00:00What others have said, and I associate myself with their remarks.

00:03Here's the thing.

00:04The president has said he couldn't, he can't send in a guard without the governor's agreement

00:11permission.

00:12The president has said, I don't know if I have to obey the Constitution.

00:18I hope the president would read Article 10 of the Constitution, and I urge all of you

00:24to do that as well.

00:25Because Section 12046 of Article 10 says that the National Guard cannot be called up by

00:36the president without the consent of the governor.

00:40So that is the basis under which he's proceeding.

00:44That is the basis on which the president, excuse me, the governor of California is suing.

00:50Really, I think it's really important for people to know how this came to be.

00:56Raids that they were holding, situations where if you are, your case is not settled, you know,

01:05if you're still out there and haven't had a resolution of your status, you have to, by

01:12law, report in on a regular basis.

01:17You are obeying the law.

01:20And now they are deporting people for obeying the law.

01:26So as others said, it's a distraction.

01:29It's really stupid, because we understand that we are a nation of immigrants.

01:39We want people to have a facilitation of their status.

01:45We do not want any violent protest, and that would be addressed for those who are acting violently.

01:54I do want to say two more things.

01:57One is, and I say this as a former party chair, when there is a gathering, a large gathering

02:05of people, the anarchists see it as an opportunity, and they move in.

02:11So always have to be careful whether you see a burned car or a broken window or whatever

02:16it is.

02:17It may be the exuberance of the moment, but it may be the anarchist setting in.

02:22And I heard one of the former police chiefs of Los Angeles speak about this on Sunday.

02:29Secondly, secondly, and you know this to be true, and I haven't seen it really reflected

02:35so much in the press.

02:38In a bipartisan way, on January 6th, with violence against the Constitution, against the Congress,

02:46and against the United States Capitol, we begged the President of the United States to send

02:53in the National Guard.

02:55He would not do it.

02:58Not only would he not do it, when law enforcement, people were being harmed, some later died, he

03:06would not send it in, when an insurrection that he incited was causing damage to those assigned

03:17to protect the Capitol and the Constitution that day, to accept the results of the Electoral College.

03:25That day, he didn't do it.

03:28He forgave those people.

03:31Now his people want to raise money for them.

03:34And yet, and yet, in a contra-constitutional way, he has sent the National Guard into California.

03:46Something is very wrong with this picture.

03:48Inconsistent in his actions, contrary to his own statement that he couldn't, of a year ago,

03:56that he couldn't send anyone in without the Governor's consent, anyplace, and in violation

04:04of the Constitution.
