tomorrow, I will check the train.
23:42I will check.
23:42Just see me.
23:44One train is there, 1.45.
23:48It will reach for evening, 5.20.
23:51Thank you for helping us.
23:53Melvin.
23:54Melvin.
23:54Melvin.
23:55Brian.
23:56Brian.
23:56What's your name?
23:57Mansu.
23:57Mansu.
23:59Before you, UK.
24:00Yeah.
24:01You're all in India.
24:02Remembering?
24:03No.
24:03I don't remember it.
24:04Yeah, we don't remember it.
24:06How old are we?
24:07If I could apologise, I would.
24:10Season 1, this system.
24:12Train system.
24:12Train system.
24:13Beginning world.
24:14This system, you gave me.
24:15Did we do it?
24:16No.
24:20After 13 hours on a bus.
24:24So, this bus station, how long?
24:29Okay, five minutes.
24:30Okay, five minutes.
24:32Can we get a bus to Madurai from here?
24:35Yeah, yeah.
24:37Okay, perfect.
24:37Elizabeth and Leticia are approaching Mysuru.
24:42All our hard work has led up to this.
24:46Like, all the night buses we've taken, all the sleeper trains we've taken, like, it's all worth it for the win.
24:52Sharing the win together, that would just be the cherry on the top.
25:04Can we also get the bags?
25:05We need our bags.
25:08We need our...
25:09Unaware that their lead has slept, Caroline and Tom are trying to locate their pre-booked bus to Kochi.
25:22Bus operator name, Kalada Travels.
25:25Let's go over there, I think.
25:26Okay, let's go over there.
25:27I don't know how we get there.
25:28Oh, God, back to the chaos.
25:31God, we mustn't be late.
25:33Yeah, I know.
25:34We've got to find it, honestly.
25:36Let's leave a bus here.
25:37Where?
25:38Right there.
25:38Yeah, but that's not the one we've got.
25:40Do you speak English?
25:42Where do we get the sleeper bus to Kochi?
25:46Over there.
25:46Thank you very much.
25:48Thomas, come on.
25:49Is it here?
25:50Oh, shit, Mum, look at it.
25:52Yeah, the bus.
25:54Well done.
25:56I've got the ticket.
25:57Oh, have you got it?
26:00I'm just nervous.
26:01It's horrible.
26:03My mind just can't rest.
26:04There's been a lot of time since we arrived here yesterday.
26:08Yeah.
26:09And we're only leaving now.
26:11I know that's given enough time for Elizabeth and Leticia, Finn and Seanhead, and even potentially
26:16Brian and Melvin to even go past us, because we didn't travel that much distance.
26:21As the pair forge ahead again...
26:23So where does the buses come?
26:26I can do it generally.
26:27Just here?
26:28Yeah.
26:28OK.
26:30Finn and Seanhead are trying to escape Bengaluru, the second largest city in India.
26:36I think this is right.
26:37Are you sure?
26:38I think so.
26:40We're wondering if this bus is here.
26:43This is actually here, actually.
26:44Yeah, so the bus comes here.
26:46Yeah.
26:46Oh, what a relief.
26:48Do you know where there's a shop that sells, like, chips?
26:50Just a moment.
26:53Be here.
26:53Yeah.
26:56He really wants to help.
26:57He's very eager to help, isn't he?
26:59Yeah.
26:59Bless him.
27:09Oh, he's boising.
27:11Oh, my gosh.
27:13Oh, thank you so much.
27:14Thank you so much.
27:15You didn't need to do that.
27:16How much do we owe you?
27:18No, no, no, no, no.
27:18Are you sure?
27:19Thank you so much.
27:21I just wanted to help, actually.
27:22Oh, thank you so much.
27:24You've been so helped.
27:24You're a very kind person.
27:26Thank you so much.
27:27Because I have been to lots of places, OK?
27:28Yes.
27:29Where sometimes you get help.
27:31Yeah.
27:31Sometimes you don't know the language, or so.
27:33Yes, exactly.
