Marcos: Impeach trial to cross over to next Congress

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said in an interview in Malacanang on June 10, 2025 that the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte would cross over to the next Congress but that he would leave the matter to the Senate.

00:07Well, this is really a function of the Senate right now. So, we leave it to them.
00:16It has moved already from the House. It has now been in the Senate for a few months.
00:21And we are watching, of course, what the Senate President Jesus Cudero is doing to try to make it as a peaceful a transition as possible from this Congress to the next.
00:36Ang controversy po ngayon ay kung tatawid dahil from 19th to 20th Congress. As a former senator judge, what are your thoughts on that controversy?
00:43What is the controversy? It is very clear that it will. Because there's no way that even if they start the trial now, that they will finish it before the new senators come in.
01:02So, well, again, the senators will decide.
