00:00In the back, I expect a good, clean fight to play Olympia.
00:05Obey my commands at all times, protect yourself at all times.
00:09Punches the key are okay.
00:11Suscopes, arriba.
00:14Touchless, good bless. God bless.
00:17All right, Keon Davis made his pro debut here in November last year.
00:23And now this is his third fight of 2025, trained by Brian Bommack McIntyre.
00:30Part of the DB3 crew with Keyshawn, his little brother, and his older brother, Kelvin,
00:35who now moves in to the co-main event spot.
00:39But it's a big moment for Keon.
00:41He says, look, the first time I made my pro debut, there was 10,000 people in the stands.
00:45And not as many tonight, Tim, but he has a chance to give them something to go home and talk about.
00:51Yeah, absolutely.
00:52I mean, being your debut, fighting in your hometown, we always hear stories about fighters, champions, right?
01:00They finally get a chance to go home, and how distracting that can be, fighting at home.
01:05But he handled it well for the first time, being a pro.
01:10And you can tell he's starting to get real comfortable.
01:13You know, you saw he come out, came out at the Rapper and everything.
01:16I mean, he felt it's water right in.
01:18He heard him with that right in.
01:19Oh, my goodness.
01:20Yeah, he had real stacks.
01:24His childhood friends had known each other since they were seven years old.
01:27They spent the night at each other's houses.
01:29And now he's like, I'm getting in here, rising to the top, and I'm going to bring you with me.
01:33So he says, that's what we're all about here in Norfolk, is bringing each other up.
01:37But he's trying to get his man down here, Michael Vélez from Puerto Rico.
01:44Vélez used to be in the taller, longer fighter, too, but not tonight against Keon Davis.
01:49No, he's fighting against the tallest welterweight ever in the history.
01:54Shoot, at 6'3".
01:56Ooh, what a good feint that Vélez bid on, but Davis didn't make him pay on that one.
02:08He did tell us, Tim, look, whatever happened with my brother, that's his business.
02:13I'm obviously with him, behind him 100%, support him.
02:15But I can't let that get into my mindset.
02:18And that's good for a young man who's only in his fourth professional fight at 23 years old.
02:24Yeah, absolutely.
02:25I like Vélez.
02:26Vélez is trying to use his legs, trying to create offense by using his legs.
02:31He's a sneak and attack like that any time there's any lulls of action from Keon.
02:38Love to see Keon get back on that jab, set up those shots.
02:42You know, he's looking to get after it, man, and that could just be from the excitement from the crowd.
02:47Vélez told me that he didn't debut until he was 27 years old,
02:51but he's been fighting since he was 9 because his father was a former fighter.
02:54Took him to the gym.
02:56He says, I had to make ends meet.
02:58I got a girl pregnant when I was 15.
03:00I was out in the field working construction as well.
03:03But he says, Dan, I found a place where I could get myself back into the game.
03:07And here he is.
03:08Both of them are 3-0 with two knockouts, identical records.
03:11But he's fighting in Keon's hometown, and that's an uphill battle for the Puerto Rican.
03:21That 1-2 from Keon Davis.
03:24It's just hard because he can touch you in places where he's untouchable just because of that range and length.
03:31Yeah, you can have the range, but you've got to know how to use it.
03:34He knows how to use it.
03:35You know, and it's all controlled by your feet and, of course, your eyes.
03:40You've got to recognize your distance, and he recognizes his distance very well.
03:43Time!
03:43All right, Brian Bommack McIntyre, first fight of the night for him with Keon Davis.
03:57Hey, I got it.
03:59Hey, listen.
04:01You're doing great.
04:03You can't fuck with your goodies.
04:05All right, you see how you stand in the pocket and you're countering?
04:08Start taking stuff.
04:09Let's put that down there.
04:10Take a half a step backwards and counter.
04:13All right?
04:13And, Tim, we talked about range, but it's all about knowing how to use it,
04:17and Keon showed that he's got that mastery.
04:20Yeah, I mean, you've got the long arms, but you've got to know how to shorten those shots up, too.
04:24And this is what you see right here, starting with that jab.
04:26He actually started with a feint first, got him to commit.
04:29Boom, and he short that right hand up.