27:33Very tough.
27:34Yeah.
27:34After that, what's your name?
27:35My name is Clinton.
27:36When I was born, ex-president of America, Bill Clinton,
27:39was there.
27:40Oh, wow.
27:41That's the reason.
27:42Wow.
27:42You've been named after him.
27:43All the rest.
27:44Thank you so, so much.
27:45Thank you so much.
27:46It will be safe.
27:47Have fun.
27:47Thank you so much.
27:48Have a good evening.
27:49Stomp it.
27:50Oh, he's got bananas as well.
27:53Oreos.
27:54Oh.
27:55Oh, bless him.
27:56That's actually the...
27:57That's the nicest thing someone's actually probably done for us.
28:03Is this us?
28:04Yeah.
28:05Yeah.
28:06All good?
28:08Look at that.
28:09No dust at all.
28:10This is so bougie.
28:11What a good sleep of us to end it on.
28:15I think I've settled with India now.
28:16I think I've settled with India now.
28:19The amount of time we've spent here, I think I've really adapted.
28:24The amount of different people you come across in these places, it's a cool country.
28:29There's a lot more to this country that meets the ire.
28:32That's exactly what I wanted to get out of travelling and out of this experience.
28:38Look where I am now.
28:40I had to finish the race first.
28:42In India where I thought I'd have to go home because I was struggling so much.
28:46As the couple take their second consecutive night bus...
28:52Here's a tuk-tuk.
28:53Are you a tuk-tuk?
28:54You're available.
28:55..one team take a break from the road in Corricode.
29:0140 rupees.
29:0240 rupees.
29:08A prosperous trading hub for nearly two millennia...
29:11..it's known as the City of Spices.
29:15You can see how much cash we've actually got, yeah?
29:18For Brian and Melvin, who have travelled 600 kilometres non-stop from Panaji...
29:24..a chance to take stock.
29:2650, 60, 70, 80.
29:2824,841.
29:30So I've got 20 for the running.
29:321, 2, 3, 4, 800 and a bit...
29:35..for Grub and beer.
29:36Money isn't going to matter about chasing the leaders.
29:40..we can't do any more than what we've done, can we?
29:43No.
29:44No.
29:45So money is irrelevant.
29:46The...
29:47Yeah.
29:48..the unknown on this leg.
29:50If we could create more time, we would.
29:53See if we could turn them out of time.
29:55That's what we want to do.
29:56It's Tina Turner, isn't it?
29:57No, it would cheer, wouldn't it?
29:59It's cheer.
30:00It's cheer.
30:01Melv, hungry?
30:02Yeah, I think it's Tom.
30:03Beer, biryani, naan bread.
30:07Go for it.
30:08That's it.
30:09We're gone.
30:10Can you get off my bed, by the way?
30:11Because this is mine tonight.
30:13Cheeky kit.
30:14Yeah.
30:15There's yours.
30:18We've done everything that we can
30:21in order to creep up the leaderboard.
30:24We are now relying on everybody else to cock up.
30:27We're going to get a mess.
30:28We will do everything we can.
30:37Would you want to have chai or South Indian coffee?
30:41Chai?
30:42Chai, please.
30:43Yes, please.
30:44All right.
30:46Ground down by a 13-hour overnight bus to Mysuru,
30:50Elizabeth and Letitia have found a bed for the night
30:53and a homestay run by Sarchin.
30:56I can see that a lot of your is from your travel.
31:00Yeah.
31:01Sarika is the one who picks all of these up.
31:02I love it.
31:03She's the one who decorates the house.
31:06I just live here.
31:12So all the rooms are booked by a wedding party.
31:16Have you attended an Indian wedding in the UK?
31:18We haven't attended any Indian wedding.
31:21Just like a night or a couple of nights before the wedding.
31:25They have something called Sangeet.
31:27Sangeet literally translates to music in Hindi.
31:30Okay.
31:31So it's like the bride and her friends and the groom
31:34and his friends, they put up a show, dance and stuff like that.
