00:00Well...
00:05I don't know quite what to say.
00:10How many times can you say a vagina in one speech?
00:16Time now for this year's Tony Warren Award.
00:20Named in honour of the legendary Coronation Street creator,
00:24this special award acknowledges a huge contribution to soap
00:28made by someone behind the scenes.
00:30And here to present it are some dingles, not all of them,
00:33because let's be honest, that's half the theatre.
00:35Please welcome Moira and Marlon.
00:38It's Natalie J. Robb and Mark Sharnoff.
00:54This year's Tony Warren Award goes to a much-looking
00:57friend and colleague who began his career at Yorkshire TV
01:01back in 1985 as a postal messenger,
01:05but who just a few years later met the second love of his life,
01:09the camera.
01:11From the moment he worked on his first episode,
01:13there was no holding him back.
01:15And since then, he's filmed over a thousand episodes of Emmerdale,
01:19bringing energy, warmth and creativity to everything,
01:23from the devastating New Aziz Storm in 2003,
01:27the unforgettable 40th anniversary live episode in 2012,
01:31to the catastrophic Hotton Bypass crash.
01:34And since becoming head of cameras at Emmerdale,
01:37he's championed loads of new talent with the same passion
01:40he brings to every single frame.
01:42He's a mentor, an ambassador for the show,
01:46and a true part of Emmerdale's beating heart.
01:50I am delighted to say that the 2025 Tony Warren Award
01:54goes to the brilliant Mike Blunt!
01:58Woo!
02:16Er, totally unexpected.
02:18Erm, it's been a fabulous 40 years, erm,
02:22and I've had the privilege of working with some of the most talented people
02:26in front and behind the camera.
02:28Erm, and that's it.
02:30Thank you very much.