04:31It almost seems like he hit him with a little elbow, but I don't think that was intentional at all.
04:37That was just perfect technique and timing right there.
04:39All right.
04:40By Keon.
04:41And that was interesting to see.
04:46I mean, he set that up off a feint.
04:47I didn't see that, that subtle movement beforehand, but he got him to commit to open up.
04:51And when he committed, he had something available for him.
04:53So just smart boxing from Keon.
04:55And now you see Velas coming out aggressive, stepping to Davis and trying to shorten that range and not give him this type of advantage because that's where Davis is so dangerous.
05:07Man, look, I like Keon, man.
05:09And the reason why I like Keon is he's offensive minded.
05:13You know, he's not one of those guys that like to sit pretty on the outside, man.
05:16He likes to actually take risk, you know, and do it at a comfortable distance.
05:22But he's putting those combinations together upstairs, downstairs, you know, he's taking care of good, that's good defense right there from him, catching those shots.
05:31But I also like what Velas is doing.
05:34Velas is coming out, being aggressive, trying to, he didn't like that last round.
05:39And he's letting his hands go in combination and he finally landed left hook right there.
05:45He knows the pressure is on Davis here who's fighting at home.
05:51And this was supposed to be Keyshawn Davis' night.
05:54And we'll listen in to him, giving instructions to his brother, with mother and manager Wanda looking on.
06:05The commitment downstairs, and that's what's going to get it to Keon, that's what you got to do.
06:10Especially when you have a guy that's trying to use his legs.
06:13You keep digging downstairs, eventually he's on the stage, he's on the stage still, he's on the fight you.
06:18He's going to start to wear those legs out, take a lot of his conditioning by digging downstairs.
06:23And Keon, he knows that.
06:25He's going heavy downstairs with the left hook.
06:28That was a nice look from Velas, and then he got clipped by Davis, and the referee says no knockdown.
06:35We'll have to take a look at that.
06:36Feet.
06:37Feet.
06:38I think it was the feet.
06:39Tripped up on the feet.
06:41However, however, Davis didn't really turn that left hook over at all.
06:45Just kind of clubbed him with it.
06:50Nice right hand there from Davis.
06:51It's short and right to the point.
06:54See, and that's what I want to see with a tall fighter.
06:56Tall of the fighters, you see taller fighters.
06:59Oh, shot!
07:02He's got his man crawling in his hometown.
07:10Bill Clancy can count to 100.
07:13That's the second body shot.
07:15I'm not going to listen to the crowd.
07:16That's how you make your mark.
07:28No matter what happens with everybody else, it's your time to shine when that bell rings.
07:34And that's what Keon Davis just did.
07:36And he's bringing excitement to his city, man.
07:39That excitement right there to his city.
07:42Right on the 7-5-7 here.
07:45Absolutely.
07:46They're definitely happy with that performance.
07:48That was another stellar performance by Keon.
07:54He did a great job.
07:57This was impressive, and we're going to see exactly how it ended.
08:01Bomek is happy.
08:02Everyone in Norfolk is happy, except for Michael Veles.
08:05Keon right here just on a hunt.
08:11He knows the knockout is near.
08:12Throws the right hand around the guard.
08:13It gets him to lift up that right hand.
08:17You see the high guard up.
08:21So he hit the right side and went down low with that body shot to the left side.
08:26Why those arms was high, trying to protect that head.
08:31This is smart boxing right here.
08:32Well-placed body shot, right liver shot, I should say.
08:35And you see him crawling on all fours right there.
08:37We just had a liver shot not too long ago.
08:39And you saw what that liver shot was able to do.
08:41This liver shot had him crawling on all fours because of the pain he was feeling through his body.
08:47Tim, the desperation, the helplessness of a man who just...
08:51There's nothing you can do to recover from a shot like that.
08:56And twice tonight, we've seen that same shot in the fight.
09:01Michael C. Williams with the official time of the stoppage.
09:05Ladies and gentlemen, it comes to a conclusion by way of that single-body shot.
09:11The official time, two minutes, 22 seconds.
09:14Into round number two.
09:16He is the winner by knockout.
09:19Still undefeated.
09:22Keon, the juice man, David.
09:27And he put all the juice.