31:37It's not a South Indian tradition, but because of the movies,
31:40it's become so popular that even South Indians have started.
31:44They've adopted it.
31:45Yeah.
31:46If you're up for it, I'll check with the family if they're cool,
31:48with you guys coming in.
31:49Oh, lovely.
31:51Yes, please.
31:55Gosh, this is our dream.
31:58We've got to dress up as well, so.
32:00Sarika.
32:02Look at this.
32:04Lovely.
32:05The earlier we get ready, the better we go.
32:08Chop, chop.
32:09Let's go.
32:10How long do we have?
32:11Like 15 minutes?
32:12As fast as possible.
32:13You're in a race, right?
32:14Exactly!
32:16Yay!
32:20An Indian wedding typically lasts three days.
32:23The highest number of guests ever recorded, 150,000.
32:29According to Hindu faith, once a couple is married,
32:32they are bound to each other for seven lifetimes.
32:36Thank you so much.
32:37Wow, you're really good for it.
32:52The hips.
32:53Love it.
32:54They seem so welcoming.
32:55How can, you know, people come to the wedding?
32:58That's how it is.
32:59There are people who just go to weddings,
33:01even if they don't know anyone,
33:03and they're going to show up and then...
33:05Yeah.
33:06No.
33:07See?
33:08He's done it.
33:09No, no.
33:10I've done it, but...
33:14Wow, wow, wow.
33:16This is definitely topping off the end of the race in India.
33:20I just love how he's having such a good time.
33:22He's like...
33:23He's loving it.
33:24He's giving the energy.
33:25Oh!
33:26Oh!
33:29At the beginning of race,
33:30I feel like me and my sister's relationship
33:32was strained.
33:33Let me take a picture of you.
33:35Oh, you look...
33:36This looks so good on you.
33:41I feel like how we were when we were kids.
33:43We've become more comfortable in each other's presence,
33:46so I feel like the race has definitely allowed us
33:48to make time for each other.
33:50Hi, Laila.
33:51This is a great mom.
33:52Yeah!
33:53You look very...
33:54You look like sisters.
33:55I can see that you look alive.
33:57Look at them!
33:58Oh!
33:59Oh!
34:00Oh!
34:01Oh!
34:03Oh!
34:04Oh!
34:05Oh!
34:07Oh!
34:08Family is really important to me.
34:09I think at the beginning of the race,
34:11The race, I had so many assumptions of Leticia
34:16and I've slowly let those go
34:19and I'm seeing Leticia for who she is now
34:22and not thinking of her as like a little
34:24seven-year-old girl anymore.
34:30I'm just so happy about, you know,
34:32it was my sister that I was able to take this journey with.
34:36Thank you for coming.
34:37Thank you for having us, it was amazing.
34:40We definitely broke down the barrier of opening up.
34:43Bye, bye, bye, bye.
34:46We know we're there for each other
34:48and I feel like it's part of our story,
34:51something we've done together and we'll remember it forever.
34:55Hello, mate.
35:10Two for Kochi, please.
35:11There you go.
35:13Simple, wasn't it?
35:16Oh, hmm.
35:16Two-fifty.
35:18After spending the night in Corrie Code,
35:21Brian and Melvin have booked an afternoon train to Kochi,
35:24but first, time to dip their feet in the Indian Ocean.
35:29Ooh, that's all right, isn't it?
35:33Not even.
35:34That's nice, yeah.
35:38Picture, picture, picture.
35:39A picture.
35:40You want to take a picture of us?
35:41Yeah.
35:42That's good.
35:44He's printing them now, look.
35:48Yes, sir.
35:48It's actually not a bad little photograph, is it, really?
35:52And the photo's not bad.
35:54It's actually quite a good photo.
35:56We're 62, 65 years of age and we're about to wait this long
36:00and we've needed something like this to say,
36:02come on, let's go and do this,
36:04let's go and have that adventure we've always talked about.
36:07You keep that photo, Mel.
36:08I will, mate.
36:09Get a nice frame for it.
