House prosecutors: Sara impeach trial now with Senate  The prosecution team at the House of Representatives, led by Rep. Marcelino Libanan and Rep. Gerville Luistro, reiterates on June 11, 2025 that the impeachment trial is now with the Senate, despite its order to remand the articles of impeachment to the House. Another prosecutor, Rep. Romeo Acop, stressed that the proceedings were not a personal grudge against an individual but a way to extract accountability from public officers. 00:00We welcome the impeachment court's service of summons to the vice president.

00:10Apparently, the jurisdiction over the person of the respondent has been acquired already.

00:20She has a period of 10 days to answer.

00:25That is non-extendable.

00:27And we hope that all issues which are being raised in the impeachment court will be tackled as well in the answer of the vice president.

00:41So finally, the people of the Philippines will see from the answer of the vice president what her defenses are.

00:53Isa lamang po ibig sabihin ito, yung pag-acquire po ng jurisdiction, ang impeachment court sa ating respondent, kay vice president Sarah Zimmerman Duterte,

01:07it only shows na tuloy na tuloy na ang impeachment trial.

01:25Now, with respect to the action of the senate last night, the impeachment court requiring us to issue a certification about compliance with the constitution

01:43for respect to the filing of the impeachment court, as well as the second order, and that is for the 20th Congress to confirm whether we will pursue this impeachment complaint.

02:15So we resolve to seek the clarification of the impeachment court.

02:22With respect to the first order, about the certification pertaining to our compliance with the constitution in filing the impeachment complaint,

02:35we maintain our position, sumunod po kami fully and strictly to the requirements of the constitution.

02:46We did not violate the one-year prohibition rule.

02:52With respect to the second order, it is impossible to be complied with because first of all, 20th Congress doesn't exist yet.

03:10We will be looking forward to convene naman ang pa-dalawang pong kongreso ng Pilipinas that will be on July 28, simultaneous with the Sona.

03:32Eseparate itong sapan eh, sa provisions of the constitution regarding revival of populars in government.

03:43This is about the truth, this is about accountability.

03:49Kasi if we do not do this thing, we are sending the wrong signals to the Filipino people that our constitution can just be violated by power to people.

04:03No, it is not personal as far as this representation is concerned.

04:08It is about, shall we say, implementing the provisions of the constitution properly and appropriately.

04:16And sending to the people the proper signal that they have to have injustice, i.e. do not do.

04:28What do we do to have to do that?

04:30I want to ask people to ask people to say, do justice.

04:33Why? Because it should be equal to all kinds of people, whether rich or poor alike.
