Lead prosecutor in VP Duterte impeachment trial revealed

The House prosecution team in Vice President Sara Duterte's upcoming impeachment trial has finally named its lead prosecutor. 00:00Before we begin with the actual press conference, we would just like to announce that a letter

00:09was submitted to the Senate, first and foremost, before we get to the motion, which will be

00:13explained by Minority Leader Libanan, that we have submitted a letter, the prosecutor

00:19signed by the other ten prosecutors, including myself, that we have appointed, constituted,

00:25and empowered the most senior member of the public prosecutors, the Honorable Marcelino

00:31C. Libanan, to perform the following acts on behalf of all public prosecutors in the

00:35VP Duterte impeachment case.

00:37A, to execute the verification in relation to any petition, motion, pleading that must

00:43be filed on our behalf.

00:44B, to sign and file any motion, pleading, or submission on behalf of the prosecution.

00:50And C, to execute all other documents and perform all other acts necessary to give effect

00:54to the foregoing authority.

00:56Thus in summary, we have instituted the Honorable Libanan to be empowered to sign any of these

01:02documents in relation to impeachment.

01:04So although it is not yet formal, in effect, this is what we call a lead prosecutor.