36:11I'm going to get a pound, then.
36:13No, you need something decent.
36:15I do believe that we've grown closer.
36:17Because we've done a lot of things together again,
36:20as we did when we were kiddies.
36:22I don't think I'm going to need a therapist.
36:24We're not going to pick up the phone until your bride.
36:26Have you got any photos at your house at all?
36:28No, none at all.
36:29You've got nothing, no photos up at all of anyone?
36:32No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
36:34So why don't you frame that one and pick that one
36:37and that's the first photo?
36:38I will be.
36:40From growing up as kids and then we went our separate ways
36:44and so we started our life together
36:47and then at the back end of our lives,
36:50we're back together again.
36:51It's pretty special indeed.
36:54Feels nice, doesn't it?
36:56We have got a train to catch.
36:58Let's go.
36:58Let's go onwards, yeah?
37:03It's so colourful.
37:04Look at those flowers hanging up there.
37:06Caroline and Tom's long-awaited 11-hour overnight bus
37:10has put them back in contention.
37:13That's remind me a little bit of Europe
37:14with the quaint streets, cobble pavements, it's lovely.
37:18Meaning they're the first to arrive in Kochi,
37:21the jewel of Kerala.
37:28A collision of cultures
37:30where a 450-year-old synagogue
37:33stands beside mosques and Christian churches
37:37and Katakali dancers perform in the courtyards.
37:41Look at that!
37:43That is massive!
37:45On the shoreline,
37:47medieval Chinese fishing nets
37:49brought to the Malabar coast
37:50by traders from the east
37:52cantilever over the shallows.
37:56Oh, it's literally done by stones.
37:58Look at that!
37:59Anything in the net?
38:02This is like being a Pirates of the Caribbean.
38:04Oh, it feels like we're walking the plank, Mum.
38:08I know, I know.
38:09Do you do this every day?
38:11Every day, early morning,
38:13with 9 o'clock, chatting.
38:14OK.
38:14And two acres, finishing.
38:16It's very fish and very lacking.
38:19Oh!
38:20Oh, can I pull it?
38:22Yeah.
38:22Oh, no way.
38:24This trip, on a more personal note,
38:26for me, has been eye-opening.
38:29Whoa, stone's coming in!
38:32Wow, look at that!
38:33That was incredible watching the stones come down.
38:36I came out of school very confused
38:39and quite scared of the future.
38:42I was taught you have to be good at school
38:45to do well in life.
38:48Wow.
38:50Wow.
38:50Wow.
38:51That's, like, see-through.
38:53It's given me just a bit of confidence
38:56to know that even though I'm not necessarily book smart,
39:00you can learn so much about yourself
39:02and about the real world
39:03by just throwing yourself out there.
39:05It's coming back up!
39:06It's coming back up!
39:06Look, what's the stones?
39:08Oh, it's so cool!
39:11Like, stumbling along...
39:13Stuff like this.
39:14...cool stuff like this.
39:1575 kilometres north...
39:21We've got to leave Kochi tonight.
39:24..Ryan and Melvin are in hot pursuit.
39:26There's a crane at 12-13.
39:29There's no tickets.
39:30There are many taxi operators.
39:33How is that?
39:34We've got about 15,000 rupees,
39:36so we could do that.
39:38300 kilometres to the east,
39:40Elizabeth and Letitia are on their way to Madurai.
39:44Hopefully, you know,
39:45Finn and Sean have them caught up.
39:47Or Brian and Melvin.
39:49Their last major transport hub
39:51before the finish line.
39:54I feel like as soon as we get on that transport to a checkpoint,
39:56all the nerves will come in, you know?
39:58It is very emotional.
40:00It's just, like, um,
40:02closing this chapter, I guess.
40:05Already there...
40:07Hey! I get to have three Mahendis.
40:09I don't know what I have to do with you.
40:10Name?
40:11Sean Ed.
40:12You're right for your name.
40:14Er, Finn.
40:15Probably.
