00:00At the Budget, I took the decisions necessary to provide an immediate injection of funding
00:06to get the NHS back on its feet.
00:09And I commend my right honourable friend, the Health Secretary,
00:12for all the progress that he has already made.
00:16In less than a year, this Government has recruited 1,700 new GPs,
00:22delivered 3.5 million extra appointments,
00:25and cut waiting lists by more than 200,000.
00:30Fixing our NHS also means delivering fundamental reform across social care,
00:35which means that we are backing the first ever Fair Payer Agreement for that sector.
00:41And I am increasing the NHS technology budget by almost 50%,
00:46and we are investing £10 billion to bring our analogue health system into the digital age,
00:51including through the NHS app,
00:54so patients can manage their prescriptions, get their test results,
00:57and book appointments all in one place.
01:01We are shifting care back to the community,
01:04providing more funding to support the training of thousands more GPs
01:07to deliver millions more appointments.
01:10We are investing more in prevention to meet our manifesto commitment
01:14of providing mental health support teams in all schools in England by the end of this Parliament.
01:20These investments will enable the delivery of our upcoming 10-year plan for health
01:27and put the NHS firmly back on the path to renewal.
01:32And to support that plan,
01:34to back the doctors and nurses that we rely on,
01:37and to make sure that the NHS is there whenever we need it,
01:40I am proud to announce today that this Labour Government
01:44is making a record cash investment in our National Health Service,
01:48increasing real-term day-to-day spending by 3% per year
01:53for every single year of this spending review.
01:56An extra £29 billion per year for the day-to-day running of our health service.
02:05Mr Speaker, that is what the British people voted for,
02:09and that is what we will deliver.
02:12More appointments, more doctors, more scanners,
02:16the National Health Service created by a Labour Government,
02:20protected by a Labour Government,
02:22and renewed by this Labour Government.
02:25Cheers!
