Raipur (Chhattisgarh), June 11, 2025 (ANI) : Chhattisgarh Chief Minister CM Vishnu Deo Sai highlighted potential tourism sector in state and said that “There is immense potential in the tourism sector in Chhattisgarh, especially in Bastar and Surguja” . However, he also flagged naxalism as a hurdle and said that “The biggest hurdle is Naxalism which the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister have resolved to eliminate” . Speaking on naxalism in state, he said “Chhattisgarh has around 77% naxalism, and 23% in the neighbouring states of Jharkhand, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana."Adding further, the Chief Minister also assured that a “roadmap was being prepared” to promote tourism as an industry. “We are looking at tourism as an industry, that is, the provisions which are being given to the industrial sector will also be given to the tourism sector and a complete roadmap is being prepared for this. In this way, we will be able to provide employment to more people, protect the environment and stop pollution. The government is keeping a close eye on this", he said in a statement.