40:16Finn and Sean Ed squeeze in a final souvenir from Madurai.
40:20How does it all start off with your name?
40:25She's getting her name.
40:27Oh, no.
40:28Oh, that's not...
40:29She's not going to be happy about that.
40:31Oh, bless.
40:32I feel so bad.
40:35It's gone kind of wrong.
40:38Aw.
40:38Thanks for showing how much you love me.
40:40You've brought your name and my name in your hand.
40:44That was really nice.
40:47Finn and Sean Ed.
40:49Thank you very much.
40:51The plan is now to go pick up our bags
40:54and book our final transport of the race.
40:58I'm sorry, but I couldn't think of anything worse than that.
41:00Finn and Sean Ed.
41:01Yeah, all right.
41:02As the landmass of India narrows, so does the race,
41:11with all four teams closing in on each other
41:14and the finish line.
41:17In Kochi...
41:18Can you tell us where to go to book a sleeper bus, please?
41:23Caroline and Tom are raring to get on the move.
41:26Not in the whole of Kochi?
41:30No, no.
41:31I think we should just consider a private taxi the whole way.
41:38OK, well, my only concern is we found out it's about 340 kilometres.
41:45Mm-hm.
41:47And would that not be just too long for one driver all the way?
41:50We've got the budget and we've always said we want to...
41:53We don't want to finish with budget, we want to finish first.
41:56So let's do that.
41:57Well, let's look at that then.
41:58I'm happy to.
41:59I think now we just need to find something that keeps us moving.
42:03While they search for a driver willing to take them to Kanya Kumari...
42:08266 kilometres east in Madurai...
42:12Spend, spend, spend.
42:13Just to push ourselves to the checkpoint.
42:22Elizabeth and Letitia are adopting a similar strategy.
42:26We would like to go to Kanya Kumari.
42:28Yeah, Kanya Kumari.
42:29You can take us to Kanya Kumari?
42:31Yeah, yeah.
42:31The other side of town, Finn and Sean Head.
42:35We need to get to Kanya Kumari.
42:37Do you think it's possible to book us a taxi there?
42:40I'll try, but I don't know about the charges.
42:42Let me speak to us.
42:43OK, yeah, if you could get the price for us, that'd be great.
42:47So at what time you'll want the taxi?
42:49Like, right now, as soon as you can.
42:52Yeah, as soon as you can.
42:54It takes about half an hour.
42:56OK.
42:57Yes, perfect.
42:58As soon as you can.
42:59Could you tell him, it's a race, and we need to get there as quickly as possible?
43:04Yeah.
43:05We're in Kochi.
43:06The only way that we will be able to catch up on the leaders
43:10will be to use the rupees that we've got left.
43:14And throw it.
43:15And throw it.
43:17Throw it at it.
43:18That's all right.
43:19That's all right.
43:20It's a big one.
43:21No, it's a diesel.
43:22And it's diesel.
43:23Right, then.
43:24Let's get in and let's get out.
43:26Let's jet and move on.
43:27This is our last chance, you know, to come first.
43:31Let's go, go, go.
43:33Oh, Kaniya Kamari.
43:34Formula One driver today.
43:36Still got a chance of getting in first.
43:37There's a cockle here.
43:38It's really important that we listen to each other, communicate,
43:44and just try to think as rationally as possible.
43:47We've got this.
43:48We just need to be wise, not stupid.
43:55After thousands of miles raced through China, Nepal, and India,
44:00it's the closest the race has been in 51 days.
44:04How far is it?
44:05So we're close to the bus stand?
44:11Yeah.
44:12Oh, that's so good.
44:14Oh, God, Liam, it's probably.
44:17What's happening?
44:18Why are we stopping?
44:19Are we going forward?
44:22Are we driving?
44:23Permit day.
44:24Right.
44:24Oh, you need a state permit.
44:25Oh, you need a state permit, OK.
44:27There's nearly 6 o'clock.
44:28The sun's going to be up in a minute.
44:30We're well behind schedule now.
44:35At the southernmost tip of the Indian peninsula,
44:46Kanyakumari and the finish line.
44:53I am so nervous.
45:10Right, we're ready to get out.
45:14Oh, my God.
45:18I'm grabbing some sugar because I do not want to be on this final approach going low.
45:27Are we nearly there?
45:30Fuck, I've just seen finish your lid.
45:32You haven't.
45:33I promise you I have.
45:34I've just seen finish your lid.
45:35Oh, no.
45:37Oh, get up to the way, people.
45:39Come on.
45:39How's the road?
45:44Thank you so much.
45:49By any means, find the tip of India.
45:51The tip of India.
45:53The tip of India.
45:56Let's go.
45:57The most bottom part of India.
45:59Could we go there now?
46:00Thank you so much.
46:03Hi, we're looking for the tip of India.
46:05Yes, great.
46:08Hello, tip of India.
46:10Yeah, thank you.
46:12It's a nice sunrise.
46:13It's a bit hard to focus on, but it's nice.
46:15It's beautiful.
46:17Look at this.
46:20We are now within touching distance of the Moorcon.
46:26Could you wait for five minutes?
46:28This is tip of India.
46:30Tip.
46:31Sorry.
46:33The most southern tip, I'm assuming, is this.
46:39Oh, do we need to go to the end over there?
46:41Do you think we need to go to the end?
46:43See that thing there?
46:45It's got to be the most southern tip now.
46:48Is this the most southern point of India?
46:51That's the southern one.
46:52Oh, gosh, we're in the wrong place.
46:54Does anybody know where the tip of India is?
46:55It must be here.
46:56It must be here.
46:56I think so.
46:57This is the furthest bit sticking out.
46:58I have a strong feeling that there's other teams around, and I doubt that it's made that mistake.
47:04You can see the checkpoint.
47:06I think it's here.
47:08Huh?
47:08Yeah.
47:09It's here, yeah.
47:09Get for the step.
47:10Get for the step.
47:11I can see it.
47:12Right, this must be it.
47:13I'd say we've found it.
47:14This is the tip.
47:21What the heck?
47:23Oh, no!
47:26Right, race head cue.
47:27Proceed on foot.
47:28To the front of Our Lady Ransom Shrine.
47:36We're looking for the Our Lady of Ransom Shrine.
47:40Ransom Shrine.
47:42Our Lady.
47:45All right, here.
47:46This is it.
47:47The big church over there.
47:49Where?
47:50There.
47:51Ransom Shrine.
47:53Thomas, if they don't know that you want to, that's it.
47:55It is under that white one.
47:55The white one.
47:56Thank you so much.
47:57Oh, my God.
47:58That's far.
47:59Go, go.
48:00Oh, it's here.
48:02Good spotting.
48:03Shrine of Lady Ransom.
48:06Go around there, the front.
48:08Around here.
48:13Take a boat to Our Rock in Pyrna Fishing Village.
48:18Fishing Village.
48:20A boat?
48:22Back where we came from.
48:23There are boats down there.
48:25There it is.
48:25There we go.
48:26That is it.
48:27Let's go.
48:27All right, which is south?
48:28Which way is south?
48:29It's where the boats are going to go.
48:30Boat.
48:31Boat.
48:31Boat.
48:32Careful, careful, careful.
48:34Can we get a boat?
48:35Can we go now?
48:36In a race?
48:37No, I want those.
48:38It is Argybron.
48:39That's fine.
48:39Yeah, we got it.
48:41Let's go.
48:43All right, let's go.
48:44Thank you, thank you, thank you.
48:45Oh, what would you do like that?
48:49Oh, this is choppy, I like it.
49:06Look at this.
49:08Look at this.
49:08Woo!
49:10Up and down, up and down.
49:13I can't see Finn and Sean.
49:14I can't see them yet.
49:15I don't know if they can see us.
49:17This is so good.
49:19Go, go, faster, faster.
49:21Wow!
49:24Oh, my...
49:24That's nice.
49:27That is actually quite nice.
49:29Look at the mountains.
49:30Oh, Thomas, that is beautiful.
49:32It really just looks prehistoric.
49:3512,000 kilometres and he's all down for this moment.
49:39All down to this book.
49:41Why does a book hold this much power?
49:46When we arrive, can we leave our bag?
49:49Yeah?
49:49Yeah.
49:50Oh, thank you.
49:52Oh, my gosh.
49:55Now I'm, like, five kilos heavier.
49:57Where do we go?
50:00Avoiding the main road.
50:01Race on fort.
50:02To the Vatacotay fort.
50:06Vatacotay, please.
50:06The fort.
50:07Fort.
50:08But now.
50:09This way.
50:09Can we walk on the beach?
50:11Here?
50:12Yeah?
50:12Can we get to the fort this way, please?
50:15Vatacotay fort.
50:15I don't think we can, Thomas.
50:17This way.
50:18What does it look like?
50:18It's a fort.
50:19A fort.
50:19What's that?
50:21Thank you so much.
50:22It's a fort.
50:23I can't explain what I've fought.
50:25You should know what I've fought.
50:26You ain't going to pull that out.
50:28No, I'm not.
50:28I'm going to get the straps.
50:29You'll have to lift it up for me.
50:30Hang on.
50:30Let's go.
50:31Just lift it for me.
50:35Vatacotay fort.
50:36Beats it.
50:36Oh, my God.
50:37Oh, my God.
50:37Are you sure?
50:38That's a waste of time.
50:45Oh, fuck.
50:46This is so far out of the way.
50:48Last push.
50:48Come on, Sean.
50:50Thomas Beach.
50:52Come on, Thomas.
50:52Faster.
50:53I can't run on this.
50:54Oh!
50:55Dump the bag.
50:56I'm not dumping me back.
50:57I'll have to come back for it later, won't I?
50:59All right.
51:00Bye-bye, bag.
51:01Let's go.
51:01Fair enough.
51:02It's like a jungle.
51:03Just dumping it.
51:04Are you coming back for it?
51:05Yes, I'll come back for both of them.
51:07I promise you.
51:08Oh, that looks like a fort over there.
51:09Can you see it?
51:10Have you spotted the fort?
51:12Yeah.
51:14Can you see anyone else, Thomas?
51:15I don't see anyone.
51:16Yes!
51:17Come on.
51:18Let's go.
51:18The book is somewhere here.
51:21Up, surely up.
51:23This is it.
51:24Oh, my gosh.
51:25Go.
51:25Go!
51:29I see it.
51:30Mum!
51:30Go!
51:35I know we've got a winner.
51:43Everything is coming down to this moment.
51:48If Thomas and I can win this race, it will mean the world to me.
52:04You ready?
52:06Yes.
52:08Congratulations.
52:09You have successfully reached the finish line.
52:12Please sign in Overleaf to find out if you have won the race on £20,000.
52:17I almost got a look.
52:23That was amazing.
52:25Follow me.
52:27I felt like it was such a failure to begin with.
52:31We must never doubt ourselves again.
52:33Ever, ever, ever.
52:34We won the race.
52:37Well done.
52:38Oh.
52:39Oh, my God.
52:40It's a really good feeling.
52:43I'm lost for words.
52:44I can't believe it.
52:4551 days racing through countries that I never thought I'd go to.
52:49I never thought we'd come this far.
52:51I never thought we'd achieve so much.
52:53And I've never been proud of my mum.
52:55She got me through it.
53:01Oh!
53:01Oh!
53:02Tom and Caroline.
53:04I did it.
53:05Look at them, yeah.
53:06So close.
53:0719 minutes.
53:09Five.
53:10Oh.
53:11No.
53:12No way.
53:13No way.
53:14Wow.
53:14Oh, so close.
53:17We've done one.
53:19Oh.
53:20No, I'm proud of us.
53:21Mm.
53:21I am proud of us.
53:23Do you have five?
53:24I'm knackered.
53:28I'm knackered.
53:30It would have been incredible to come first, but obviously, we can't all come first.
53:33We've gone, what, 12,000 kilometres?
53:35It's been more than just the distance.
53:37It's been a journey for us.
53:39I'm a bit sad that the race is over now, though.
53:42We're going home.
53:44Let's go.
53:44Whilst I'm standing here, sweaty, smelly, exhausted, I'm actually feeling on top of the world.
54:00Throughout the race, I've learned the confidence to not care about what people think, and I've
54:03learned that from mum.
54:04Woo!
54:05Where are you from?
54:06England.
54:07Lovely jubbly.
54:09It's just been glorious to get to know my son as a person, as a travelling companion.
54:14We've discovered each other as people, and it's as if the generations between us have
54:19disappeared, and it's just been absolutely magical.
54:23I'm feeling really, really proud of ourselves for, like, pushing through right into the end.
54:29Oh, wow!
54:30It looks like a picture.
54:33It's an experience I will never forget.
54:36I feel like I can set my mind and do anything now.
54:39Thank you so much.
54:41I definitely feel a lot closer to Letitia, and it's definitely from this race.
54:45It's like a different bond.
54:48I'm excited for that dynamic, and even, you know, I hope you'll feel comfortable sharing
54:52your life, too.
54:53Yeah.
54:54I'm really proud of us.
54:5651 days of travelling, all to come down to a 45-minute difference of coming first.
55:03I think we've done well to actually make it to the finish line.
55:06We started this journey quite immature.
55:10We had a lot of room for improvement, a lot to learn.
55:15We hadn't experienced any of the world.
55:19And I think we're going home with so many more life skills.
55:23Wow.
55:25Oh, I don't know that, LeBond.
55:28I feel very fortunate and very grateful to have done the race with you, so...
55:32Marge is probably still on the cards at some point.
55:34I'm not sure when.
55:36Not right now.
55:37But, yeah, at some point.
55:39This would be a nice proposal.
55:41It's too hot.
55:44Come on!
55:45OK.
55:47We got it.
55:48We're here.
55:51Oh, God, it was tight, wasn't it?
55:53Look at this.
55:54Yeah.
55:54Caroline Tom.
55:55We've caught up all those hours.
55:57Two hours.
55:58We've done very well, actually.
56:00Really pleased for the guys that have won it.
56:02That's it.
56:03Done.
56:03Hold on, mate.
56:03Stick it there, mate.
56:04Well done.
56:05Well done, pal.
56:06Hug.
56:07We have completed the race.
56:10Beer.
56:12Desperately and definitely.
56:13Let's go.
56:1612,000 miles, three countries,
56:19a pair of old codgers.
56:20I think we've done a good...
56:21I think we've done well.
56:21No regrets.
56:23And, um,
56:24really pleased that we've done it together.
56:26Oh, don't do that.
56:29Many times as a kid I was told I wasn't good enough to do this or to do that.
56:34Well, you can do anything you want to do.
56:35And the way!
56:39What we've done is we've got to know one another.
56:42We have rekindled a few lost memories.
56:46And we've made a few more as well.
56:48I'm pleased that I've done it with Melv.
56:51We're brothers, so yes, we do love each other.
56:54But would I tell him?
56:56No, I wouldn't.
56:57I'm not going to turn around and say,
56:58I love you, Brian.
56:59Let's go, Brian.
57:00Let's go, Brian.
57:02Oh, there we are!
57:10Are we all ready for a celebration?
57:14And you're going to explode it.
57:16Yay!
57:18Whoa!
57:20Karen and Tom, the pair of you
57:22have worked so hard
57:24on this race.
57:26You've got all of our respect.
57:28Cheers, guys.
57:30Well done, everybody.
57:32Everyone's smashed it.
57:34Just to get to the end is such an achievement in itself.
57:36I want to race home.
57:44What?
57:46...
57:48...
57:50...
57:58...
58:01...
58:04What?
58:06What?
58:08How do you get to yourppe?
58:10...
